Strength:

Power, reliability, looks, gas, fun to drive, easy to work on.

Weakness:

Space, interior is a little dull, turning radius of a GMC van

This is a very good car, I have had a couple of problems, but I know I would have many more with any ford or chevy with 156,000 miles on it. I have had to replace the engine seals, and the clutch, and the bearing on the front axil keep rubbing, prohibiting any sharp turns. But that can be easily fexed. Other than that, it is the best thing you can buy, it is very easy to learn to work on. I can still get mine going 126 mph, with the stock engine, intake, exhaust, no powerchip or anything. I would say it is an awesome car for any sixteen year old out there, but if you are older . . . go get something with more balls. I run a 0-60 in 12 seconds, and a 1/4 mile in 14.9. Go get a sports car, they are more fun.

1996 Toyota V-6 Camry LS - wates me of the line, but both peak out at around 120 mph.
1992 Chevy Lumina - Way more torque than my car, but my cars top spees is about 16 mph faster.
Lamborghini Diable VT Roadster - Yeah . . . right.

Strength:

rich features. like four wheel ABS, alloys, keyless/security, etc.
fast acceleration (compared to other 4 cylinders).
all season H tires.
ride comfort.
space.
quality.
aggresive stance (like a European sedan)
requires only #87 fuel.

Weakness:

could use more low range torque.
could use rear disc brake (though its 135 feet 60-0 is not bad at all).

One of the best buys below 20k.
I've had it for 15 months now with 25k miles on it. Problem? None.
I had to admit that from time to time I would think about selling this Honda for somthing else. But when I got seriousl about it and did the home work, I decided to stay with it. If I had to trade this for another one, it would probably be a 2002 Maxima, for one reason: performance. Don't get me wrong. This model has 150hp to move its 3050lb body from 0 to 60mph in just 9.5 seconds. Not bad, for a 4 cylinder automatic. Yet I guess I wanted more of a sport sedan than a "family" sedan. That being said, it's my personal preferance. So I will give it five stars for its overall value of its own class.

Strength:

Handling, fuel economy, reliability, and good performance with 5 speed plus
near perfect driver seating and excellent placement of instruments and controls.

Weakness:

Very prone to excessive rusting.

Purchased this vehicle new fourteen years ago. My wife and I love this car and we intend to keep it for as long as it passes inspection. Three years ago a full size pick up ran a stop sign and smashed into the left front fender. To my amazement the pick up was heavily damaged but we were
able to drive away. The fender, hood and front clip was replaced but no
structural damage. At 230,000 miles the engine does not burn oil but we
had to replace an engine cover seal that was leaking. The clutch was replaced once but the 5 speed has been flawless all these years. Front struts were replaced with aftermarket ones. Big mistake! Aftermarket struts lasted only two years, originals ten years. Throttle body was diagnosed by Honda in need of replacement two years ago but decided not to
spend over $600.00. Roof forward of sunroof is badly rusted as are the rear fenders. The hinges on drivers door have rusted to the point that the door has to be lifted when opening or closing. Front door handles have failed but parachute cord now opens doors. Except for the drivers seat (I weigh 350) the interior is near perfect. Car is still safe to drive at 80 but even when new I felt that above 80 the car would lose some of it's poise as opposed to my 5 speed turbo Audi that I could drive all day at 100 plus.

Reliability and price.

Weakness:

The Honda Accord is, in my view, the most cost effective buy for the consumer who does not want to dish out big bucks for an expensive luxury brand. The EX version I have with leather, CD, and other amenities is stylish, yet affordable. It will not win any speed contests or earn you major style points, but it is a good, solid buy.

Poor transmission (worse in the market) and sad to say a list of others, not to mention the sunroof just stoped workin after 8 months of buying the crazy thing. My dealer says it Not a lemon cause I have broke into it already, then what is it then??

This is great car! Power is perfect good handling and seating. I was very shocked that about when I hit about 13k miles, my alternator went out, and TRANSMISSION started to slip. I know that in years pass Honda was know fo rbad transmission, worse that Chysler, but I thought they have improved.

I traded my 1996 Taurus for the Honda thiking it was a good move. Well I was rong, my Taurus had already 206k, I was very hard with that car, but to a suprise to many "JAP" car owner the transmission never went out, they only major work done was a new compressor for the AC! Iam very much thinking about sending this over rated Japan made car back home and getting a 2002 Taurus SES, which had high rating that Camry and Accord put together, plus a couple of thousand less!!

4). lack of room in back
5). wiper motor and connections to wiper blades cracked and flew off guring thunderstorm not very fun drive home.
6). poor quality paint

The Honda Accord is a reliable car with great comfort, ride, and reliability. However there are also the many flaus that come with the car but all are wear and tear that show the age of the car. This would be a better car if it were not for the constant(minor) problems.

