Ford Crown Vic
Strength:
Very fast, yet smooth and roomy. This was a lx but had been retro fitted to be a police car by adding the chip and other high performance items such as shocks heavy duty alternator and oil cooler. It has a completely digital dash and mach 1 stero system but has bucket seats and i put the original police console back in it and added my lights and siren for security work. I wrecked in january of 00 and just got it fixed in feb of 01 for 2000.00 and i am still fixing small things on it. I also need parts for it, as you know any parts from 92-97 will fit on the exterior and 92-94 will work on the interior, so if you want to get rid of your parts please email me at lost52301@yahoo.com will pay top##dollars.
Weakness:
seats are weaks, had to replace twice, am finally having some electrical problems, door locks, headlights, and windows, also noticed it developed a small oil leak but it has not been running for 1 year so it may clear up as it gets on the road more and more i have used the car for more than 3years now for security work and have used it on private time, i love it!!! it has taken 2 bullets 3 crashes, the last one was said to have totaled it but it is back on the road again. i have strobe lights, rotating, and blinking lights on it, it also has a cage and laptop computer in it, i bought the car for 6000.00 and have put clost to 5000.00 back in it over 5 years so it has been great, wouldnt trade it for anything!!!!!!!!!! Grand Marquis
Strength:
-Size, plenty of cabin space and deep trunk impresses all.
Weakness:
ok...as hard as is it to bash my own car...., here goes.. I have owned my 1995 Grand Marquis for about 5 years and am pleased that it has been relatively reliable so far....but I expected more from this big car. The assembly quality is poor is some areas...as well as materials used. However, it is a pleasure to drive...and my friends like being passengers when we all go out. This vehicle offers a roomy, quiet cabin and nice features for a fair price. I would be happier if this car was as solid as one might think it is. If you like a big rear drive car...that handles well for its size....this is a value. I am just annoyed at some of the small repairs I have done to it. I hope they keep this model around and improve on it a bit more..before its demise. Its a good family car, good for older people (obviously designed for them..) and makes a great car to take road trips in. Similar Products Used: I use Chevy Caprices on my job often of the similar year and find the Chevrolet product is "tougher" and more durable... bu it lacks the handling of the Grand Marquis. The Chevy provides a similar ride and roominess, but it doesnt look nearly as nice or classy as the Mercury. |

Crown Vic Limited Edition SVT
Strength:
I didnt pay anything for the car, so only cost to me has been repairs and gas. The 5.0 302 is powerful with some tweaking. There is a nice soft ride, its quiet inside. It has lots of room. The body isnt doing too bad for its 17 years.
Weakness:
It wastes lots of gas in city driving. As much as I pretend it is there really never was a 1984 SVT Crown Vic. Last summer I got this idea after reading some car magazines, what if there was a 1984 SVT Limited Edition Crown Vic? I decided to make it happen, or at least look like it did. I took my 84 Crown Vic which then had about 80,000 miles (it was rebuilt though with only 34,000 so the engine has less). First I took and found an SVT logo on the internet, blew it up, and using an exacto knife I cut a few duplicates out of stainless steel tape. I then stuck these to the car. I replaced the wires and distributor cap with high performance Accel parts. I put Splitfire plugs in. I already had a K&N filter so I tried to make an air scoop for it. This worked OK for a while. I added a Limited Edition chrome sticker to the trunk (next to the LTD Crown Vic emblem, the SVT is below that) a chrome liscense plate frame. I also added a Prolong Super Lubricants sticker, Polyglycoat, Slick 50, K&N and Fuelon Stickers to the car. As fun as this was, it wasnt quite complete. I took and put a pair of projector driving lights on it. I shined the engine, putting armor all on the hoses, cleaning the dirt off and waxing the metal. I found a chrome air filter unit on clearance so I removed the whole original air vane setup, put the chrome air filter right on top of the throttle body fuel injectors, put a chrome breather cover on from Mr. Gasket, and we were all set. The chrome air filter was actually the best mod I could have added. Right out it adds about 25HP over the K&N (which added quite a bit in its own right), way noticable difference, on top of the wires plugs and distributor it was a good 60HP over the original setup (well I redid the exhaust along the way too). Lastly I added a pair of 5.0 stickers to the sides. The car has lots of pep now. I go around and spin the tires every so often, race an occasional mustang or anyone else who wants to. It always makes people wonder, is the car for real or is it a joke? I pop the hood occasionally to show off the engine which looks impressive if nothing else. I at least keep the what if question alive. The car still runs, but its getting old and overall its a nice car even without the bit of fun I have had. Crown Vics are nice cars, they ride nice, as they should. I like the handling, and they are open for a bit of a high performance modification if you are really interested. Now only if I had the 351 engine, then perhaps my little game would be more believeable... The 4 star vaule rating is because of the gas milage (I get like 13 in the city, 25 on the highway). Weakness:
the worst qualities, girls dont like the car except for the big backseat. evan though my vic is modified i guess considered still old mans car. other than that none what so ever no probs with the car at all the car gets a 10... except it could be a little lighter. other than that cars got balls. stock vic of that year 150 hp aint nothing. i dont evan think wwith the 351 itll do any good. best run to date 15.16 at 92 mph in the 1/4 and 0-60 in 6.8 seconds. compared to the other guys in here 2000 police interceptor runs 0-60 in like 8.5. ill worry when the ford blackhawk and the mercury merauder come out. but if its anything like an impala ss i fair well definitley Similar Products Used: 5.0 mustang nose to nose all the way with most. 60% 1/4 ill take one |

Lots of power, comfortable interior, great cupholders, people get out of my way, lots of space, pretty good gas mileage, quiet, rear wheel drive is a lot of fun, very nimble for its size.
Weakness:
Steering is a bit numb, but the '98 and later models are much better in this regard. I would recommend it because it is safe, comfortable, and all in all, a very nice car. So much better than any Toyota, and just as reliable. Similar Products Used: None |

The Last Great American Rear Wheel Drive Car. Unbelievable performance.
Weakness:
It should come with better exhaust system. I want to hear it roar ! But it does purr like a sweet kitten! I would recommend this car to anyone who likes power, speed, and comfort. If you love feeling like you are driving your living room couch, buy it! If you like feeling cramped into a box like a little Toyota, don't buy it. This car is only for the Big Dogs of the road. the power! the torque. handling! LX model came with driver's power seat, premium sound system, power windows/locks/mirrors. this car is very quick for its size, and can easily outrun midsize and compact cars. models with the 351w engine would give you the full power of a police car.
Weakness:
the size of the car is the major downside if your living in the city and have to paralell park continuoisly. front seats are too stiff especially when its cold. this is where the idea of getting the best bang for your buck comes in. if you want a quick, roomy, best handling, 4door, the CrownVic is the answer. Similar Products Used: this car is a crossbreed of a classic 80's Cadillac and a mustang. full-size luxury with the performance and handling of a sports car. i drove an 84 Deville for a few months and i loved the size, room, and luxury features. i only drove a mustang down a highway once and handled and accelerated beautifully. if the CrownVic had an alternate name, i'd be the Cadilstang |

I like this car because it has great power and its very roomy and comfortable. My car has done me a great deal of traveling in long distances.
Weakness:
I dont like the car because it wastes too much money on gas, these days gas is very expensive. I recommend this car to those who have a big family and also to those that do lots of traveling; its very comfortable ride. I dont recommend this car for young adults, many make them look like police cars especially like mine that it is black, causes many cops to pull you over, ive been through it myself.
