Strength:

- good on gas - hauls a surprising amount - reliable if you''re not an idiot

Weakness:

- no acceleration - loud on the highway - A/C saps some power

5 years ago, I had just graduated from university and was beginning my career - thus needing to go to work. Time to get a car. With obviously limited resources, I had to go for something relatively cheap, but still meet my (few) needs. Let''s see: good on gas, gets me from A to B, and had to have A/C to survive the horrendous summers. Everything else was just gravy. I tried a few cars, and the guys at Hyundai gave me a good lease with what I wanted - so I got it. And the last 5 years have been great with it. The gas mileage has been good, it''s actually been very reliable, and gets me from A to B. It''s not sporty or fast, but has no pretention to be. It''s hauls a surprising amount (rear-folding seat): a few sets of golf clubs, and with the folding seat, even a 32" TV (with the back closed). Not bad. My only problems so far with it was replacing the brakes, tires, and an exhaust valve - all after 4.5 years. And I don''t treat it very well. If you take a bit of care with it, you''ll have fewer problems. In the world of cars, this one is bang-on average - it does what it''s supposed to do, and does it just fine. Great for university students or those just graduating. Now that I''m further into my career and done with the Accent, if the Tiburon is even half as reliable as the Accent, it''ll definitely be a consideration...

I had 1988 Ford Escort LX and it got brouke the head gaskets, valve rings, exaust manifold, ect, ect, ect. And I needed a car A.S.A.P, because I worked a little more than 158 miles away from my home.(wonder why the car get brouke) So I said to my self, I need a cheap used car before I get fired. And believe me I had said to myself "I would never get in a Hyundai". But the only thing that I found was a two door ''97 Hyundai Accent at $4,300. I buy it in july 1999 with 21K miles. The first day I used to go to my work it work realy fine, and STILL working exacly as the first day I buy it, the only diference is that now have 104K miles. Good car and believe, for a car to pass all road test you had to go to Puerto Rico. It''s feels great in the road. For an economic car its the best. The Toyota tercel dont have individual suspencion in all four tires like the Accent has. It''s a lot easier to change the oil filter. It has carpet on the trunk-sides, Toyota Tercel don''t.ect,ect.

Strength:

Good purchase price. Good amount of standard equipment for the price. GREAT GAS MILEAGE!!!!! This car has plenty of acceleration, if you don''t drive like a moron, this car is fine. The 5-speed shifts very smoothly. Controls are simple to use and easy to find. Car has a lot of room for it''s size. It looks really nice and it''s inexpensive. Not everyone has an Accent (Cavaliers are a dime a dozen) so you get noticed. It will be a phat car to trick out!

Weakness:

The stock radio SUCKS! (It''s getting yanked and replaced with an aftermarket CD player.) Very light so it doesn''t hold the road as well as other cars ESPECIALLY in snow. Scratches VERY easily...i brushed a plastic fence (no metal) and it did some damage. The stock radio didn''t have a clock in it (nothing that 3 bucks and a trip to Wal-Mart couldn''t fix) No tilt wheel, can be annoying for taller drivers (i''m 6''1") 14" wheels would be nice.

I needed a replacement for my ailing 1989 Dodge Daytona, so I started looking online at replacements. After attending the auto show and sitting in various cars (Cavalier, ZX2, Focus, Echo, etc.) I sat in the Accent, and all I could think was "I want this car" I took a test drive at Moon Twp. Hyundai (Great people and Tom Trasport, you are da man!) and I really liked the way it drove. It had plenty of power (5-speed) and it handled well, it rode well (for a small car) and I bought it the next day. The only option my car has is A/C and it works GREAT without taking a lot of power from the engine. There is no way to get the amount of options and quality from another small car without spending thousands more. The Accent is a great automobile that I expect to last even longer than my Daytona did (13 years, 115,500 miles) Keep up the good work, Hyundai.

Strong four cylander, reliable, my wife says its sporty ha ha and cheep to run.

Weakness:

Does not fit my 2 kids and 125 pound dog comfortably and trunk rattles. Had to move up to a minivan

My wife and I were car hunting and I thought this was the ugliest car we looked at all day but I left the decision upto her. Seven years later and not one repair or maintenance cost except tires and oil and I will finally admit to her that this was a good buy.

Strength:

Weakness:

the motor and the people who fix them

Absolute crap to say the least. I decided to buy a new car so I wasn''t buying anyone elses problem....what a joke!the car has broken down twice in the last 3 weeks and it broke down again tonight, the last two times I couldn''t get a courtesy car and I have a disabled child. Lets see what happens this time. I was given a bill for AU$99.00 for the first lot of work because apparently some of the work they did wasn''t covered by warranty and that wasn''t even the problem (guess who''s not paying the bill) The first night I had the car the lights went out and it needed a new headlight control. DO NOT BUY THIS MODEL OF CAR!!!!

Weakness:

Me because I bought it.

I hate this car, it is a disgrace to technological progress. All this car does and does it well, is breaking down and running like crap. This machine from hell has caused me to suffer from anxiety, fear, paranoia, depression and low self-esteem. I hope Hyundai goes out of business. Brands to boycot: Hyundai, KIA, Daewoo. I am going to look into suing the company for emotional distress.

The only thing i dislike on the car is the stock 13" wheels, i am planning to upgrade to 16" in about a month. overall it is a great car and if you get it in El Monte at Famous Ed''s Hyundai you r sure to get a great price!
