Honda Accord EX V6
Strength:
240 HP, the EX model is really a luxury car with all the features.
Weakness:
The huge display for the speed gague sometimes strikes me a silly. I mean I don't need the numbers and the dial to be the size of a dinner plate. This car is awsome. When my wife is in the car the dual climate zones and heated seats are worlds of comfort. When she is not in the car I beat the pants off everyone I encounter at a stop light. The car rides so smooth, yet crisp and powerful. |

Strength:
Interior design, handling
Weakness:
none Originally, I wanted to buy the 2003 Camry, since I am a Camry owner (1993); however, after doing the research and test-driving both models, 2003 Accord was a clear winner. Even comparing with the 2002 Accord, 2003 Accord is far more superior. I did not buy the new Accord for the looks, but I do not get tire of looking at it, actually I am staring to like it. The more I look at the 2003 Camry, it look boring. The best thing about the new Accord is the interior. I cannot say enough good things about the new Accord, you just have to test drive it. Hey mike jones, if you thought the new accord was ugly, why did you buy it and bring it back instead of getting the camry in the first place, Dummy???!!! Cars undergo depreciation the minute you drive them off the lot. That must of been a loss of $$$ for you. Even though I don't own a honda, I think the new accord looks sharp and stylish enough for me to buy one in the future. I also think the 2003 accord looks better than the 2002 camry. |

Strength:
Reliability, confort, power
Weakness:
Not as perfectly reliable as I expected. With Toyota I never had to repair anything before 70,000 miles. For european standards it is a big car. Our roads and streets were built in the horses era, so we don't have those american large ways and parking is a problem. I was expecting a very confortable car, a BMW 3 - like car for much less money, and I got it. I travelled South to North (Portugal to Netherlands), West to East (Portugal to Hungary) and back, having rolled 70,000 miles already, in almost 5 years. Never had a problem. Recently I had to change shokes, and of course I'm wearing the third set of tires. Everything else keeps working well. After chaning the shokes and cleaning the engine injectors, the car seems new. I would like to give myself a good reason to change (a new Accord has just been presented in Paris, the new 5-series BMW is going to arrive in a year) but I can't. May be I will give the car to my son, in 2004... It deserves it. Similar Products Used: BMW 318, Mercedes C-class, Toyota Camry (in Europe). I do not mention unreliable cars. |

Strength:
Styling, Fuel Economy, Power
Weakness:
Handling I've always wanted to own an Accord Coupe ever since the 6th Gen Accord's came out. I loved the way they distinguished the Coupe from the Sedan, the rear view is definitly impressive. When I finally bought one it lived up to all my expectations and more! Styling, power, and fuel economy top the pro's list. I can't stop admiring the exterior/interior on the car. I find myself racing around alot, the car's ride is so smooth it tends to mask the actual speed of the car very well (ie. 100 km/h feels like 60 km/h). My only gripes are the handling, the tires are definitly too small for the power the V6 dishes out. I feel like I'm going to roll on sharper turns from 70-80km/h. Some 17 inch wheels would be nice with a fatter width, but I guess thats what their doing for the 2003 V6 6-speed manual coupe. The suspension is probably also to blame for body-roll, but its not a performance sports car, its more of a family luxury car, so the suspension works well for its niche. Despite these things the Accord V6 coupe is great fun to drive an it was definitly worth the money I paid for it. Similar Products Used: 2002 Toyota Camry |

