Strength:

this car takes turns like noting else. the horse power is amzing for a four cilider. and it is a dx mind you not all of the extera stuff. i have had this car for 10 years and the paint looks pretty good just take care of it. it also holds up in miner colisions i have had a few in this one

Weakness:

this car did good the first 5 years i owed it. when it got to about the 60 thoused mark i had a lot of problems with it. the trans axle needed to relaced with the timing belt. at about 70 thousand the i had to replace the exaused fan. the the engine light came on and i was haveing prolems with the rpms jumping i took it in up untill i traied it in for my ford f-150 laueite pickup. the techs could not find the problem with it and i was tired of putting money into it i only got to about 105 thousand miled before gettin reed of it. but over all it is a good car.

over all this is a good car exceped the problems i stared running into in the 60000 mile point over all it is good up to this point the power is good and so is the handle

Similar Products Used:

i have a mazda 626 1994 dx it is more reliable only been in the shop 2 times oneses for spark plug wires and second time ogxegion senser replaced and also the brakes need to be replaeced in front.
i also had a chev sprint that is a realy unreliable care cost a lot to fix the problems with it for the cost of the car brand new not worth the money or the head ace eather.

Strength:

Very quick car and looks good too. Handles tight, good fuel economy, and has a cool power sunroof.
Every aftermarket part you can imagine is available.
"Hey we'll take your car."...."Sorry guys, only two seats."

Weakness:

Typical Honda back fender rust and rust around the sunroof.
No cup holder or place to put one (I've spilled my coffee endless times).

Originally bought it for the fuel economy, now I find myself taking a real liking to it. Put on a glass pack muffler with a fat tip, sounds awesome. Holds two 12" subs in a big box with hatch room still left over. 158 thousand k, still puring nicely. Totally worth fixing up.

Strength:

Appearance
Reliable

Weakness:

The fourth gen Civic rust in specific places: sunroof, wheelhousing

The SiR (EDM or JDM) has never been sold in North America or Canada. It is equiped with the B16a1 DOHC VTEC engine and has a different appearel than the DX, HF, Si or DOHC model mainly due to different bumpers, hood and spoiler.

Bought this car december 1999 with 100K mls in excellent technical condition (dealer maintananced). Compared to the DOHC CRX I had previous this car is more refined and certainly a thrill to drive. I haven't had any (major) problems with the car so far. It is very reliable and economical even when pushed to the limit.

Major problem however which faces me now is not of technical nature but RUST! There are specific parts of the car which always will rust, however when spotted and treated in time it won't get serious.

One warning: If you test drive the car.... you're hooked!

Similar Products Used:

VW Corrado G60 (160ps): Very good bodywork but the engine is not peppy enough to drive it with the same feeling as the SiR, fuel consumption is high.

Peugeot 205 GTi (130ps): Engine has lot's of torque in low regions but misses the refinement of Honda, therefore needs lot of maintanence. Nervous in fast corners. High fuel consumption.

Strength:

-lightest year made (good for me bieng big)
-i'm big and i'm comfortable in it (i'm 6'5" 250 lbs)
-easy and cheap to increase horsepower all though i havent tooken full advantage of that yet i've added a k&n air filter and a flow master i'm currently looking for headers and i plan to add a 4 barrel holley carb to it.
-FAST
-quick off the start really easy to win a street drag race with just about anything (wins i'm proud of are a v6 mustang, a v8 jeep cherokee, v6 wrangler with flows and dual 4 barrel holley carbs and lots of other goodies, 01 celica, 97 eclipse, multiple s10's, newer civics, a 72 duster (automatic, my old car i raced my friend in it too much HP didnt stick to the road on starts very well) well really i beat everything i race only things i've ever lost too were a 92 maxima and a 93 maxima and a 96 grand prix. the maxima is a great car one of the maximas was driven by a girl sad to say however she did give women drivers a good name, btw i probably could have beaten the grand prix had i been paying attention to the road and not the ferrari going the opposite direction but anyway i've blabed on way too much but crx kicks ass.

