Strength:

Styling. Great quiet engine power. Exterior fit is superb. No repairs needed at all after 19 months of driving.

Weakness:

Rough ride on bumpy roads. Transmission shifting not smooth. Occasional hard starting.

I love the styling, traded a very good 2000 Honda Civic to get a little more room and the styling. Car is very fast and engine very quiet. Great on the highway, very smooth at high speeds. No repairs so far after 19 months. On rough roads it rides rough- doesn't smooth out the bumps. A few minor rattles on rough roads. Exterior fit of body parts is superb. Interior is okay but nothing special. Gray color on interior is very dull. Trunk is a little small. Adult in the middle of the back seat is not real comfortable. Transmission jerky when slowing and turning the corners. Beautiful styling! Intermittent starting problems - did not start on first or second try especially in colder weather or when engine shut off for a short time. Get about 20-21 mpg city and 29-31 mpg on highway. Seats are hard which adds to hard ride on rough roads. I also have 2000 Buick LeSabre which rides much better and smoother than Honda.

Strength:

Great fit and finish. Very quiet serene environment. Very good engine. The car looks amazing when compared to a Camary

Weakness:

NONE.....I give this car a perfect score!

I just bought this car after doing a lot of research on the internet. Time and time again the Accord came out ahead. The car exudes quality. The fit and finish are perfect. Ergonomically all the switches are just were they should be. The LED dash board lights up automatically when you enter a dark tunnel, which is truly remarkable. The seats are super comfortable. They are bigger and deeper cushioning your body in a very comfortable position. I have a friend with a Acura RL and you can clealy see that they used some of the same technology to design these seats to absord vibration and increase comfort. The engine has more horsepower and torque than the 2002 model, yet gets better mileage. Driving at 140 kms per hour the engine does not feel stressed and the cabin remaims very quiet. Honda claims this Accord is the quiets Honda ever made and I would agree. The stereo system is quite good and little touchs like a outside temp gauge make this car a pleasure to drive

Coming from a '96 Jimmy and a '98 Sierra we are ecstatic with these Hondas. My wife drove the Jimmy most of the time and I drove the Sierra. I drove an hour each way to and from work and the gas was killing us. We decided to trade both vehicles in on Accords and man was it a great decision. She traded for a black LX and I traded for a green LX, both 4-cylinders and automatics. The interior materials in the Honda is just amazing compared to the two previous vehicles. The handling is superb as is the acceleration. There is plenty of room in the back seats and the remote key is just sweet. It has sleek lines and a distinguished style that sets it apart from the "other" mid-size family sedans. We are thrilled and cannot believe we suffered so long in the other vehicles. For the type of driving we do, around the city and to work, they fit perfectly. The trunks are huge and the gas mileage has been very satisfying. I've spent years reading about this segment vehicle on edmunds.com and was set on the Mazda 6. But after reading all the reviews and comparison tests we decided on the Hondas without even test driving anything else. If there's anything as good or better in this segment out there, then it's either too expensive or hasn't been built yet.

Model Reviewed: Accord Coupe LX, 5-sp Man.

Strength:

Great engine, inside and out, fast and responsive handling, transmission, quiet, good brakes (so far), nice illumination inside, good gas mileage (I am getting 28-30 mpg in city, AC always on, Florida, did not go over 4000 RPM yet), good rear seat space for the coupe, fairly inexpensive insurance, no timing belt

Weakness:

OEM Tires, Drums on rear wheels (LX model), some rattles, stereo reception (FM) is sometimes fading away in the city (did not experience similar things with my previous vehicles), build quality is not as good as previous models, some accessories (fog lights, body side trim...) may be expensive, no xenon light option, too many of them out there (this may be a good thing?!@#$)

This is a one-month/1000 mile review that may help someone. I am very happy with my Accord Coupe. I really enjoy driving it and want to do it all the time. The 4-cyl. engine is very responsive and powerful, feels like V6. It is quiet at all RPMs (I did not go above 4000 RPM yet). The car handles beautifully. Turanza tires are not top notch, and they are a bit loud over 50 mph, but they handle OK. The AC is very powerful, better than on previous models. I am still in love with inside and outside styling. Inside is beautiful, good quality and simple, outside design is simple and nice. The trunk is super-spacious for the coupe. I would definitely recommend the car. Now, having another Accord (1999 Sedan V6), I have to report that the build quality went down a little bit on this new model -- both models were built in Ohio. My 04 Coupe has some rattles and I discovered they are coming from the ceiling. It does not bother me at all when the stereo is on, otherwise it is notable. Also, somehow the paint on my rear bumper (where it meets the tail lights) is peeling off -- looks like the dealer damaged it somehow when stripping off the protective cover -- Honda will fix it next week. My wife is driving 99 Accord and she has 60k miles on it, not a single problem, no rattles, paint is like new (both cars are garaged). All in all, it is an excellent car ,(should be) worry free, and very affordable.

Strength:

Fuel mileage, accessories, 240 Hp engine Standard packages, price, Quality, ride quality.

Weakness:

Power seats are rough when adjusting. Very little room to haggle on price, Fog light accessory is too expensive and too complex for a DIY project.

Traded in my 2003 EX V6 (Redondo Pearl w black Leather which I loved and drove 40000 miles in 18 months) for 2004 Desert mist w/ leather, I made the dealer throw in a spoiler, mud guards and sun roof visor. I love the Accord because of the power, quality, and value. After my first Honda my wife and I traded in our Mitsu Montero crap for a Pilot and love that too.

Model Reviewed: EX V6

Strength:

V6 power is quite simply stunning. 0-60 in about 6.6 seconds. The engine is so strong and smooth it's not like anything else I have ever driven. Seamless automatic transmission. Incredible seats. The styling is also well above the comeptition. Quiet comfortable ride at all speeds. Almost makes an Acura TL redundant.

Weakness:

Handling not up to the power of the engine. Some torque steer under heavy throttle from a dead stop. OEM tires lack grip. Some niggling build quality issues: rear door panel squeaks, badly trimmed headliner, trunk lid doesn't fit 100%.

This is an excellent car. Not a perfect car, but an excellent car.
