Strength:

Solid and Fun.

Weakness:

Transmission Quit at 112k

Leased then later bought this one new in '91. The lease deal was great. $3000 down and $150 a month for 36 months. I ended up buying it out about halfway through the lease. Total cost was about $17,000. after all lease payments, down payment and buyout. Not bad for a car that stickered for $19,800.

An early problems included fuel gauge indication problems. Fixed under warranty. The service and treatment you get from the Infinity dealer is incredable. Loaner car and my car was always returned washed inside and out.

I did all of the scheduled maintance myself. I usually got the parts from the Nissan Dealer. Plugs and all the electrical parts. Just ask for '91 Sentra SE-R engine parts. [Same engine]

Wore out the 1st set of front brake pads at 40k. Drove this car very hard. I was putting 20-22k miles on this car a year for the 1st 3 years. So the 60k mile warranty came to an end sooner that I hoped. The a/c compressor and evaporator went dead at 78k Miles. No local garages could get the parts for a deal so off to the Dealer I went. About $750.00 later [the compressor was $500 itself] I had it going again.

No problems till 112k miles. The transmission started slipping one day. I tried to get the dealer to give me a quote to rebuild it. They said they would have to look at it first and tear it down. Being that they are 60 miles away. I took it to the Aamco shop. They said $1200 to rebuid the transmission. I said do it. Then it was the torque converter. After that the govenor was bad. $2000. later I was out the door. They showed me all the parts that where bad. What could I do.

Now it has about 177k on it and it still runs fine. I figure I have about $20k total into it. I hope to get at least 2-3 more years out of it. I just keep on driving it. I drive about 65 miles a day mostly highway to and from work 4 days a week. I mostly cruise about 80-90 mph everyday.

I have never had it in for a tuneup. The local nissan Dealer has a $50. tuneup including plugs. They cost about $8.00 each. So I'll take it in and I won't be surprised if it does not run any better. Who knows?

I might buy another one if this one ever fails again. Who knows I kind of want something with a little more power. Maybe a '91-95 Acura Legend coupe. My brother has one w/ 150k on it that he bought brand new in '91. Lot of money back then $31,000. He has never done nothing major to it.

Strength:

Reliablity, handling, stops on a dime!

Weakness:

A little to much road noise for me.

Paid about 25,000.00 bought brand new (rolled off the showroom)and have over 128,000 miles. Never had one problem with this vehicle. This is my second new G-20. I can not say enough about the way this car handles.
This car is more for someone who likes road handling more than comfort of ride. Test drove, kept overnight and do not like the way it handles as well. This has been a great car. I probably do not service it like I should and it still keeps going & going. Should also note I drive pretty hard & fast! Still no problems

Strength:

Nice acceleration, tight steering, fun, realiable vehicle

Weakness:

Boring to look at

Bought the 1991 G20 from a dealer in 1993 and have enjoyed driving it ever since. No significant complaints about the vehicle other than the motor in the drivers side electric window going out and the dealer taking me to the cleaners for the repair. Have throughly enjoyed driving the vehicle for 83,000 miles...

This car is a very tight car, alot of standard features. It has the luxury with out the $signs. The dealership was very generous and was able to get all the options i wanted. The car has enough power to get you places in style, ands has sharp handling.

Weakness:

none yet. every Infiniti and Nissan I've owned has been great.

Get this car and you'll love it.

Compared to honda Accord has similar power and handling but the G20 offers more, and comes standard with alot more.

Strength:

Great warrenty and a smooth ride.

Weakness:

Cup holders are too small.

Prior to buying this car, I had driven 5 Toyota's - the last three were Camrys. I like the size of this Infiniti, the Camry is a larger car but the G20's interior is just as roomy as the Camry. This car drives "smoother" than any other car I have driven and handles the turns tight. I feel very in control when driving my G20. It is a good looking car, quite, easy to maneuver and affordable. I have heard nothing but compliments since I bought my new car 4 weeks ago. People tell me that the G20 style is somewhere between a BMW 325i and an Audio A4.

Strength:

Leather, cd player, bose stereo, sports wheels, sunroof. And most of that is basic.

Weakness:

Its only come in a V4.

Well, let me tell you a story. I recently bought this car 2 weeks ago. I had a choice G20, Maxima, or a Jetta. Don't get me wrong but they all great cars. I chose the g20 because not only does it give you comfort, but also reliability. The other cars have that to but the Maxima will cost you a couple more grand for a basic one and a Jetta is not the most reliable car in the market. This car offers a great price, bose system, leather, etc... The Jetta make look slick but not when its broken down on the side of the road. If you got the cash I say go for the Maxima(the most reliable car on the market). But if you want cheaper version of the Maxima get an Infiniti G20.

Strength:

very dependable, looks nice and unique, great warranty, handles great and has a smooth ride.

Weakness:

no cup holder, not much power with a/c on.

I think its a great car. I bought the car used with extended warranty. the car now has a little over 90,000 miles and I just recently took it in to get motor in drivers window replaced, and leaking transmition gasket, and fuel sending unit replaced, all were covered under the extended warranty. before that I never had any problems with car at all! It still drives great, rides quiet and smooth (knocking on wood now). I like the room inside car and trunk and think its a great car for driving in and out of traffic.
I get compliments on the car all the time, and would be interested in buying another one, since I have also driven the 2000 G20 and feel it has great quality and performance.
