My drag racing career has suffered Steering wheel is low for average sized male When my Plymouth died I needed a new car, but as the car search began I quickly became discouraged with the lack of choices in my price range. My preliminary internet research showed that my only new car options were Kia, Hyundai, or, if I could get a very good deal, a Chevy Cavalier or Ford Focus ZX3. I liked the Focus but couldn''t get it down into my price range. The Chevy (or at least the one I drove) was shabby considering the price, and the Kia was nothing to get excited over. Imagine my delight when I drove the Accent and actually liked it. Two days later I purchased it. That was a few weeks ago, and I don''t at all feel like I "settled" for a Hyundai. It''s fun to drive, and if the reliability turns out to be decent I''ll definitely be shopping Hyundai in six, seven, or hopefully ten years when I need a new car. I wish the American manufacturers had something to offer the entry level car buyers like myself. Similar Products Used: Plymouth Sundance |

Strength:
It has the strength of an empty popcan(who knows what it would be like in an accident). Sure it''s spacious, but no one would/should be willing to ride in a car that will very likely cause extreme injuries or most likely, death. A good stroke of luck is that the steering column han''t snapped off yet. What a predicament that would be.
Weakness:
That the air conditioning has held out for so long. Hyundai has to make sure to fire the one responsible for allowing it to last more than two days. I''m sure my car''s AC will not dissapoint me this summer though. I have mixed feelings about this little car. Ya it looks ok, but that is only if there are no dents in it''s crappy, plastic doors. I don''t know where to start with all the stupid problems I''ve had with it. The vents for the heat register actually FELL OUT leaving gaping black holes in my dashboard, the driver side window does not shut properly, the seatbelt holders in the back were already snapped off when I purchased the vehicle, the fabric for the seats are easily torn, the lighter does not work, the windshield wipers have stoppped working, and so on. The transmission stinks, it shifts extremely hard especially when cold, it lurches as you slow down from speeds over 2 km/hour, the speedometer cable snapped which requires parts to be flown in from JAPAN, it needs oil changes regularily, the tires that it came with had less traction than laytex, wind noise just driving in the city much less than the highway is loud and annoying, speakers that came with the car couldn''t do justice to Raffy. I truly despise this car. I would not recomend it to anyone. Well only to people stupid enough to think that looks are everything, who love to say how "cute" it is. They should really just stick to dolls. Similar Products Used: Barbies Convertible, which is much more reliable. Ford Focus 2001. 1998 Dodge Dakota. 2001 GMC Sierra. Mazda 626. Nissan Ultima |

Strength:
handles great, good size (I''m 4''11")yet still four doors for all passengers to get out easily. Good pick up and go
Weakness:
gas milage stinks(apprx 260 per tank),no auto windows or locks I originally bought this car because of the advertised good gas milage (looking to save a little $ before starting a family) and the size/looks. So far I love this car more than I thought possible for an inexpensive car(as opposed to saying "cheap car")I agree with most that the tires are aweful when stock, that''s why the first thing I did was buy 16" rims and tires! It handles great on our curvey coast lines. My husband made fun of me when I wanted to buy it, now we argue who gets to drive on the weekends:)Some complained of it''s being too low to the ground, all cars are low, just learn to go up driveways at an angle! Strength:
For a base car came with plenty of features: A/C, AM/FM Cass., Power Steering and brakes. Excellant gas mileage Very reliable Not that bad looking
Weakness:
Too many interior rattles Ugly hard plastic dash Wind noise, actually noise in general, hopefully the new Accent has better sound insulation, because this car can get loud on windy days. I bought it used with 22,000 on the clock and now has over 106,000. It has proven to be very reliable only problem was with oxygen sensors, had everyone of them replaced to make the "check engine" light go out, other than that it has been outstanding. It looks nicer than other cars of that vintage and type (Geo Metro, Suziki Swift, Ford Aspire). Have taken it on long trips and it is reasonably comfortable. Couldn''t ask for better mileage, I average about 35mpg. I''d buy another Hyundai based on my time with this car. Similar Products Used: 1988 Plymouth Sundance 1986 Toyota Camry |

Strength:
great mileage (aprox 330 miles per tank), handles great, tight steering, tight brakes, great AC, average CD system, and for the size of the car its pretty quick on demand, trunk is oversized and pretty comfortable. BLAST TO DRIVE!!!!!
Weakness:
have to agree on dents & scratches easy, and the trunk is pretty loud (but I think most of the noise is the plate holder (only 2 top screws), Great on gas 330 miles per tank unless ya put your foot into it alot (like me) I HAD to pay too much for it!!!! (17%..geeezz) And the tires arent what I want....can you say upgrade?....:) I was hit In my old trusty 88 Nova, good dependable car with no problems. They totaled it of course. Go figure. I was hit before in 96'' and lost everything( Bankruptsy etc). I had to get another car reguardless. NO ONE WOULD TOUCH ME TO FINANCE A CAR. Needless to say This is the ONLY car they would finance for me because it still had 4 yrs on the bumper to bumper (5360 miles). The tough part is I have to pay 17% intrest....yuk. I''ll refinance later. I didnt want this car by any means. I have to haul around 2 teens and a 9 year old. Now that Ive had the car for bout a month it has grown on me alot. It handles great(I love to test it), It does good in fast traffic for anyone who knows how Orlando People drive. When I have a space to get into I gotta hit the gas and go. The CD system is not too bad, It will work till I upgrade it :) My daughter knows this will be her car in 2 years and I fell its dependable enough to let a teen have it for a first car. I love my lil'' car now. when it''s dirty (white) I gotta hit the car wash :) Overall Ill have to say its a great car, dependable, quick for its size when ya gotta be and great on gas. Im only gonna give 4 stars cuz @ 17% I dont think much for excellent deal...lol but it is worth the money.
