LX Coupe
Strength:
-Good excelleration (for a 4 cylinder)only with the 5 speed though! -amazing reliability -comfortable on long drives -looks good lowered! - Good on gas
Weakness:
- Looks boring stock! - stock stereo isn't even acceptable - no cup holders in LX! Bought this 1995 Honda Accord LX Coupe 3 years ago with 140,000KM, now has 287,000KM and running strong as ever. At 19 years old I put this thing through hell and it takes anything I give it. Doesnt burn any oil to date and with only routine mantainance it smiles right back at you. Lots of aftermarket parts available so its easy to make it funner to drive as it does look boring intially. Great car overall though!!!! Nice ride, smooth transmition, powerful engine, & best of all it looks GREAT!!!!!!
Weakness:
a little ratteling in the dash, squeaky front brakes & head rest not comfortable. My recommendation Steering wheel button should have lights. I currently own a 2003 Accord LX. After trading my 94 EX Accord that I loved & never had any problems with it. After 7mths of owning new 2003 Accord I noticed squeaking on the front breaks other then that its a great car. I really made a wise choice in purchasing another Accord. |

Strength:
Great looking with dark tinted windows, sunroof and spoiler. Dependability, 28mpg, Leather interior holds up well, car is very easy on tires and brakes, Good power, and fun to drive.
Weakness:
hmmm...none really. I happened upon this site and thought I would add my 2cents worth. I am currently a two-Accord household. My son's first car was a used 94 LX 4cyl. Weve had it 6 years, it now has 176000 miles and still tickin. And he's driven it hard (as most 16 year olds do) Very few repairs needed, and I was so pleased with it that I knew I wanted my next car to be a Honda. (after being very displeased with everything EXCEPT the comfort of my 95 Bonneville) I bought my 98 Dark Green EX V6 Accord in 2001 with 35000 miles on it. 3 years later it now has 90000 miles and continues to be a wonderful car. Recently had the 90K service, tuneup, timing belt, etc. The only mechanical complaint I have had is that it has a 'ticking' noise. Even a valve adjustment did not correct it. Yet aside from the slight annoyance of the sound, the performance of the car is still great, so I'll leave it alone for the next 200k miles. :) ( I was told the original owners probably did not adhere to the oil change schedule, and that it was a common problem for V6 Vtec engines put in Acura and Hondas that year.) Darn the original owner anyway!! Dont ya love reading some of these reviews. It always amazes me what people find to complain about...and how simple some of the solutions are...if they will open their eyes and/or read the owners manual! (i.e. the complaint that the back seats dont fold down on their 98--same year as mine---and mine sure do! Gotta unlock them, but they do fold down.) WEll, y'all enjoy your Hondas. Honda Accord EXV6~
Strength:
Engine, RELIABILITY, power, features, SUSPENSION, ride, rigidness, comfort, and reliability all the way!
Weakness:
Lumbar adjustment, and that's about it! WOW! My Accord just turned 6 years old and I have dont absolutely nothing to this car. I have taken it in for all normal service and that's it! I love this car more than anything I've previously owned. The engine seems to be just as smooth as when it was new with 30 miles on it. It still looks good too..it has weathered the winds and has never once let me down. It currently has 112,000 miles on it with ANSOLUTELY no major repair work. I turn the radio off with all the windows up and I have yet to hear a rattle;) I can drive down the interstand door handle to door handle with a BMW and I feel just as rich. The quality and craftsmanship dislplayed in this Accord is impressive. I have written several letters to American Honda Motor Co. in regards to my satisfaction. The actually sent me free oil change cupons in the mail;) I also had the opportunity to tour the Marysville, OH production plant where all Accords are built. I was impressed with their methods and engineering. I salute everyone who played a role in producing such a machine. Thank you Honda for such a rewarding, respected name plate vehicle! I couldn't be happier and I will be a Honda owner for life. Thanks Honda. Similar Products Used: My wife has a 2003 Honda Pilot, which has been outstanding as well. Any car is good when new, but it's the "down the road charm" that no other manufacture can touch..including luxury name plates. There are statistics proving this. |

Accord Coupe EX V6
Strength:
Build quality, switch gears a pleasure to use, reliability, solid chassis, "everything-just-flat-out-works-well". For a V6, the gas usage is very frugal- actual mpg: ~25 city, ~35 highway. Unless you're a lead-foot, this engine gets you going without guzzling petrol. No need to buy that Lexus unless you REALLY need the snoot factor. All doors and trunk and hood close with such a nice solid >thunk<.
