Strength:

Great handling, great engine... simply put, FUN TO DRIVE!!!! I love this car's low slung chassis. Eats curves up like nobody's business. Very responsive. Can be easily modified and aftermarket car stero buffs will love how easy it is to put things into the car. Seats are very comfortable. Hatchback is useful and purposeful.

Weakness:

Kind of cheap interior. 2 seats only. High amounts of noise from the engine bay-I had to add a lot of sound deadening material to take the edge off. Cheap looking steel wheels. Hydroplanes on spit. Not really a chick magnet if that's what you are looking for.

I paid 5000 for it when it was a used in 1993 with 70k miles. The car is still running well at 150k with no engine problems to speak of. I do have to say that the brakes seem not to be as reliable. This seems to be something honda does not know how to fix. I would easily recommend this car to any of my non income gaining friends. This car IS for people on a budget, who want a super high fun to drive quotient, and who would like to modify or add on parts. Not for people looking for refinement, no noise, or having a family inside.

2000 Honda Accord EXL: Much more refined, but less fun to drive.

Strength:

Strong pull, looks good, cheap like boarst, great on gas, nice interior, very customizable, Lots of info online, reliable etc...
oh ya, very important: chick magnet. :)

Weakness:

rust in the wheel wells. be sure to take out the rubber "protective" piece in the back wheel wells. All it protects is dirt/salt from being allowed to drain. No v-tech unless you upgrade or live in Europe.

I bought this car a little over a year ago and have had no problems except for some minor rust showing up. If you need more power, (be sure to go with the si to start) the engine is easily upgradable and so is the exhaust. The interior is nice and is a great place to house a kickin stereo. This car is perfect for the college student or for someone looking to pull some gs for cheap. note: If you have a family of 7 you plan to haul around, this might not be the car for you. All in all, this is the car to have if you want to get there fast and in style.

Strength:

Excellent gas milleage (over 40 mpg), fun car to drive (just don't get sandwitched between two SUVs...) and some pretty good cargo space for such a small car.

Weakness:

Getting a little old (10 yrs) and not near enough power (62 hp & 90 torque just don't cut it).

Paid $3,000 in 1999 which is pretty good for what I got (had a fairly nice stereo installed after purchase).
I'd definitely recommend this car but it would probably be better to get the Si instead of the HF for the extra punch.

Strength:

Affordability, economy, and great performance for its size makes this car a great choice for those with small budgets.

Weakness:

SOCH engine is slighty outdated in todays V-TECHs' Japanese four banger pocket-rockets out there... But, the "Si"versions can still make the new guys a bit nervous at times.

A poor man's Ferrari, I've had this car for about 11 years now and it's still running like on its first four years. Talk about a BANG for your buck, this car wins hands down with reliability, affordability, economy, and yet it behaves like a pocket-rocket driven by a purrinnng large cat under its hood. Providing you keep up with its rountine maintenance, and a consistent 2.5kmi - 3kmi. change oil interval, this car will run nimbly forever.

Absolue blast to drive, ton of cargo room, consistenly get 35 mpg, only a 2 seater so i don't have to haul friends around, relatively inexpensive to pick up these days, insurance is relatively cheap (sub-compact class). Perfect college car. Unbelievably large aftermarket support, maintains a cult following, i prefer the looks of the car over the 92-95 civics. Very quick for only 108 hp, the very high gearing allows good acceleration, kinda sucks on the highway though (4k rpm's @ 80mph). I can't possibly say enough positive things about this car!

Weakness:

Rust, dammit. My wheel wells are suffering from the cancer that most all pre-92 Honda's suffer in the upper Midwest. Other than that, absolutely no complaints.

Paid $6k in May of 1998 for a very minty 90 Si with 70k on the clock. I haven't looked back since. I reccomend one to anyone who wants a car you look forward to driving every day and can laugh at the SUV's as you pass by them at the gas station.

Strength:

The CRX is an amasing little car, i`ve had mine for five years now, it has 170,000 miles on the clock and it is still going strong (recently rolling roaded on stock block - 132bhp) The car is such a sweet handler with endless grip, although with a bit of aggro you can get that back end out!!!Only modifications performed were alloy wheels and lowering kit! They look superb, sound superb(with induction kit!), and are quick (0-60mph 7.0 secs)(138mph top end)Will become a classic car so get one while you can these little beauties are becoming rare!!

Weakness:

er?...O.K. I must admit that they are a bit noisey inside and the ride is far from comfatable, but, hey! I`ts a sports car!!

I would recomend anyone to go out NOW and buy one, they do not cost a fortune even for a minter, and whoever purchases one will be very happy with what they get (BEWARE OF THRASHED `BOY RACER` ABUSE!!)

Quick!!! Especially after you modify it with after market parts. This car handles like a dream. Very, Very reliable. Lots of room in the rear hatch for major bumps.

Weakness:

The rear hatch squeeks a lot (could be because of my stereo).

Very reliable and inexpensive. I bought mine for $2500 with 120,000 miles on it. It had some problems(ie...rust, bad tranny and clutch) because the person before me abused it, but I am bringing it back to life. It is getting a new paint job in the spring and possibly more modifications (B16 Engine, not that there is anything wrong with the engine). I love this car and would not get rid of it for the world. Anyone can have the enjoyment of a sports car for a little price.

Strength:

Reliability, performance, and durability. I bought my CRX new in 1988 and am still driving it. It now has 374,000 miles on the odometer. It still has the original engine, transmission, starter, fuel pump, and even spark plug wires. Clutches seem to last about 225,000 miles and alternators about the same. The car still performs flawlessly, burns no oil, and can easily top 120mph with the recently installed (337k) DC Sports header. Handling and acceleration are both excellent. Fuel economy has reached 39mpg on the highway.

Weakness:

Not too many weaknesses, really. Occasionally, rattles develop in the hatch and rear suspension but these are easily dispatched through lubrication of the offending parts. Also, the sunroof switch seems to have a limited service life of about 100,000 miles but this is easily replaced.

An excellent car for the value-minded enthusiast. It's almost a cliche, but if you maintain it properly, it will truly last forever. Don't skimp on oil changes, transmission oil changes (only use 10w-30 in the transmission, by the way - never gear oil), and regular valve adjustments. Oh yes, you might want to replace the hoses after about 350,00 miles or so...

Too small for deer hunting (read below)

Bought it new in 1989. The ability to cruise at 75+ and get 40+ mpg was amazing. The car cornered like it was on rails and was bullet proof in reliability. I was cruising on the interstate just after sundown one evening in 1991 and didn't see a deer that jumped out of the median. We were going around 70 mph at the time. I was fine. My new wife was fine. The CRX was DOA. I miss my CRX.
