Strength:

Powerful for the size engine it has in it. Very sporty feeling, tight to the road. Fun to drive on curvy roads, you can realy feel the road.

Weakness:

A bumpy ride but that is the way a sports car is supposed to be.

This car is pretty powerful. I love driving my GT it is a fun little sport car. I bought it for $1,500 and it is worth $4,000, it only had 75,000 mi on it when I bought it. I havn't had a problem with this car yet.

Strength:

The tires stay aired up, thats it.

Weakness:

EXTREMELY SLOW, very poor handling and response to roads, slow acceleration, slow top end, bearly goes 75mph.

This car has to be the single worst investment i have ever made in my life. The car breaks once a week, ive rebuilt the transmission 5 times, the engine once, it has caught on fire twice.

Strength:

i love how the car looks, handles great. decent acceleratinon. i like how mazda has the engine designed. all together not too bad of a car unless you don't know how to fix a car then it would suck owning a probe

Weakness:

don't like the door pannals they break too easy

I've had the my probe for about 6 months now in that time on 100 thousand miles i've replaced all 4 swaybar links, O2 sensor, the muffler, and rebuilt the engine. things i hear that commonly break is the distributer, sway bar links, door pannels breaking (only on 93 and 94 models), and the intake boot is cracked on most 94's and 94's

Decent gas milage, other than that NONE!

Weakness:

EVERYTHING

This is the absolute worst car I have ever owned. It has been a money pit since the day I bought it. I have to pray for my life everytime I drive it because it's such a piece of crap. So far in the past 3 years, I've had the engine replaced, the transmission rebuilt 3 times, the muffler system replaced twice, and the "flame resistant" plastic which sits between the engine and the interior of the car caught on fire once. Which resulted in having to buy a new hood. Outside of that the door locks broke almost right after I bought the car, and it still needs a new alternator. I wish I could sue Ford for the 5 times this moving piece of garbage has left me stranded on the road.

Strength:

It is sporty; it hugs the road well, and it is good on gas. Plus, it is very fun to drive

Weakness:

The engine light comes on and has stayed on for a while, and no one can figure out what is wrong. The ash tray is in a poor position. Furthermore the door and hatchback locks seem to freeze and become difficult to open.

This absolutely the best vehicle I have ever owned. I have over 230,000 miles on my car and the engine runs as well as it did when it was new. I have only replaced a mass air sensor on this vehicle.

Model Reviewed: Ford Probe GT Turbo

Strength:

The 2.2 turbo engine with 145 hp and 190 lb/ft of torque.

Weakness:

The engine once torqued over so much that it pulled an intake hose loose and killed the engine. I thought that was funny. The car wasn't given a strong enough transmission to handle the power. Maybe it was just my driving.

I bought the car not running and replaced the fuel pump, and computer module from parts cars and it fired right up. I made a boost controller by hard wiring a switch to the solenoid and experimenting with some hoses that boosted me from stock psi of 7.3 to around 10. The stock rating of the 2.2 turbo engine was 145 hp which isn't much, but the 190 lb/ft of torque it put out is pretty amazing. With a jump of almost 3 psi on my turbo boost, I'd love to have my car on a dyno to check the power increases. Overall the car is quite advanced for an 89 model with Electronic ride adjust and an in dash electronic display. The car runs great for it ot be 14 years old with 160,000 miles. I still get over 20mpg in town and over 30 on the highway. Not bad for a somewhat quick car.

Strength:

Fantastic looks. Willing 2.5 L V6 engine. Good handling for a front wheel drive. Large boot for a 2 + 2. reasonable fuel economy, 30 m/Imp gal, 25 m/US gal, 8.9 L/100 km.

Weakness:

Back seats for children on short trips only. Doesn't require holding the door handle out when closing the door when engaging the central locking system - can lock keys in car! At least you only do it the one time. Poor finish between panels. Paint has crazed in places, but not too bad for an eight year old car.

Nice looking, strong performance sporty car. For a front wheel drive suprising good handling. Auto takes some of its potential away from the 2.5 Litre V6, but makes for smooth round town driving. Its great to push this car through winding roads, once the engine is above 3000 rpm the response is immediate and impressive.