Weakness:

hard to beat high end sports cars on a regulation quarter mile drag however timed races on a real road i always win except for my friends 67 austin healy sprite it sticks to the road real well.

very light can be bad too when driving next to semi's on the interstate (you can get sucked under be carefull guys)

overall this car is excellent great all around preformer and cheap to upgrade its the poster car for inexpensive sports cars. another thing i like is that it doesnt look very powerfull and like it could beat anything decent but SUPRISE it can

Strength:

1. Very, Very quick off the line. 2. Very good on gas 3. Very(i use very alot don't i?) good handling, able to go around 25mph curves at 50mph with no problem. 4. Alot of room inside despite the exterior size

Weakness:

Like someone else said, after 70-75mph it takes forever to gain speed. The sound system isn't the best(however i'm buying a dual 12 thumper for it! hehe!)and the automatic choke is good, but shuts off before engine is warmed up enough.(ends up stalling while warming up in the drive)

its a very good or should i say great car for its price. but all ways keep an eye on the timing belt. For me the insurance is higher than the price i paid for the car.
If you're looking for a great car with great handling but don't have the cash for a true sports car, look for one of these.

Strength:

- Has great off the line power.
- Takes corners at unexpected high speeds.
- Looks great and will look even better with the body kit from FX DESIGNS (www.fxdesigns.com).
- Guys Like it and want to race it. (This little 4 banger gives them a run for there money)
-TAKES A BEATING. I had six people in my CRX I lost control on a slippery street and jumped a curb sideways. All I needed was a new mag and a wheel allinment

Weakness:

-cops love to run my plates.
-water getting into the lights
-sometimes hard to find parts
-Only supposed to fit two people. (but you can squeeze more in the back, I do)

-The looks for a ten year old car is amazing.
-The car is very reliable.
-Very quick for a four cylinder.
-easy to modify.
-Very good gas milage
-I have put 23 000 km on the car within a year and all I had to replace was the muffler and alternator.

Strength:

1. Reliable (Had it for 4 years so far. Visited mechanic only 2 times for major repairs and it was really replacing old parts)
2. Handles well I've never driven a car like this. I've done 60 MPH in 35 MPH on ramp curves. Plus it's very responsive. Just a slight movement of the wheel results in instant change in direction.
3. Efficient with gas. I used to commute 50 miles a day 5 times a week and I had to get gas every 3 weeks. That's not bad at all.

Weakness:

1. Too much fun ( Got 2 tickets in this car )
2. Engine is a bit underpowered but then again, it's great on gas
3. Rear window visibility is poor. You'll have to learn to use the side mirrors more often if you get this

Great if you don't need to carry a lot of people all the time.

If you're tight on money and still you would like a fun car, get this. Otherwise, get a GEO Metro and watch everyone speed by you.

Strength:

Engine! Great gas mileage. Great shifter, light clutch. Great 4 wheel disc brakes... can stop on a dime. Can park in any space. U-turn on any street without problems. Parts are fairly cheap. Tons of cargo space. CRX drivers love their cars.

Weakness:

Thieves love the car too. Tough to parallel park in the tightest spots because of no power assist. No cupholders. Rust around rear wheel wells. If you get into an accident, forget about it... no ABS, no airbags, no size advantage, no side-impact door beams....

Overall, great little car. Engine died on me only once. Rotor repaired under recall. Other than that, engine feels like it would go on forever. Only other major problems 1. Sunroof came off its track and wouldn't close 2. Door lock mechanism somehow jammed in a locked position... dealer needed to drill holes into the inside of my door to get the thing apart! 3. Terrible gas struts to hold up heavy hatch. Dealer would not replace even under warranty! They only oiled the struts and said it was normal. Hatch kept falling down... almost cut my head off.

Very few sporty 2 seaters back then. MR-2 was more expensive and no cargo space.
