Still Deciding.

Weakness:

Everthing

We have owned a 2003 Accord for about six months. During our ownership the windows were continually rolling down by themselves, while the car was parked and ignition turned off with vehicle's alarm activated. Dealer resolved by repairing electrical shortage. Interior is not as refined as the new 2003 Camry's, the ride is not as soft as the V6 XLE Camry's are. But that was the least of our troubles. On a vacation to CANADA the vehicle's head gasket went with the vehicle having only 3,012 miles on it. Because we were in CANADA my warranty did not apply. So here we were stuck in another country without a vehicle to use. We ended up flying back to NYC and having the vehicle brought back to Hillside Honda in Queens, NY. We decided to return the vehicle back to dealership, but this was not easy. After we threatened to sue them for selling us a lemon, they gave us back our money subtracting the registration fees and taxes. What a RIP OFF. Never againg will we even have second thoughts about purchasing a HONDA. The 1 800 cutomer service was terrible and the Dealership claimed we must have done something wrong that caused the headgasket to go. I should have listened to my mechanic when he recommened going with the CAMRY, but being me I wanted more horsepower and the better savings on the gas. Horsepower really doesn't matter, can hardly tell the difference between the two vehicles.

Strength:

- Many features at great value - Reliable and quick engine - Timeless styling (classic Accord) - Comfortable seating - Good fuel economy - Plenty of modifications available to customize your Accord

Weakness:

- none -

The 2002 Honda Accord Special Edition has so far completely satisfied all my driving needs. First off, the style of the coupe is sleek and stealth -- there are no pointless side mouldings or any pretentiously randomized curvatures that would ultimately make the car look dated and gaudy a few years down the road. The tastefully straightforward build of the Accord Coupe will help the car's style retain a modern, ageless look. The Accord is an elegant vehicle with a sporty edge to it. The 150 hp four-cylinder V-tec engine is smooth and economical, and fast enough for both highway and city driving -- I have never had one problem with lane changing, racing yellow lights, or mending into traffic on the on and off ramps. The front seats are 'first-class airline' comfortable, and the back seats render a tremendous amount of space for adult passengers. The Special Edition comes with many great features -- passenger and driver side airbags, heated seats, cruise control, ABS brakes, alloy rims, cd player with six speakers, drink holders, multiple storage areas within the car, smart multi-speed windshield wipers, leather wrapped steering wheel, power-everything, and of course my favourite -- the power double-tilt capable moonroof -- and there many other wonderful features that I've forgotten to mention I'm sure. In Conclusion, the 2002 Honda Accord SE is one of the top cars in its class, and for the price, I have absolutely no doubt that I have made the perfect choice.

Strength:

Unbelievable handling and acceleration using the 4 cyl. I went to the dealer intending to buy the V6 but found the around town acceleration better with the four. There is a substantial lag in throttle response with the V6 when passing. Overall handling is better with the four because of the six's additional weight. The car handles as if it weighs 2500 lbs it is light and lively at speeds over 40 mph and invites hwy cruising at 80+.

Weakness:

No automatic door locks. Strange for company so safety minded. Should have fog lights standard on EX model.

A great value. Search for one made in Japan, they are out there.

Comes with all the bells and whistles. Love the steering wheel stereo control and 6 in dash CD.

Weakness:

LOUD road noise(unless you blare the radio). Crappy paint job, chips SO easily. Dash clock has no light. Can't acces trunk through back seats without using the key.

First "grown up" car I have ever owned. The interior is great. The EX comes with leather and all of the bells and whistles. I have put a lot of miles on this car and have had no problems. Lots of pep and looks great with a spoiler to look a bit peppier. Road noise is a lot louder than the Toyota Solara that I looked at, but I couldn't afford the Toyota. Lots of trunk space but you can't put the back seats down without using the key.

reliability!!!!!!! gas milage

Weakness:

looks, but looked good when new (you try driving a car for 20 years and then see how it looks)

this is an awsome car. I bought it in 1983 brand new. it is a 5 speed trans. right now on my car I have 340,000 miles and still running very well, starts up first time every time. I can still do 80 on the beltway just fine. although there is not much power in the 4 cyl, I would buy this car, that has lasted 20 years, over buying a fun car and replacing it again and again. Overall I LOVE THIS CAR, it doesnt look great anymore, but still drives like a champ. Hondas are the ultimate car ever built.

Good car but the brakes suck;

Weakness:

Brakes go out every 15,000 miles. I'll never buy another Honda...they suck

I've put 97,000 miles on this car and I'm selling it. Why? Because since I bought it I've replaced the front and rear brakes atleast 4 times each! I don't know what it is but the brakes go out every year or more. I've had no other problems other than the breaks going out all the time. Believe it or not, I took it in the other day and Firestone said that the front rotors need replacing and so do the brakes...that's 5 times now!

Strength:

Very smooth ride. Good power. Sleekness of body.

Weakness:

Paint job appears to be a problem.

Anyone had a problem with discoloration on the hood of any silver colored Honda? I have a 2003 Accord EX Coupe and noticed two light "rust colored" spots under the clearcoat. Took it back to the dealer who said that several cars had come from the Maryland plant this way and they said they would replace the hood. Well, at first glance, the replacement hood looked fine, but in the sunlight, there is a noticeable "circle," again under the clearcoat. I'm very frustrated with going back to the dealer for this and just wondered if anyone else has had this problem.

Strength:

V6 engine is a blast. I feel like I'm back in high school driving my Ford Torino 302. Except the Accord accelerates better and there is no comparison in handling. Great overall quality, In-dash 6-CD changer is a treat.

Weakness:

Seats are VERY firm and may cause comfort problems on long hauls. Styling is a little mundane but is an improvement over earlier models.

I've really enjoyed owning this car. Of course, it is my first NEW car since '87. I had a good experience with both dealers I worked with, low pressure, knowledgable and helpful. I researched, drove and looked at a lot of makes and models and the Accord came out on top. I liked the appearance of some other cars better, but the quality and 240 HP tipped the scales.
