The interior heater (but thats due to the age of the vehicle).

I must admit it is a wonderful car I love it. I just think it is a nice vehicle. I live in Alaska and just the other week it got down to -39 degrees i don't have and engine heater installed and it started with no hesitation. It get fair gas milage. So far I haven't had to replace any thing. Although, I am going to replace the Heater in the vehicle it is giving me a small problem. This vehicle is currently sitting at and it moves great. I owned a 1996 Ford Explorer and its was a piece of crap. This Honda is roomie and just and excellent traveling vehicle. It has alot power(it really pulls through the snow. This honda has no body damage and no interior damage. All original parts. I just thank God for sending me to it. For those who have problems with them Honda stands behind their vehicles even after the warranty. So just call them up. Before i purchased the Honda I thought that I should only drive American Vehicle but now, Who cares Honda all the way.

Strength:

Nice engine for a 4 cylinder Comfortable interior Reliable It's a Honda High Resale Nice steering accuracy

Weakness:

Bad dealerships (across the board) Expensive parts and labor Hot target for thieves Strange ride/handling combo So-so styling

I have had my Accord since August '03 and it's doing fine. I bought it with 108,500 miles on it. It has the original clutch and it's still good. There are a few maintenance items I need to take care of, but that's only because the previous owner neglected them. Other than that, the car is solid. I anticipate it will go on to hit 300,000 miles. My dad's '86 Accord hit 250,000, so I don't see any problem with a newer car doing that. The engine is not quite as smooth as I thought it would be. It's noisy in the city but it's okay on the freeway, tolerable in either situation. It's very peaky but I doubt most drivers will ever notice. It hits strong around 2200RPM and dies down a bit, coming back strong at around 4200RPM. This is the nature of VTEC, it's not a bad thing. The 5-speed is working pretty well but grinding in 2nd and 5th, pretty typical as I hear from several sources. The handling and ride is a weird combination. The handling is not that great, but the ride is not really good either. There is a fair bit of body roll (to be expected of a 3000lb family car). However the real surprise is that the ride is actually rougher than I expected from a car with so much body roll. The steering is heavy, your taste will determine whether that's good or bad. However it is very direct and predictable. When I'm driving at freeway speeds I feel much more confident and a good bit safer than when I'm driving my dad's '97 Camry. The interior space is not bad, especially considering that the new model is even slightly smaller than my 1999. Trunk space is adequate, on par with the average. One grudge I have is that I never found an acceptable compromise in the lumbar support. I've fiddled with it for 3 months and still get out of the car with a sore back. Also, the dash comes in at the center, taking up a little bit of leg room. The interior materials are okay, but not exceptional. The upper dash is hard plastic, as is most of the rest of my (cloth) interior. Might be a bit better on a leather trimmed model. The new Accord really outshines mine on this end, at least for me. Overall, I would buy another Accord but would probably spend a bit more time scoping out the right one.

I've driven a 2002 Honda Accord and last week I test drove a 2004 Accord. I was very impressed with the latest version of the Accord LX. The car has an excellent turning radius, has quick pick up for 160 hp engine. I gun the engine quite a few times to push the car to its limits. The engine is very smooth and the interior is nice. The ride is comfortable and the noise is very quiet. I highly recommend this car. I would buy the new Honda Accord. I do would not recommend the 2002 and older versions. I would not buy from Honda El Cerrito in California. Poor service and I do not trust them. The salesman I talked to was full of crap!

Yeah, I am so happy with my first brand new vehicle which is a Honda Accord EX-L 4 door. I traded in my volkswagon passat1.8 turbo which was nightmare on Elm street. I went with the honda because of all the reviews I had read many (majority) of the people had great things to say, unlike the reviews from Volkswagon. I plan on keeping this car for at least several years. I am so happy with the gas mileage it is unbelievable how smooth of a ride and how well it is designed.

Strength:

Very few major problems, just minor Gas mileage Very zippy around corners Just keeps going and going and going...

Weakness:

Old body style is a definite turn off She's just old, I can't hold regular wear and tear against her, even though there's a lot of that.

