Strength:

It has aesthetic appeal... nice lines and flashy color. Looks sporty, onlookers mistakenly think it was expensive

Weakness:

Where do I start? Within a week of getting it, the power window broke on the driver's side. This is common for these cars. The transmission has been replaced once, the headlights are not sealed properly thus letting water in, the rearview mirror fell of without being touched, gets bad gas mileage, horrible turning radius, the paint is peeling on the bumper, the brakes have ceased to work properly, the trunk leaks, CD player does not work in hot weather, and the newest problem I have saved for last- the engine light is on, and the car shakes and dies at idle. I have taken it to a shop 9 times with no improvement. This morning, it started to make a squealing and clicking noise as well. Do not buy one of these cars.

This is the car from he**. Makes me miss my 2000 GS!

I love the sport-tronic transmission, and the back seat and trunk is larger than the older eclipses. I also love the color, mine is silver it is much prettier then the older one!

Weakness:

well none important, my stereo broke and my brakes used to squeak(warrenty fixed them:)!!

I love this car! It is so much fun and looks GREAT! I haven't had any problems, that the warrenty couldn't fix! I just make sure that i get my tune ups and oil changes every 3000 miles!!

Beautiful style Fast

Weakness:

Sunroof-numerous repairs Transmission-fully replaced already Doors don't close well Visor-clip broke

2002-GT Fully loaded Want to get ripped off? This car will do just that! I've owned this car for a year and had nothing but problems. Now I want to get rid of it and the trade-in value is only $13,000, even with low mileage and being in excellent condition. This car is worth $12,000 less than I paid only 1 year ago! Anyone thinking of buying this car, THINK TWICE!

Power, speed, quickness, and outstanding performance. Oh, by the way I have a top of the line GS-T!

Weakness:

I just need one more turbo,it's just to smoke people the more.

Look, I understand that sometimes in months to years we all sometimes have car problems,or let me make that a little clear for you all,we may even sometimes be the problem! Right. Righttttttt! I understand when a vehicle gets old, the parts begin to wear out and you have wear and tear. Well, how many of us just get in the car and just drive? The oil has not been changed since you bought the car, you want to race everyone and never check to see if something may be loose from the hard driving. Consider your car as the way you want to be treated. If you take care of yourself you will perform well. Take out a little time and see is it my car,or is it me!Just food for thought.

1.Gas mileage!!! 28 mile commute back and forth for a week uses an entire tank..not including everywhere else I go. 2.transmition needed replacing after 35k 3.some idiot lowered it and took out the rear speakers, so I need o get some...= 4.the tires leak and you can't tell till the rims are almost touching the ground 5.stock struts replaced and still not good... 6. Handle broke off 3 months after I got it..hand to pay $270 for a new one 7. because of the low profile...about 2 inches from the ground(at max height) alignment is constantly needing to be adjusted After talking to other eclipse owners..I've come the the conclusion...I got a lemon!!!

Ok...I've had this car for about...7 months now! and it's got it's strenght and weaknesses! Great little car I love the width! and for my (i'm kinda short) height it does great!

Strength:

good top speed plenty of room strong body for upgrades not too expensive doesnt use too much gas

Weakness:

mechanical problems

I like my 96' rs and havent had too many problems up until recently. Lately my car has been trying to shut off when I push in the clutch, the rpms just drop to zero. Other than that I have had no other problems with it. I plan to spend a little money on aftermarket items after I pay it off but for right now I only have exhaust, intake, window tint, front and rear strut bars, bosch platinum 4 sparkplugs(must have), and headlight covers(for looks). If anybody else has had the same problem with their eclipse or any vehicle for that matter that I have had with my car then please let me know what you did about it. Email BrandonFrye2003@yahoo.com

Strength:

Powerful V6 Nimble Lots of low-end torque

Weakness:

It has the turning radius of a tank. Electrical system - stereo system, switches, etc. - faulty and cannot get it fixed - Manufacturer will not work with the dealer to find a solution Trunk/hatchback lifters - not strong enough to lift (very heavy) trunk lid ABS doesn't work in cold weather

This car looks great and gets plenty of attention. It's got plenty of power and torque. The GT is the V6 model. I have 15,000 miles on it, and have never driven anything with as many problems as this vehicle. This car is on its 2nd sunroof switch, 2nd cruise switch, 3rd radio, 2nd amplifier, 3rd display unit (for the radio, time, temp, etc.), 2nd side-impact airbag sensor, & 2nd set of sparkplug wires. Additionally, when it snows, or gets icy the anti-lock brakes do not want to function properly. The manufacturer will not stand behind their product. The dealer has made attempt after attempt to fix the car, but it still has not worked. If you can find one cheap & still under warranty it will be a good car if you don't mind spending lots of time at the dealer getting it worked on. I previously owned 2 Nissans, and was hoping that this foreign vehicle would be just as maintenance-free. It does not meet my expectations and I would not recommend it.

Model Reviewed: Mitsubishi Eclipse RS

Strength:

Good accelaration speeds.(140 hp) Nice sound system. Roomy front driver and passenger seats. Nice front dash board: makes it feel like you got a second skin. The designers succceded in that department. Big trunk: good for putting a sound system or going of trips. Overdrive system is great for that extra boost on the freeway. Real eye catcher.

Weakness:

Low quality brakes. There is squeaking sound in the brakes in the morning because the car is cold. Then when it warms up it goes away. Once you try to burn someone so they wont cut you off.... say goodbye to your gas tank. Since all ECLIPSE's have a low front bumper, in time they all get scraped, especially in drive ways and bumps.

I've had this car for 8 months now and I must tell you that I love it. Yes I know it is the basic non-turbo RS version but I just simply can't afford the AWD GSX version. I am 19 years old, all I could afford was the RS version. Other than that it is an awsome car. I put some 18" chromed wheels on it and it makes the car stand out even more since it's black. The original paint job is in perfect condition. I keep it that way because I keep it in a garage. The interior is well taken care of and I polish it every month to keep it looking good. It is a good and fast car to move you around heavy traffic. When I'm on the freeway it gets me around slow cars very quickly. The overdrive helps to. I'm saving money to put a turbo on it. The only thing I have added other than the chromed 18" wheels is two light blue fog lights on the front bumper. I like this car alot. I mean, any ECLIPSE regardles of the version is a nice, fast looking car. When I'm done paying for the one I have, I plan to look around and see if I can find a GSX version being sold somewhere. E-mail me if you are selling a GSX version. Othe than that ECLIPSE's are great and fun cars to own. They turn heads if taken care properly. The first think I was complemented on were my 18" chromed wheels. The best view of any ECLIPSE car is the back bumper with the wide tail light. Once they go on, it just catches your eyes from a distance. I just think it was awful that the 2000+ models chaged the whole look of he car. It just not the same anymore with new new eclipse's. Well if you own a 1999 or below eclipse... rock on. we've got some nice a$$ lookin cars!!!.
