It's red.
Weakness:
Seatbelt didn't extend or retract - sat in my lap. The dealer blew me off, until a recall! I've been frozen inside the car (without being locked!), I've been frozen out multiple times (in 35 degree weather!), there must be one coat of paint on it, cause everything chips it to the metal...and that darn tire thing! It's small and cramped. I miss my Grand AM!!!!!!!!!! DO NOT BUY HYUNDAI!!!!!! I have never felt so ripped off in my life. I have had the weirdest problems with this car, and been completely let down by the dealership and Hyundai. Hyundai never even replies! What a piece of junk, can't wait to be rid of it. My car insurance just increased because I have a Tiburon, and the insurance agent can't figure out why! I just blew a tire and found out that replacements on this 4cylinder kiddie car are in the $175.00 a PIECE range! Because they're "high performance"!~ I'm old enough to know what a high performance car is, and let me tell ya....ain't no way! This is just an Elantra with a sporty body, and they call it a "sports car." PLEASE!!! It's goes from 0 - 60 in a minute (and that's going downhill!) This car sucks. |

Strength:
Stylish looks, low insurance, peppy engine
Weakness:
In the wintertime snow tends to get piled up and stuck in the wheelwells (keep in mind, I live in Nebraska) I have been completely satisfied and more with this car. I have experienced no problems whatsoever. The stereo is the best stock system I have heard, besides the ones in the new tibs. Overall the best car I have owned at this kind of price, I would recommend to anyone! |

Corners like its on rails. V6, sequential auto. Great looking "Is that a Hyundai - NO WAY!!!". 5 year warrentee
Weakness:
Radio antenna, 4 not 5 speed auto, no external temperature guage. Hyundai name (but they are getting so much better - this is proof) First of all, this is a review of the "2003" model of the Tiburon (What? It's only 2002!). In Aus, the previous models weren't refered to as a Tiburon, but rather as the "Coupe" (seems the Aus Hyundai team here didn't think the previous models deserved the Spanish name for 'Shark'). I've had this car for less than a week, so why did I spend AUD$40k for such a car? Well, it was a matter of luck I guess as I wasn't even looking at a Hyundai due to their dubious record of the past... I was actually looking at the Mitsubishi Sports (here as Magna, but in the US it's called a Diamante or something). I took my partner down to a Mitsubishi dealer to have a look at a Magna when by chance (this Mitsu Dealer is also the Largest Hyundai Dealer in Aus) we walked past the Tiburon. It looked very nice and as I hadn't read any reviews on it, though I had briefly seen some uninspiring pics of it on the web, it looked VERY nice in the flesh! Not that we were looking for an out-right 'sports' car but it started me thinking... So I did some research on the web and found out it came in a V6 with sequential shift auto - Mmmmmm! I had been looking at the Mazda Astina SP20 which was excellent to drive and had extremely firm and solid handling, but I didn't really want another '4' (wouldn't consider an auto in a 4 cylinder and as I'm reaching middle life I wanted the luxury of an auto). So, I thought that the Mitsu would have to be the go - however it handled like a 'big' car and as I was used to driving smaller 4 cylinders sports varieties, I didn't feel comfortable in a bigger car - but the specs on the Mitsu were amazing with the quickest acceleration times of any of locally produced big 6's and even 8's! The Mitsu also came with a 5 speed sequential shift, so it was pretty tempting to own that much technology, but, I didn't like driving it. So, I took the Tiburon for a test drive (the 6 speed manual). Hmmm, it certainly had some legs and was quick and handled pretty well, though not as well as the Mazda. It seemed a little back heavy to me though the steering was very direct and it felt solid on the road - went around corners like its on rails. The V6 had plenty of torque, but having to change 6 gears was a little boring after a while (though great fun to start with - I must be getting old!). My partner liked the finish of the interior and the quality of the cloth trim Similar Products Used: Previous (sports) cars: '67 MGB MkI '79 Mazda RX4 (wow, I still had pleasant dreams about that car for ten yars after it died) '64 Ford Consul Cortima GT440 (great car, but old - I had it for 7 yea |

