Strength:

Excellent style, proformance.

Weakness:

Minor trouble with the trunk release, seatbelts and locks sticking.

This is a GREAT car! I've put 65,000 kms on it in a year and had no major problems with it. Only minor cosmetic. Great price for all the features. Great proformance. It's a little on the small side interior wise but i'm 6'4, but not that bad, put the seat back and you're good to go. I can't wait to see the 2002 and see how the V6 works out.

Great car, Great price!!

This car is so great, the best I've ever had. I tinted it and put in a sound system and now it's better than ever...add some personal touches and this car is even more unique...everyone stops me and says, "That's a Hyundai?!" in disbelief...it's overall the best car put out in 2000...

Strength:

Wow, what can I say, this car is more fun than any car I have driven and I am 46 and driven a few in my lifetime! It handle great and I love is design inside and out. I don't think the cars are cheap, but I haven't seen a 2000 or earlier. I got the full package with leather and sunroff, fog lights, back wiper, CD player, etc and it looks beautiful inside. I have gone over the car in detail and it appears very well made in every way. Mine is the 5 speed and it has great acceleration, even up hills. The first time I took it on a trip, I thought the semi trucks would blow me over, but I didn't even feel them next to me, they car is so stable. I was going 75mph once, up a grade to boot, and it didn't even feel like I was going that fast! I had a passenger with me and she couldn't believe we were going that fast too and she owns a Chevy SUV. I was driving a full size Ford truck with a 351 engine in it, before this car....and guess what...I don't miss it! This care is well made, peppy and fun for the "forever young". For the price, this car can't be beat....I don't think. My brother works in parts at the place I bought it from and he says that Hyundai has really stood behind their warranties. I know I haven't had the car very long, but I love it so far. I have owned 2 Ford trucks, many Nissans and a Yukon and this car is one of the nicest I have ever owned or driven. We bought the 2001 Accent for our daughter and she has had no problems and loves her car as well. Everything on my car works perfectly, and I hope that it stays that way. I have read some bad reviews on this site and I hope they just got a lemon or, they don't know how to rate cars well. Happy Tiburon driving!

Weakness:

I have to agree with some others on this site, that I don't like where the cup holder is. But, I am planning on using my console for the big drinks or buying a foam cup to protect my CD player. I think their could be a little more head room and a little more room in the "cockpit", but this is my first "sports" car and they all seem to be that way. I am only 5'4" and not fat, but I am getting used to getting in and out of it better now. The sunroof takes up some of the head room, I was told, and that is why my head seems so close to the roof. But again, I was used to driving a pickup truck. This wouldn't be a good family car or for someone that had major physical problems. You have to be in fair shape to get in and out of the car and to shift gears.

Cute, really fun to drive, sylish, well made, peppy (5 speed manual) and turns on a dime! Very affordable even if you want leather. I never thought I could afford a car like this and now I have one! The best car warranty anywhere and you don't have to pay extra for it!!!

NONE...that I can think of!! This little car is really in a class all it's own and I understand they are changing the body style for 2002.

Strength:

Great handling, smooth gear shifting. Interior looks very nice with the imitation steel trim. Lots of options come standard with a very god price.
Very unique looking. Unbelievable comfortable front seats. Overall great ride.

Weakness:

Although the interior looks nice it is pretty cheap. The car squeaks bad. There is constant squeaking coming from the dash. THe seatbelts don't retract properly. There also is no bass from the sound system. Unless you put in aftermarket subwoofers.

This car is a great deal. For the price you pay you get the best car. Tons of options come with the base. And a good warranty. Once you look past all the cosmetic things you notice that the car is not of the highest quality. But hey, its great quality for the price.