Weakness:
Price keeps heading north. Back seat is cramped- but it's a coupe. 17" wheels would be nice for $27,000. Still alot of quality car for the money, but each year everything costs more. Great build quality. Attention to detail rivals Lexus, Infiniti, anyone. The 2003 is vastly improved over the 2000. The chassis is noticably more rigid, the doors have a more solid feel w/o being heavy. The ride seems more solid especially over pot-holes and asphalt pathces- the car feels more substantial and solid, less flexy. The ergonomics are spot-on. All the switches, buttons, levers, etc feel like high quality switch gear. The tilt/telescoping steering wheel is such a nice touch. The leather trim is as nice as any I've seen at any dealer. Honda has this magic touch when it comes to aesthetics- the dash layout is sooo cooool! Knobs and buttons are laid out where you want them to be. The power driver seat is smooth and the switches don't feel cheap. I wish the seat controls were easier to access- the door panels are a little thick. But the seat has all the controls you need. The included cargo net helps to keep things in place in the larger than expected trunk. The felt lining cathces stuff like grass and fibers but the durability is there. Visibilty is great except the A pillars are a little on the thick side. This can be a little tricky on left turns. Otherwise, viewing the outside world is easy and expansive. The reliability has been Honda-like: no warranty repairs needed. The new 240hp V6 is a thing of beauty. I haven't tasted the Nissan V6 but this Honda V6 has plenty of highway passing and on-ramp pickup power on reserve. Normal oil changes are the only required maintenance for smooth, trouble free enjoyment. The coupe shouldn't be the only model that has the remote entry controls on the key fob. This feature should be expanded to EVERY Honda model. It's MUCH nicer to carry it as opposed to Volkswagon's and Audi's big heavy switch blade key fob. HONDA ACCORD LX
Strength:
Quality and attention to the details inside and out.
Weakness:
Outside of the road noise as mentioned above, not many. These other people with complaints just got bad cars which is rarity This is the third Accord I have owned since 1983. Also had the 88. I have never had any serious problems with any of them, but was a little dissappointed w/ the road noise in the 2000. Not enough to sell it though. I noticed the comments from others re: auto locking doors. Honda, please if you are reading these do NOT change to auto locks ( I hate them and they can be dangerous if you are in an accident no one can get into the car because the doors are locked). In the city I lock them myself and unlock them on the highway. I don't know anyone that can run 80mph next to the car to get in it. I did like the rack and pinion and power steering you used to have in the previous models I had and would like to see you return to that. The steering is not as tight and responsive as it used to be in my other cars. My parents were diehard buy American only before I started buying them and they are also on their third Honda and will probably always own them unless Honda takes a severe dump in quality. Weakness:
Parking Brake Light No split folding rear seat (one piece folding) Cost of ownership (costly to buy, costly to insure, but on the bright side, not many repairs needed) This car gets high ratings from virtually every site I have seen. And for very good reasons. I bought this car with 93,000km on it, and now sitting at 136,000km (one and a half years later) and it drives the same as when I purchased it. This car does almost everything right. I love the handling, acceleration, interior space and more than anything, the reliability. There's only been two problems that I encountered (aside from vandilism). First, the clutch needed attention within my first month of ownership (covered under warranty), likely from the previous owner's driving habits. Secondly, the parking brake warning light comes on when I decelerate. (I read on another site, that this may be related to the master cylinder. I need to discuss this with Honda to verify.) One test drive, and you'll see why it's worth driving. Over a year of ownership, and the extra cost of purchasing one is well worth it considering all I pay for is oil changes and filling 'er up! None I LOVE this wagon!! I found it on the internet with a picture of it. It was love at first sight. Not to mention the convenience of a wagon plus Honda reliability and drivability. What more could you ask for for 5 grand? I just reached 121,000 miles and it runs and drives like new. This is my fourth Accord and will not be my last.
