Strength:

The standard 2.4 liter is stout. But I have modified it just a little by adding a turbo kit to it. also a computer upgrade to it. and along with some performance tune-up equiptment. Now the little 4-cylinder will out run the Mustangs and Camaros.

Weakness:

The seats are a little stiff

Great looking car. It rides good, great fuel milage.

Great luxury without spending$$$$!!!

Stereo.

I love this car! Great handling! I have had the car for about two months now. I think I have only filled up the tank twice now and I do a medium amount of driving so it gets great gas mileage! I have a 4 cyl and it has great pickup! Very roomy and alot of comfort! Has alot of nice features (leather, sunroof, folding back seats). Very quiet and a smooth ride!!!!!!!!

There is a lot of space and sitting room to fit a family. and the ATB are outstanding. the sleek look i cool and the front weel drive is ok

Weakness:

there areno weaknesses

The galant is balls to the wall in speed for a midsize vehicle. It reaches 0-60 mph in 12.0 sec. which isnt that fast but is fast enough.

Strength:

I love the style, body design, strong V6, great stereo, nice interior and controls, and a HUGE trunk. Also, the moonroof/sunroof combo is a must have. All for a price that is better than a comparable Accord, Maxima, Sentra, etc.

Weakness:

There is nothing that comes to mind, I am thrilled with this car.

I absolutely love my Galant. I decided that I didnt want to suffer with a car that i found, so I chose to buy a new car, and i chose the Galant. I wanted something that was a good size to carry around my camping gear, photography gear, and all of my buddies. Plus, I am six foot two, and I needed extra room to not be cramped. I looked at all the other four-doors in the range, including nissan, toyota, pontiac, honda, ford, chevy, dodge, etc., and I decided that the new Galant was much better looking than all the others out there. The Galant is very sleek and stylized, with an agressive and almost sinister nose, clean body lines, and crouching front fenders. I chose the GTZ for its sporty style with the body colored grill and spoiler, six-cylinder engine, and very nice factory wheels. The factory stereo, a 210 watt Infinity system, is incredible. Very clear and clean, with good bass response and a strong radio reciever. I have had not one problem with this car, even though I drive agressively. The controls and interior are very nice, and the leather is great-not too dark to chap your hide, but dark enough not to show wear and any dirt. The six-cylinder engine is definitely a must, with quick response and an eager accelerator. I have been very happy with this car and am impressed with Mitsubishi's whole new line. I will definitely put Mitsubishi in a front runner when I choose my next vehicle, which I am in no hurry to get.

Strength:

Sporty/good looking car. Great car for the price. Very reliable engine. Very durable on the inside as well as the outside. Big trunk. Decent gas mileage (about 32 mpg on the highway).

Weakness:

Front suspension needs help. Can be a little rough when going over even the smallest bumps. Seats get to be uncomfortable on longer trips. In colder weather, the power windows move very slow, and the locks tend to "freeze up".

Overall I am very satisfied with my Galant. I wanted a somewhat sporty looking car, but I also wanted 4 doors. I made a good choice. I bought it 4 years ago with 27K miles, and it now has 89K miles on it. It is still in great condition both inside and out. I've had less than $1000 in repairs since I've owned it - not too bad if you ask me. Here's what I've had to get replaced: water pump, engine belts, 1 wheel bearing, and the front ball joints (there was a recall). I also just got the front brake rotors replaced, but after almost 90K miles, that was no surprise. That's about it. I'm very impressed with the quickness of the little 4-cyl. 2.4 L engine.

looks great, reliable. i,ve had it for 8 years and it still runs realy well.cant ask for much more than that.

Weakness:

squeeky belts, had the power window on driver side fixed twice. its still doesnt work.other than that not much i can say against the car

i,ve had this car from day 1. just had the engine overhauled at 108,000 miles, cost me $1600.i have a realy good friend that does engine work. decided this was cheaper than buying another car.i,ve had very few problems with it.squeeky belts seems to be one thing i cant get rid of but have just gotten used to .at one time i had a problem with the car stalling in wet weather. goodyear fixed the problem and its been fine ever since, something to do with the fan pulling water up into the engine?other than that i love the car and hope i have it for a long time. it still looks good inside and out

Strength:

Handling, smoothness of shifting, quiet cabin, EXTREMELY comfortable leather seats(my husband says that the seats are so comfortable that he doesn't want to drive my car for fear that he would fall asleep in them!)The car is loaded for the price

Weakness:

The four cylinder models lack a little power...opt for the six if you can (still the four outperforms a lot of other fours out there...you just expect a car that looks as sharp and sporty as the new Galants to live up to their image and can be disappointed)

The Galants have become great cars over the years. Mitsubishi used to have lots of troubles...I know because I used to own a Mitsubishi Eclipse as well. However, over the last few years, the Galant has made certain "recommended" lists, such as Consumer Reports. The car is powerful and smooth driving. I got it with the leather package and it came standard, as a LS model, with a 7-speaker Infinity sound system, power roof, leather steering wheel and shifter, alloy wheels, ABS, keyless (including trunk), and power everything, even seats! For the price, you can't beat it. It turns a lot of heads since there aren't a lot of them driving around...everyone wants to know what it is and compliments it! My husband had a 1998 Honda Accord EX-V6 and his mother has a 2001 Toyota Camry--neither car is any better than this Galant.

Strength:

Great engine, nice and quiet!! Smooth running car, cant even hear the car running.

Weakness:

rattles every so often with bass going. Thats really about it for me. I love it

I really like this car, i got the 4 cylinder Galant and it moves quick, nice acceleration. I bought it with 28k on it...it has about 33k now, its sweet! Really soft interior, comfortable!! i do agree wit the rattle in the doors when you give it a little bass, it does drive you crazy. But theres something in every car that will i think. Transmission is great, nice suspension, smooth ride...I havent had any problems with my brakes at all yet. Sweet car for the money, much better than an Accord/Camry!!!

After 17,000 miles of motoring, I am enjoying my Galant ES V6. I haven''t encountered any problems with the car. I love this car! The V6 is smooth, transmission shifts promptly, and the stereo system is outstanding. I love traveling with this car on long weekends.

Strength:

Great pick-up for a 4 cyl. and good gas mileage. Reliable and built to last. Parts are inexpensive to relace when needed.

Weakness:

Paint is starting to fade from my roof and trunk. May be from the ice in the winter. Squeaky frame.

I have owned this car for seven years and currently looking for something else. The current blue book value is horrible so I''ll just trade it in. The car has faithfully started every morning for seven straight years except one time when the battery went dead. The car has 107k miles and just recently had to replace belts, water pump and rotors. Also replaced a distributer at about 60k but that and brakes was all I replaced under 60k and come to think of it 90k as well. Car still rides like the day I bought it and there are no visible leaks around engine. I have always changed my oil every 3k and maintained the regular maint. items like radiator/trans. fluid. air filter etc. I can relate to some of the transmission concerns but mine has never went south on me.