IVE HAD THE CAR ALMOST 30 MONTHS PUT ALMOST 100,000 MILES ON IT AND I HAVENT HAD A SINGLE PROBLEM WITH IT! ITS QUICK, BUT I HAVE DONE SOME MODS, EXHAUST, INTAKE, ETC. EVERYONE WHO RIDES IN IT ASKS, WHAT KIND OF CAR IS THIS? HYUDAI. REALLY? I DIDNT KNOW HYUNDAI MADE A CAR LIKE THAT. LIKE I SAID 103,000 MILES $13,900 AND NOT ONE PROBLEM. ALSO IM 6 FOOT 1 AND THE CAR HAS PLENTY OF ROOM.

Weakness:

I ALMOST BOUGHT A NEW CAR BUT THE BEST PRICE I GOT FOR MY CAR WAS $6,000, TERRIBLE RESALE. PAINT HAS FADED A LITTLE BIT BUT THATS WHAT I GET FOR BUYING A BLACK CAR IN NEW ORLEANS LA.

ID RECOMMEND IT IF YOU WANT A QUICK, CHEAP LITTLE COUPE THAT WONT GIVE YOU ANY TROUBLE.

Exterior is sharp, the interior is spectacular, not to mention the acustical value! 2 12' subs easily fit the inte trunk, plenty of power and handling to keep and pass with those suped up hondas on Pa backroads!

Weakness:

cup holders...no cupholders, that i have found, can't handle a super double big gulp but hey you can't have everything. The seat belts tend to tangle if your in a rush.

sharp, good fuel economy....and i would tend not to just for the plain reason that i am the only one in hackettstown with a 2000!

Strength:

The looks are unique. Not boxy looking like most cars. Sleek looking. Handling is good, power is good, sure we could all use 'more power', but at 140HP, it's fine. And there are aftermarket carriers, like SharkRacing, HVE, MHP. You just have to look. Check out www.fxtreme.org for more information. The interior is very nice, comfy seats, aerodynamic look.

Weakness:

2 fast food cups in the cupholders give you no access to the stereo.. but I have a remote so that's OK.

Highly reccomended. It's a very fun car.

Strength:

It handles great and is pretty comfortable. The back seats lay forward to make for a huge trunk area. Nice interior+exterior. Runs really smooth, even at high speeds.

Weakness:

Could use a little more power, but currently fine for normal driving. The seatbelts always seem to get tangled. The cup-holders place cups directly covering the radio controls.

This is a great car for the price. I paid a couple thousand more for a Subaru Impreza 2.5 RS and it wasn't as good as the Tiburon. It could use more power, but to keep things legal.. it has plenty at 153 hp. Hyundai's integrity has been questioned in the past, but this is a new kind of car/company.

Similar Products Used:

1999 Subaru Impreza 2.5 RS. This 'rally' car was slightly more powerful than the Tiburon, but lacked some options that I preferred. The trunk was small and the back seats didn't lay forward. The car always jerked when shifting.. nearly impossible to get a smooth gear transition. The steering wheel shook pretty badly at speeds over 55 mph. For a 'sports car' the body wasn't very 'sporty'.

Strength:

I love it, I bought the fully loaded version, CD, Moonroof, Leather etc...
it is very comfortable, I'm 6'1 and have no problems with getting in and out of the car. Good acceleration and the handling is fun.

Weakness:

The back seat is kinda uncomfortable if I were to sit back there, but given that it is MY car, I don't plan on ever sitting back there.

I paid $16,500 for mine and think it is worth every penny. I have had no problems with the car and even if I did, who cares, everything is covered so I can relax and just drive. I like the body styling, I love the cool looking interior. Just plain fun. People has compared it with the new Celicas, sure they have a bit more power but you are also going to pay a bigger price for it, if you are going for power, buy a Mustang. I deliver pizza in mine, and it gets complemented all the time. For the price, warranty and overall cool aspects of this car, I would seriously take it into consideration.

Similar Products Used:

I've owned a 77' Celica, 69'Oldsmobile 442, and an 84' Rabbit. My Tiburon handles better than all of those and my brothers 91' Mustang.