My little Honda Accord was my first car. I got her two years ago when she had 180,000 miles on her. Now she's up to 196,000 and is still at least pretending to run. I've always had problems with her, because she is an older car, and she has let me down several times. She's extremely cold blooded--I can't count the times I've backed out of the driveway only to have her die in the middle of the street. It's hit the point where I no longer panic about someone coming along and slamming into me. I almost always have to fight with her to convince her to start, even if she's only been off a few minutes. There's all the typical old car problems including extreme vibration of the steering wheel (~not~ caused by unbalanced tires). She has absolutely no get-up-and-go. Also, and this problem would crack me up if it wasn't so annoying, the door ajar light and beeper used to come on all the time when I pressed on the brake and sometimes would not turn off for 20-30 miles. I got in the door and disconnected it but it must be possessed because it still beeps once in a while. But enough of the bad. She's a good little car, gets me to where I need to be, ensures I don't speed (ever). She's small, perfect size for someone as short as me, and gets great gas mileage (avg 27-30, city/country) She also provided me with a great excuse when I missed curfew "Oh, I couldn't get my car to start, you know how it is!" She drives very well on slick surfaces even if she doesn't like to start in them. If it weren't for the fact that I need something slightly more reliable (starting wise) in the winter I'd keep her until I run her into the ground. As it is, my brother gets that honor.

Reliable Reasonable repair cost Comfortable ride Head- leg room My 6'2" passenger Happy

Weakness:

Plastics become brittle over time. Wiring harness deterioration could be hazardous if headlights blink out while nightdriving. Missed having a sun/moon roof.

Bought 4 cyc. DX for $6,000 @ 10 years old w/32K miles and ran for 7 years until someone ran into me and totaled it. This car was great - never worried about being stranded and never was. Didn't rattle right up til the accident at 154K miles and I didn't baby this car 30 mile city and 30 mile highway driving everyday. Great gas mileage. Had to repair power steering rack at appx. 100Kmiles due to leak($400.00) 2 brake pad jobs in 120K miles. Main thing I noticed was clips (Hood prop clip and glove box clip breaking due to brittleness) but I live in desert, so it's pretty harsh on plastics. My AC went at 151K-Leak- motor worked but wouldn't hold freon. Oh yeah, did have to have the harness repaired because that became brittle- and head lights were blinking out- ran about $75.00. Replaced 2 headlights over 7 years, a couple fuses and brake lamps. I've read some horrible reveiws about extremely expensive repairs on many different Makes and I have to say, I feel good about my experience with my Honda since I feel this was pretty reasonable for all repairs over a 7 year/120K mile experience.

not rear wheel drive......

My 03 Carolla was stolen so I bought the Accord, drove the Camery and the Avalon, then the Accord, ended up with the Accord, really nice, sporty ,refined, not as quiet as the Camery or the Avalon, but alot more performance and bang for the buck. That motor makes a wonderful noise, sounds like a V12 and is very very smooth. The interior is very well appointed, better than the Camery. I still fined myself looking at Avalons because of the ride and quiet but you have to make a choice, little more sport. In closing, love this car, no problemes yet, wished it was rear wheel drive, now that would make it lot more fun.

The 4 cylinder Honda Accord is a good vehicle when it comes to handling, as well as style and reliability. However sometimes I find that it lacks power and isn't the most comfortable car to go on long trips because of its size.

What a well put together car. When I bought it I traded in a mustang gt (which was a piece of crap) so I thought that other than the reliability it would be a car I wouldn't really like that much. Man was I wrong. The car runs smooth and strong with over 70,000 miles on it. There are no squeaks or rattles and it runs like it is still new. I have driven many cars, but none give you the quality the Accord does for the price

What a fantastic car this is!!! The 5-speed automatic transmission is a delight due to its smooth shifts, and the power from the 4-cylinder is great! I have to admit that I am a 100% Honda fanatic, but there are reasons for this. I recently leased this '03 Accord after buying a 1998 VW Passat with only 28,000 miles on it. What a nightmare! Electrical problems and engine problems were common occurrences. After owning three Accords before this VW beast I tought I'd give VW a try. Well I'm back with Honda and NO regrets! The compliments I get on my new Accord are always positive. I admit the styling took a while to get used to but it grows on you. The luxury that you get for your dollar is phenomenal! I have 12,000 miles already and NO problems whatsoever. ITS A HONDA! CASE CLOSED!!
