Strength:

-This car is a monster on the road!!! I would very confortably do 135mph in our narrow roads at no noise and rattle, and the car is extremely stable on the road. The 9000rpm mark could be reached easily in any gear!!! Good performance for a 2.0 liter DOHC 16 valve. Beautiful interior, 6 speakers for a 1991 car was good.

Weakness:

-I always had problems with the suspension. The suspension is not long-lasting(!)
-Too much noise when accelerating at low speeds.
-Ugly instrument panel.
-Air Con alwals backfired
-A lot of problems with fuel pump and fuel filter.
-Problems with brakes constantly.
-the ECI MULTI system was not efficient!!!
-

Liked the overall performance but hated the frequent visita to the garage for fixing the car. I have spent a lot of money on repairing this car. I cannot own another Galant. I will try a Lancer Evo VI Xtreme or a Diamante GDI 3.0 liter SE-R (4wd)

Strength:

Nice handling, fast for engine size 4 cyl., holds 4, never breaks down, always starts, holds up well

Weakness:

Clear coat on door handles bubbles. Very low to ground, snow and getting in and out are problems at times. Hard to work on yourself. Dealers limited.

Bought it new, has over 100,000 miles on it with no trips to the dealer except for timing belt/tuneup/filters at 55,000 miles. ($500) Just plain fun to drive. Can cruise at 85 mph without excessive noise or vibration. Sticks to the road better than many sports cars.

Strength:

Handles like a dream. Plenty of power (looking for an intake system for a little more) Great looking for the price.

Weakness:

Interior could be a tad plusher. Bigger bolsters on the seats would help keep your ass planted..

Fast, good handeling head turner. Decent stereo (for a stocker) as well. Great value for the buck. Buy one, terms are fantastic.

Strength:

Fun to drive, attractive, reliable

Weakness:

Ugly upholstery

Love my car! It's sexy inside and out (except for the ugly, easily stained seat upholstery), drives like a sports car, affordable. There is lots for leg and head room. It has 91k miles and I haven't had any problems with it. I've never had that happen before. I'd recommend this to anyone and I would definitely buy another.

Strength:

Nice V6, smooth highway ride, looks very sharp compared to other 4-doors in this price range.

Weakness:

Stereo is weak, ABS is too loud, has had some problems, I guess the back seat doesn't have an abundance of legroom but I don't have to sit back there...

We have had a few problems in our 28 months of ownership (ABS sensor, passenger seat rattle, lower rocker arms replaced), but overall we like the car. Our tolerance is probably due to the fact that we expected a few bugs from an early model (Sep '98) in a redesign year. It's a nice smooth ride on the highway, usually gets 27-28mpg (only 18-20 city), and the front seats are supportive enough for hours of driving. V6, 16" alloy wheels, sunroof, power everything, good looks, all for $21,000. I wouldn't tell anyone to ignore the Honda-Toyota-Nissan offerings in favor of the Galant, but I would definitely recommend a Galant test drive before buying anything else.

Strength:

Good power for 4 cyl, smart styling

Weakness:

Price, I earlier did review upon test drive of ESV6 while waiting for my ES 4 cyl to arrive in black. Recieved car and found damage on rear bumber. While waiting for dealer to find another car I stopped at Nissan dealer and found on sale an Altima loaded 6 disc cd changer, leather, sunroof w/wind dampner, mud guards, and other extras for $17999, I could not beleive I had just signed paperwork for much more money and a lot less features at Mitsubishi as compared to Nissan. I had leased a 97 Galant ES and the 01 ESV6 was very nice but the Nissan to me seems like a much, much better buy.

Galant is a seductive car in my estimation (kinda like a blonde headed homewrecker) but the Altima seems to be the better buy unless Mitsubishi gives me one heck of a counter offer!!!!!!

the ride can be a little rough but thats because the suspension is tuned for better handling, not much you can do about that.

Awesome value, paid 14500 for a program car w/ spoiler and 12k miles, and Jap construction

Weakness:

nothing

This car is nice as hell. Its pretty fast, easy to customize, has a large trunk which fits subs easily. It also looks good and has good reliability. Compared to the other import sedans like the Accord and Camry, there is no comparison. The galant looks twice as good as those cars and is also faster than them as well. Do yourself a favor and buy a galant.
