Strength:

Good fuel economy, very good for weaving through traffic...I live and drive in NYC and I'm able to cut off those annoying cabbies with ease while driving through Chinatown, Park Ave, FDR Drive, Good warranty, good for the driver who wants to get from point A to point B.

Weakness:

Skinny wheels, poor tires, bad for icy or snowy weather, poor traction, if you like to race down expressways and do some fancy changing lanes not the car for you, poor acceleration, above 60mph you really gotta push the car to go faster, body is weak if you get into an accident..the slightest collision will cause a lot of damage, parts hard to find.

This car was very fun to drive at first but the tires...don't have good traction...which creates a rather unsafe situation when you have to brake suddenly or on icy...climate...car tends to slip and slide....However its very good for manhattan driving....one of the most congested islands in the country....its very good for squeezing through tight corners....and cutting people off however its lacks the acceleration which is required to get in front of them....it looks like an attractive car...but the body is plastic....so becareful on the road...not like its american counterparts with the strong bodies...all in all its good for the driver who wants to get from point a to point b not for the racer like myself

Toyota Camry, Toyota Corolla, Honda Accord...I am easily able to beat these cars on the road...i've tried to keep up with bmws, mercedes, mustangs, but this baby cant compete....

Strength:

Nice looking car with a lot of features for the price.
New 1.6 engine with 106hp pulls nicely [manual trans.]there is enough power
Product seems good but cannot say the same for dealers.
There is nothing new that can compare at this price.

Weakness:

Dealer service dept. has an attitude, very bad sign.
Bad interior smell after sitting in the sun.
Seems like the P.D.I is just a money grab because there was a few items that needed to be addressed from day one like offcenter steering wheel etc.

So far okay but i am noticing a few weird things like windsheild washer fluid coming out of the nozzles without my input!!!.Gearshift is inconsistent, grunts going into 2nd sometimes and also 5th to 4th.hopefully this will change as it breaks in [or breaks up].I have been driving manual shift for 20 years, i d'ont think it is me.A few times i pressed on the gas pedal and got a delayed response from the engine??,also at stop lights it does not want to go into first gear [clutch to the floor, car stationary, tried more than once????].Drivers side seatbelt buckle sqeaking fixed with some silicone spray.
The clarion am/fm/cd deck is awesome.
Paint sucks, scratches very easily and looks very thin.
All in all drives nice and you get what you paid for.

Strength:

The car has great gas mileage. I am getting about 37 miles to the gallon just driving around town. And 40 miles on highway. It looks nice and handles really well.

Weakness:

very light wiehgt car. Not good on the ice. and parts are really hard to find. and expensive to fix. the acceleration is not that great but since it is light weight it is not that bad. The cluch is very soft

It is a great first car. NOT A RACE CAR. If you want a car that you canrace go fot the probe. If you want a cheap reliable car taht gets you were you need to be get the accent. Its real easy on the wallet too. It is not easy to find parts for it though i have been trying to find a ground effects kit for it and cant find one. IF you know of a place i can find grond effects for thsi car email Sfiorentino@gbcnet.net . I recomend this car to anyone that is looking fo a cheap reliable car.

I have driven a ford probe but that is a sports car so it handles better it is faster and believe or not the gas mileage is abotu the same but the accent is cheaper.

Strength:

Well the accent has decent power just for a lightweight vehicle and suprisingly the car is now upgraded with a cold air intake and performance exhaust combining a total of 122 horses. The autosite performance data says it does
0-60 10.8sec..stock
0-60 i did stock was 10.12sec i shift pretty fast i'm a good shifter
0-60 with intake/exhaust 8.81sec.. believe it or not i gtech it. The car's factory weight is only 2243pds, makes the car fast plus other honda/toyota/subaru vehicles weigh in between 2600-3200 pds making my car almost 400-1000 pds lighter. Have done 100 mph flat a few times don't know what the top speed is i don't really want to blow out the engine though but by guessing maybe 103-108mph tops.

