Great looking car, roomy interior,comfortable

Brakes replaced 3 times in first 18 months; all seatbelt latches replaced twice in the first 6 months (would not stay latched; headliner has fallen 2 times now;

Had lots of trouble with the car in the 1st year. It was in the shop more than in my possession. Company does not show much interest in car owners and has made absolutely no effort to make us happy. After so many problems with the car, we met with a rep out of California, who said "What do you want us to do about it?" We will not own another Mitsubishi due to lack of customer care from the company.

Traded in a 1994 Ford Probe for the 1999 Galant. Loved the Probe and never had a bit of trouble with it. Wish I could say the same of the Galant, but unfortunately.....

Good pick up. Good in gas millage. Stable at any speed. If I were to buy another car I wouldn''t buy a Galant again.

Disks brakes already needed to be cut. Have to check a valve in the engine which is making noise. Dealer will do it. Car loses value too fast. When a/c on fan noise too loud. Came with cheap tires. They make the car wigle a little bit. Have to change them already.

Generally I like the car. I think I got a good deal. I bought it with 28,000 miles. However I would not buy it and dont recomend it to anyody. If gonna buy anyways shop around they have gotten a lot cheaper now.

I think it is a nice car, best car i''ve bought. Only thing is the computer went out when i first bought it, but other than that it rides nice and really goes. I love it.

a few too many repairs needed

I don't think that a nicer looking car could be purchased for the money. The drive is very comfortable, and the back seat fits two people comfortably. The car has adequate speed, which is a lot better than what the older Galants had. The upholstery is also better than the older models.
After driving the car for two years, I get the impression that the Galant will not go for 100,000 miles like many other Japanese cars. Some of the parts appear to be cheap. Also, the car has needed more repairs than I expected. When applying the brakes while driving fast, the steering wheel rattles. After getting this problem repaired, the problem re-appeared soon afterwards.
Overall, I would recommend the Galant to lease because of the exceptional lease deals and the good looks. I would not recommend the Galant to buy because I don't have faith in the longevity of the car.

Very Smooth Handling, Good at cornering. Very good at accelarate between 0-60 MPH.
Campare with other same class car, I think this 1995 Mitsubishi Galant ES is way better for those who like 4 doors and it has touring and racing feeling when you drive.
Inside the car, they have 6 speakers for your car-stereo.
They also have Computer Electronic Over-drive function to control your speed when you're doing a high-speed cornering.It also equipt with a power braking function when you turn on the over-drive function.

The cup holder is kinda of block the way or shifting Gear. Kinda of noisy when it goes on those bumps.

Good Looking, Body shape of the car is so round and smooth ( no shape and hard corner around the body).
Very good at touring(even on a wet road). It looks so luxury when you buy this model of car in a dark color.
Because not alot of people choose Mitsubishi Galant as their family/ midsize car. so it is so special when you own one.

I bought this used 1995 Mitsubishi Galant ES because I like this particular model of Galant so much.( it's kind of hard to find as a used car), coz most of the Galant only sell/sold in Califorina State.

Everything Mechanical about the car!

It is great to look at with plenty of room for my 6' 5 1/2" frame. It gets off the line fairly quick (if you don't have the AC on). Mechanically it is a piece of junk!!!!! The quality of metal/steel it is built with is very poor!!!! In the last four months I have had to replace every pully in the belt system, the internal timing belts, the AC compressure/clutch, and as I am writing it is having the transmission rebuilt - total cost this year in repairs = $2,722.41!!!!! This should not be with a car I have only had for less than two years and with low mileage on the odometer. As soon as my car is repaired, I plan to make a formal complaint to Mitsubishi for the poor quality of their equipment!

it's not a bmw m5

i bought a 2001 gtz about 2 months ago. i am very happy with the car. after driving an suv for a few years i feel like i am driving a bmw. the size is nice, not too big, not too small. the trunk size is good, not too big, not... the gtz comes with the sporty supsension and it feels good to me. i haven't driven any of the other galant models so i don't know how they compare. i am certainly able to take turns faster than in my isuzu rodeo, but what sedan can't. the engine feels plenty powerful. it won't exactly burn rubber, but it will move quite quick. especially accelerating to freeway speed or passing at speed. the gearing seems to be designed for acceleration at higher speeds, at least not from 0. the transmission is a little slow at downshifting sometimes, at least it would be nice if it were quicker when you floor the accelerator. but something one, at least i, can live with. it would be nice if a v6 model was available with a manual transmission, but it isn't. all around a great car for the price. and if you want a v6 for less you can always buy the es with a v6 and fewer options. the gtz has pretty much everything. leather, moon/sunroof, in dash cd player(an in dash 6 cd changer is optional), power everything, an alarm, etc. and i have been told that the engine can not be hot wired because it won't start without the chip that is in the key. fortunately haven't had to test that one yet.

there are no aftermarket accessories for this car. it took me forever to find a spring kit, by ground control and a performance intake, by injen also slight lack in power, this car needs more hp. Why isnt there manual transmission on v6 models and es 4cyl?

I got this car as a program car for 14000 with a spoiler. Thats one hell of a good deal to me. I liked the car when i got it, but immediately had to start fixing it up. Unfortunately, finding performance accessories for this car is pretty much impossible. I ended up tinting my windows putting a topspeed muffler, injen intake ground effects adjustable springs, 3 inch drop and some custom blue/ white bulbs on the fog lights and driving lights and some american racing rims on it. With all of these mods the car both looks good and sounds really good. It definately gets its share of looks from people when i drive by. If i had to do it again, i might buy a 2dr accord only bc it is easier to fix up. However, if you arent lookin to fix up your car and want a good import for your money, buy this car. Also could use some more power, but if you fix up the engine, power improves noticebly. Also, i noticed that if you accelerate sometimes the rpms will jump immediately from 3500 to 5500 or so rpms, which gets aggrevating sometimes. However, good value, looks better than plain old accord or camry.

I GOT AN EXTENDED (TO 100,000 MILES)BUMPER TO BUMPER. THAT WAY WHEN I HEAR ABOUT PEOPLE HAVING THESE PROBLEMS I CAN KNOW IF IT HAPPENS TO ME I WON'T HAVE TO PAY FOR IT. THIS CAR LOOKS AND DRIVES VERY FAST. I FIRST BROUGHT HOME THE CAMRY AND MY WIFE SAID IT LOOKED TOO PLAIN. THIS CAR MADE HER EYES RAISE. Very quick - only a 4 cylinder but this car has guts - Roomy - never any complaints, even with 5 passengers. Good looking car - large trunk, decent A/C - very convenient center console for storage - stable at high speeds

Paint's fading - (5 yrs in AZ will do that) - few dealers/repair shops - low resale - ugly interior - hard to sup up -

The car was a bargain (6500 before taxes/warranty) - had it two years and no major repairs except a blown water pump that the warranty covered - get away from that Honda Herd mentality and buy a real car!
