too many to list again..probably won't even get my pay off for this heap... well where to begin...my ford focus has had wheelbearings replaced x3, a new radiodue to eating tapes, a new rear window assembly, new windshied wiper switch, new headliner due to recall , the trunk locks when it wants to. have been having problems with the back door flying open while driving down the road. bought a new fuel pump 1 yr ago ( the car was 2 yrs old) due to spitting and sputtering and car choking out and now 1 yr from that it is doing it AGAIN! my car has 75,000 and we are on the 3rd set of tires new rotarand brakes x3. the door handles are wearing out and not working appropriately. ALSO the first month wehad the car the wheel well liners fell off while going down the road! had a recall for a retorque of the balljoints and now it seems we need to have new struts put on. it has qualified for almost every recall they have had on the focus. Large trunk for small car
Weakness:
Weak when A/C is on, cupholders, ctiy gas mileage Remix to Ignition! Has anybody had this problem? I have read about a million recalls about this car, and I found a new problem. Besides having bad gas mileage in bad traffic, unlike my Saturn, I have had a number of complaints with this car. It has a really small back seat for being a 4 door; really, really really weak when the A/C is on; the cupholders on the passenger side; lack of storage compartments in cab; the front seats don't recline very far; blah; blah; blah. The list could go on for ever. Similar Products Used: '95 Saturn,'88 Chevy Nova |

Great styling, quiet, solid feel, Roomy interior for a subcompact. Very good performance and handling.
Weakness:
Totally unnaceptable gas mileage for this size car. Lots of full and mid-size cars get 23mpg. Due to the short time we owned this car (1 month) I'm not qualified to discuss long-range reliability, however I was very impressed with the car and wanted to give my impression of it. The car was equipped with virtually every option offered, including a moon roof. It had the automatic transmission. It is one of the smoothest, quietest subcompact cars I have ever driven, and the 130hp 4 provided very good acceleration. The interior was surprisingly roomy for such a small car. The fit and finish were excellent, and the interior layout was very user-friendly, as they are in most Ford products. The downside was gas mileage. The car got a totally unacceptable 23mpg, whereas my much larger Pontiac Grand Am 4 gets 30, and even my Dodge Dakota gets 23. A car as small as the Focus should deliver much better gas mileage. We traded the car so soon after buying it because we had bought it for my wife and she missed the high vantage point of her old SUV, so she traded the Focus back in on another SUV. Frankly, I wish she had kept the Focus. Similar Products Used: none |

brakes for sure, whistling noise tires/brakes)not good on gas i purchased my vehicles right off the truck the day it was brought to the dealership. it is fully loaded with everything. it has been a lovely car so far. ive had it now for about 3 years. ive had about 3-4 recalls. in my 1st year i had to have the tires replaced. they were bald!!! the dealer said he could not replace under warranty because i didnt have them rotated in time. so, then i had to spend about $300. now, i have this whistling noise going on, on the pass. side near the tire. when it rains it gets worst. eventually the noise will fade away. my car also eats up alot of gas to be a 4 cylinder. wow! overall, it has been a good car to me but i have realized it is a cheap car overall and im ready for a massive upgrade! |

Everything My car runs like (you know the word). After the 10 recalls it runs worse than before. If it isn't the door locks, brakes, windshield, gauges, trans, alarm, it always something that is wrong. It sounds like a tractor running and I get weird looks on the streets from the noise. Of course they cannot hear or see anything wrong with the car. SURPRISED. |

Strength:
Comfortable, nice gas mileage, roomy trunk
Weakness:
squeaky breaks, break dust, fuel sensor problems, stereo volume My husband hates this car more than I do, but that doesn't say much. From day one squealing brakes and extreme brake dust has been an issue - I hear this is a common problem and nothing you can do. I guess I could deal with that. We've had the car in the garage 2x for putting and acting as though it was going to stall. They replaced the fuel sensor, but didn't fix it. Now they just replaced the whole fuel system! Still doesn't seem to run right. The other thing I don't like is that the radio/stereo only changes volume by large decibels! You either can't hear it or it is blaring! This car is much better than a Saturn I had, but will be selling it as soon as I can get my money out of it, which may be never! :( |

Power issues with AC on. Quirky problems like gas gauge Terrible city gas mileage for 4 cyl. Some crazy reviews in here!Biggest beef with this car was really the anal reaming I recieved from the dealer.Never buy from Shelor in VA!Bought this car used with 20k miles in Mar. 2003.So far the only problems I have had is with the gas gauge going screwy on me(temporary), and the gas mileage it gets in town.Small gas tank...sure!!!Good hwy miles though.Breaks squeak when wet,but this goes away quickly.Seen the horror stories and hoping that the previous owner got all recall work done!W/5 speed manual, notice the AC poops out when accelerating to get out on hwy. Also some vibration when at hwy. speeds.Could be front tires though. Not a bad car overall though so far! Will update if any problems. And yes...the cupholders are in a terrible place!!! Gas mileage not too bad.
Weakness:
Everything that involves the cars basic functions. Very terrible car and worse "cutomer service". Recall after recall ( just got a new safety notice this past weekend!) Brakes have squealed since first day, told by dealership " that's just how they are made". It stalled a few times - no warning. Had to fight with dealership to fix fuel injection module because was days before warrenty expired. Has new grinding/ rattle in front passenger side. ( only when in reverse) Don't know what that is yet. The electric door locks failed over the weekend. Have to do all manually. I can't wait until my lease is up and I can unload this burden. I will NEVER buy/ lease another Ford product again! |

Cute & modern design Comfort & roomy Stereo (CD player & anti-theft design) wonderful. Lumbar seat (driver side) excellent idea Trunk room massive I have the 5 speed SE model - love, love, love it! I hate automatics and was clearly excited to see mine was a stick! Good gas mileage (out of city).
Weakness:
Cup holders A/C fan belt rests too low to ground (this is new to me) Brakes squeaking nearly 100% of time A/C unit could use some upgrading in design. I just bought my car in April - I was extremely tickled to get it as I kept seeing them on the road and well, wanted one. I happened to be in the market for a newer car, as well. I have no complaints other than the following at this time: Brakes squealed from the moment of test driving - and this is NOT a 2003 model. They told me (and you can clearly see) the pads were just replaced & sound will go away. It hasn't. Still there but no grinding as of yet. A month ago, my pass. side was literally flooded with standing water from the a/c vent (and some on driver side, too). The vent was water logged and it's only made of cardboard. I learned to not use the option for a/c that shows the "knees" :)(floor)& it's not happened again. A problem related to that is the a/c belt is (under front of car) located nearly ground level. This is only a problem when I go through puddles as it pulls it (water) up off road & belt squeals as well as it locks up steering for three very LONG seconds. I obviously do not have a warranty on my car - buying it used with 37k miles on it. Any suggestions out there? Email @ wendyeb@tphone.us. I love my car with it's flaws - but it's better than what I had (Saturn) & it's not so bad all things considered. I wish I bought a newer model, but money was an issue. I think I got my money's worth right now, only hoping not to eat my words at a later date. By the way, I laugh outloud when I read other reviewers speak of the cup holders. They are very useless as the dash rests too low and it's awkward and dangerous putting your coffee in it's spot! Another note - what the hell does the "alarm" accomplish? I can never get it to go off as an example. Similar Products Used: Parents have always had Ford/Mercury products until recently (Cougar, Ranger, Sable, etc...). I've never owned a ford so my cars consisted of VW's, Saab & a Saturn. |