Strength:

Quiet, smooth, reliable, excellent brakes

Weakness:

Low power, persistent factory odor after 2 years

The best overall car available for a good price. Don't get too excited though. It is not best in any category. There is absolutely no torque in first gear. This car was meant to be driven by gentler, older crowd. Don't let the 200 HP impress you, it's meaningless. Lack of power did make me uncomfortable a few times. Seats are very uncomfortable on long trips. Interior has the constant factory stench. Driver's right leg has no space, very crowded. Top of the windshield is right in your face, annoying. Accelerator pedal needs a slightly stronger spring, not as bad as on the sedan by far, however. Paint quality is good, but will chip easily. Styling takes everyone's attention, probably more than the car deserves. Good workmanship, tune-ups are easy for the do-it-yourselfer.

Strength:

Fuel mileage, resale and perception.

Weakness:

Customer service is not good. The competition is rapidly closing ground on Honda's. Soft suspesion. Very poor radio reception (probably due to rear window mounted atenna).

The car is enjoyable to drive for the most part. Passengers seemed to be more impressed than myself. I drove a 95 Chrysler LHS before my Honda. It takes a while to get use to 148 hp verse the 215 of the Chrysler. I also miss climate control heated rear view mirrors etc. The 10 miles per gallon better fuel mileage is helping though.

The car could use slightly stiffer shocks, but the ride of course would suffer.

I am very disappointed in Honda regarding customer service. I have had very bad problems with radio reception. Neither Miller Honda nor Corp. Honda are willing to attempt to remedy the problem. It is my impression they know people feel Honda's are good cars and when a problem does arise they simply turn a deaf ear. Buyer beware regarding the Honda Corp.

Strength:

Good value, dependable, GREAT WINTER CAR, Good gas mileage, fun to drive. Stereo and CD player were very good for being factory.

Weakness:

Gas gauge reads 3/4 when full, expensive parts, high insurance, breaks squeal, transition doesn't shift correctly every so often (more of a annoyance and a problem).

I like the car very much. It has a few quarks but my overall feelings are very good. I have found the car to be highly dependable. It was purchased with 92,000 miles. I looked at about 50 cars before buying this one. Most of the other cars I looked at had 50-70,000 miles on them. It had by far the best ride of any of them. The car was well taken care of. Many people get in and think it is only two or three years old! With two people in the car it can really move. The small engine (not vtech)really surprised me. If your not careful you will spin the wheels starting out from a stop light. The car is great during the summer months. It feels fast and sporty, very fun to drive! With decent all season tires the car performs very well on snow covered streets. I have NEVER been stuck in this car. This winter I was caught in a blizzard during a 150 mile road trip up I-79. The car performed flawlessly un 10 degree weather and near zero visibility. Far more than I can say about my 95 Toyota Camry. If you want a car that still runs like its only a couple years old at 120,000 miles and gets 32MPG then this is the car for you.

Similar Products Used:

95 Toyota Camry. The Camry is boring and slow, and it doesn't get as good gas mileage. One big problem with the Camry is that it boarders on dangerous to drive in the winter. If you push the breaks down, the car will start to spin. I have lost control of the Camry several times on the high way at 70MPH (Very scary and very dangerous)! I have NEW Tiger Paw tires all the way around on both cars so its not the tires.

Fantastic car. Really fast, reliable, fun, and quiet. I have had it for two years and 29000 mi. and these were fairly hard city driving with an admitted leadfoot. Not a problem so far even in the AZ summers. Opened the hood for purchase and not again! I don't remember what the engine looks like. Had a rattle or two, but the remedy came quick with a good service manager (Chad at Showcase) and the problem was due to the bad surface streets here. Have noticed a couple of chips on the nose and the primer coat should match paint (black) and it wouldn't show. Survived a rear ending by a full size truck with only $84 damage and that was to reallign bumper skin and trunklid (the impact was strong enough to bend his metal front bumper and send my sunglasses from my head to the rear speakers). To all those comments from Texas, either your dealer stinks or this is a buy american campaign. I guess they could be from a different plant though.?
I would buy another in a heartbeat. The experience was so good that I may buy an Acura 3.2TLS soon because I need a four door and the styling and performance is simillar.

Had been an American truck fan and had owned all the types in 4-wheel models until my previous truck, a 95.5 Toyota Tacoma LX V-6 4x4 extended cab that made me rethink the American car deal. That Toyota was so good it let me try the jap. cars. I shopped against all cars in class and found it to be the most for the money. Great idea.