HANDLING, i was messing round with high speed turns, grip was tight! and the tilt wasnt that bad either. comfortable as hell in the inside, (for the front 2 seats).
Weakness:
only thing is the subwoofer. But wut do u expect, it came standard with the car, u cant expect a boomin system Awesome Awesome Awesome, i still remember the looks on my freind's faces when i told them that it was a hyundai. 2003 is a breakthrough year for the Hyundai tiburon. This car is just HOT, ive had it for bout a week and its beautiful, and that dual exhaust....man...if your thinkin bout getting a tiburon, get the V6, it makes driving so much more fun. uhhhhhhhh....what strengths? Can we say a LEMON, and a dealership that must pride itself on screwups. As an example, two months into the purchase, problems with the dealership processing the loan still have me waiting to make my first payment when by now I should have already have made two.....going to love having to come up with a huge balloon payment here.
Weakness:
Problems with electrical system, malfunctioning horn, dead batteries (four), car in shop for seventeen days to address issues, and none of the issues were fixed...car needs to go in now for a second go round, and no telling how long they will have the car. Loan issues, brake issues, aliegnment issues and the list goes on. In short, the worst piece of JUNK I have every had the misfortune of owning. This car has been nothing but problems from the first day I drove it, and the litany of service issues and poor roadside assitance have me pulling my hair out, and using the services of an attorney in the hopes of some kind of satisfaction. Similar Products Used: Have owned a LOT of cars seeing as I have put over 2 million miles under my belt in my 46 yars of life....this by far is the WORST car I have ever owned....if you are thinking of buying a Hyundai, run |

Exterior and interior looks gorgeous. 17" rims are one of a kind. V6 engine runs really smooth.
Weakness:
-No room in the back seats. (no big deal) -sunroof has been changed already. -drive shaft has been changed too. -hyundai emblems on the 17' rims are falling off. -little horsepower for a V6 I was never into hyundai's. didnt like the look of them and didnt think there was much performance in the engines. My girlfriend pointed out the new tiburon and i thuoght i'd just go take a look at it. turns out that they did a really good job designing this one. took the GT for a spin and it was a nice ride. so i bought the GT in black on black leather. Honestly the car looks amazing but i wouldnt recomend it. my drive shaft has been changed already, my sunroof had to be fixed and the hyundai emblems on the 17' rims are falling off. all this and i've had the car for about 5 days. i have 5 years warrenty on the car so i'm not too worried. before my warrenty is up i'm selling the car. very fast for a 4 cylinder.140hp not to bad for a little car like that.Very good sound in the stereo when its working.A++ for the sunroof like it alot.Garanty is very very good.Would cost me alot if i didnt have that.
Weakness:
well let's see...It a nice piece of shi*.I have add 7 beringues change..the first one was change at only 10 000km...transmission are a big fu*k all add to change mine at 45 000km.All my lights went off..add to replace them inside and out.Stereo is fu*k up.When I put my air on the sound goes up.Every month i have to put air in my tires cause it's fu*k.Wipers are no good.Buy some new one to start with.Suspension is no good mine was replace a year after i bought my car.Very noisy. The brakes makes alot of noises.Everything sticks to the seat.very hard to clean.Do not drive more then 150 you will red line and youll probably losse control.Does not ride very smooth..Anyways think you get the point.lots more little things that are shi*ty.Not even worth trying the 2003 even if it looks very hot.In a year it will mostly become a piece of scrap to. At first people toll me not to buy this car..It was a piece of junk. But I really like it especialy for the price. In 2000 the new model came in and I like it alot so I decided to go a head and buy It.Very sporty and fully loaded.I think its the nicest one on the market unless your thinking about something thats 30.000$+ like a celica or something. Have you seen the car? It looks great-there's not a car out there that looks the same. Plenty of options-you can get whatever you want in this car. Not bad on gas, would probably be better if I slowed down a bit. Manual 6-speed proves that it's a true sport!
Weakness:
Well, the lighting isn't the best and there is no room in the back seat. Also, had to have trunk released fixed and had a disconnected wire in the sub wolfer. I purchased my Tiburon in February and I can't even begin to tell you how much I LOVE this car. I thought the previous model was cute, but this one just rocks! I have about 5500 miles on it and have had no major problems. There's not an import out there in the class that can compare. My brother bought an Eclipse last year and is now regretting it! Fun to drive and very affordable, I have no regrets! Anyone in the Orlando area-Universal Hyundai was a great dealership to work with. Looks are one of a kind... Turns heads... Since the modifications I take the long way home everytime. Engine with slight mods is all the power you need (get a 5 speed) Interior is a compilation of an Audi TT...Mazda Miata... with futuristic accents. Price... Need I say more.
Weakness:
I''ve heard something about the cupholder... but I don''t eat or drink in mine, so I''m not going to complain... The rear view mirror does vibrate with engine hum.. A thick rubberband markered black and placed up and around solves it though... I''m not complaining. I have owned my Tib for nearly 6 months. I bought it brand new and have only returned to the dealership for the two free oil changes promised. I don''t know what to say to those of you suffering what seems to be a select malfunction problem. Let me just say... for the money... none compare! I bought it for just over 13,000 a somewhat bone model. I have invested 3000 in mods and now am the envy of the street, town, state... etc. If you tally up the two numbers thats 16000... less than a civic SI... An eclipse GTS... and the High end Celica. And I pass them like there standing still. To those of you having troubles with your Tib.. Get another one. If you want to be another one of the sheep... by yourself a Honda Civic...