Weakness:

Do not like the stereo system it's weak"the volume is low when turned up".
Car shakes alittle when driving with windows down doing 85/above.

The car has decent power really wanted a sporty type with more horses, looked on getting a Hyundai Tiburon i test drove one"man that was one mean beast had average power for a 2.0l 140hp 133trq. But overall i'm glad i picked the accent it was alot cheaper and had good performance and quality.
I plan for this babe to last for a long time with it being 2 yrs old with only 13,543 miles on it.

Strength:

Good price, great gas milege

Weakness:

Noisy ride. When driving in the rain with windows down an inch or so TOO MUCH water comes in (beads up windsheild and gets sucked right in to car). Ruff shifting manual trans. Could use a bit more horsepower.

Compared to some of the reviews I've read, I guess I'm lucky. I've had mine 2 1/2 years now and have put on 107 500 KM mostly highway. The ONLY problem I've had was within the first week the "check engine" light kept coming on which the dealer suspected was because of a short in one of the sensor wires. This problem was fixed under warrantey and I haven't had a problem with anything since!! I think if you follow the maintence schedual closely (like regular oil changes etc.) you should avoid some of the problems others have experienced. But then again, maybe I should knock on wood.

Strength:

cheap price (had just 17,000 miles on the clock), good at cruising long haul drives, comfortable, spacey, good engine, seems economic fuelwise

Weakness:

tacky dashboard, plastic door handles, slow acceleration, very very heavy steering

Well i've only had this car for 6 months or so, but so far so good. i managed to haggle a lot off the asking price ($6,083 to $5240) and the only problem i've had with it (the throttle went) was fixed within the day by my dealer and was free as part of my one year warranty. i do about 500 miles a week, and it doesn't complain. i do have a funny feeling in the back of my mind that something serious will go wrong with it a day or two after my warranty runs out though!

remarkable performance, for a (1.5 liter) Decent looking car. fuel economy is ok. I just love to drive it ......

Weakness:

I hate the plastic door handles because the doors/trunk freeze closed,(when its -40 below) It's also light as hell so on the ice it took some getting use to.

responds nicely . I have over 130,000.miles and have not had to do any big repairs, this car still looks/ run's great. Trust me we drive the p*ss out of this car. I'm surprised how well it has held up here in fairbanks. I haven't had none of the troubles that other reviewers claim to have experienced. Like I said It looks and drives great...... I would recommend this car to anyone with a limited budget.

Strength:

Looks, road manerisms, economy, pep, value, and overall very good.

Weakness:

A little underpowered, but what can you expect from a small engine.

Owning this car since 1997, I've had no problems whatsoever. It's a great little compact car with looks to go with it. Although it is an automatic, the 1.5L DOHC engine puts out 105hp and 102 ft lbs of torque. It goes and keeps up with other vehicles although is not a drag racer by anymeans. It fits its role as a compact car that gets you where you want it to. The aftermarket products for Hyundai's are not as readily available like other cars which have been around for more years, but it is growing and I look forward to sprucing up the car with some performance enhancemnets. There are products out there, you just have to look for them. Overall this is a great little car and I've really enjoyed owing it for the last few years and I will still enjoy owning it for years to come. A great car at a great value, what more could I ask for?

Strength:

Reliability and snow traction.

Weakness:

The seat is uncomfortable, but nothing a $20 lumbar cover from K Mart didn't fix!

I bought the car with 28.800 miles on it. It now has 57,900 miles on it, and has been a most reliable car. The only problem I had with it was a need to replace the original battery last Thanksgiving (2000) which is to be expected in any car. I am impressed by the quality of this inexpensive car. I would compare it to a Honda Civic or Toyota Tercel. True, there are people who dont like Hyundais, but that is true of any car, including Honda and Toyota.

Is more reliable than my '86 Dodge Colt was, which cost me more and didn't even have air. The colt was a reliable car, too!