Accord EX Gold
Strength:
Reliablity, although I can't contest for this myself yet. Decent options. Smooth 5-speed. Spacious.
Weakness:
Rear seats don't fold down all the way. Leather is not high-grade. More road noise than Maximas. Moon-roof doesn't open that far, doesn't flip up like Eclopses. Just got my Accord EX a couple weeks (Oct. 2002) ago and love it. It's got pretty much all the options except for the V6. Leather, power moonroof, spoiler, cd, power seat height, etc. Almost as fun as my wifes 1990 CRX. However, this car isn't an ugly 2-seater. Bought it with 74,500 miles on it for below book, so I got a pretty good deal considering their high re-sale. This car is from West Virginia so there is some minor corrosion on some bolts and what-not, just minor amounts of rust. The leather is not in great shape, no rips or tears, but it's not soft. I put Armoral leather stuff on it, but it didn't help. I bought some leather conditioner from Wal-mart the other day, hopefully that will help. The car gets to 60mph under 9 seconds, which is respectable for a 4-door 4-cylinder stock. My previous car, a '70 Nova with a 307 2 barrel, took about 8 second 0-60 and got 22+ mpg with 100,000 miles on it. When you consider this, cars haven't come incredibly far in 30 years if you ask me. So their emissions are less, big deal. True, they are safer now, but I don't plan on getting in a wreck anyway. Ha ha. I'm being stupid. They've come a long ways if you wanna pay 2 years salary for a car. Back in those days, you would pay 4 or 5 months salary for a brand new car. Strength:
Looks, Power, Honda nameplate (managed to sell it even though it was a lemon)
Weakness:
POOR STEERING FEEL, Build, Reliability, Super thin sheetmetal I had a 1994 Accord 2.2VTEC EXR before. I was totally dis-satisfied. I bought the vehicle because I heard rave reviews about the handling and the reliability of accords. Also, I have to admit that it looked good (even better than any other version after the 1997 model year, including the upcoming 2003 model). However, when compared to other cars I have owned/driven, my Accord had the worst steering feel of all. It just felt sloppy. The steering was feather weight while feel was non-existent. If you are in repeated S-curves, you will know what I mean. The steering wheel was not eager to return to the centre position. I thought that it was an malfunction, but the several dealers reassured that it was all right. In addition, it was not stable over 100km/h. The car was not designed to drive fast. It understeered significantly with moderate body lean!!! Build was no better. I sold it at 90,000km. I had already replaced the battery, tires, radiator, the master cylinder of the power brakes, air conditioner, shocks, alarm (The alarm that came with the car was horrible, it cut off fuel whenever it wanted. I was often left in the middle of the highway dangerously because of unexpected fuel cut-off)......... (note that I had never omitted any of the required periodic checkups) In conclusion, if you want reliability, buy a Toyota. If you want sportiness, buy an European car like A4, 3 series, or Passat (perhaps the new Mazda 6 or the TL type S are sporty too!) Similar Products Used: 626(V6), A4, Camry, 325i |

EX Accord
Strength:
The engine, nice body style.
Weakness:
Reliability on electronics and AC terrible. Within the first year, I was having to constantly take my car in to be fixed. My driver's side window has broken several times. It has never rolled up properly, even though the dealership has "fixed" it. In the winter, it stops 1/2 way up before it closes completely. Sometimes it doesn't close at all. It's fallen off the track numerous times. I am always told that the motor for the power windows are notorious for going out within a few years. My AC leaks so badly in the summer on the INSIDE of the car (by the front passenger floor) that my car smells like a dirty dish rag, and now it leaks on the driver's side as well. I can only run my AC for awhile, and then I have to air it out when I'm parked. I don't listen to the radio very loudly, but the speakers have blown twice and have a scratchy noise when the radio is on. For the price I paid for the car, there shouldn't be any problems. It definitely doesn't live up to its reputation. I think that this car just sells because people know it's a Honda. Unless it's an Acura, I will never consider another Honda product. I have to say that I am highly disappointed with my Accord. From the time I learned to drive, I always wanted one. And then I bought mine brand new in 97. Within the first year, I was constantly having to replace a fuse here, repair the car window, fix the AC. For the price I paid, this car wasn't worth it, AT ALL. Also, important to go with a good dealership. Mine screwed me as it quoted me one price on the top line leather. But when I tried to finalize the price they tried to quote me a higher price. When I explained that they told me the first price, they said okay, and then installed a lower grade leather. I bought my car over the phone...big mistake...and it was too late. I had signed the papers and paid the down payment. Similar Products Used: Acura Legend, Toyota 4Runner, Acura RL, Acura Integra, BMW 740IL |

Accord Coupe V6 LX
Strength:
V6 200 HP VTEC engine. Double Wishbone suspension. Looks better than Toyota Camry/Solora. That's it...
Weakness:
Transmission is WEAK. Body is weak. Easily dents/scratches. Small things start to brake. All I have to say is that cars made in America aren't built to last. Please note that I bought my car BRAND NEW. Also note that I am NOT a rough driver. Within 1 year, my passenger side shocks (both front and rear) started leaking oil at 16k miles, the transmission makes noise when switching gears from R-N-D4, and the seal on my headlight housing broke causing fog within the unit. Yeah, good thing I got the extended warranty. If you are looking for a reliable Japanese car, please consider buying a car that was built in Japan. From this experience, I have decided NEVER to buy a car that was built in the States. Sorry all you American car lovers, American cars just don't cut it for me.
