very roomy excellent on gas handles very well powerful motor
Weakness:
head gasket problem We now have 170,000kms on this car and it rides, handles and has power like it was new. Gas mileage as high as 41mpg(imp. gal)highway. We have replaced the head gasket at 50,000 kms., no problems since(under warranty) Have also replaced the tie rod end($143.00 Can., installed myself)and the drivers side wheel bearing($245.00 through dealer). The rotors were pitted at 20,000kms., I replaced them myself at 120,000kms. when changing front pads($130.00 total). Many people are getting taken advantage of by the garages, due your homework first before getting repairs. Similar Products Used: 2 topazs 2 tempos |

Is a great car. Paint still good. Faster than all the rice civics in town. Looks good too.
Weakness:
The cupholders suck! I don't know how the rest of you have so many problems with this car. I have the 2.4l and I race it! The car is fine. I've had no problems at all. I think that nobody else knows how to maintain a car properly! I've had no headgasket problems or transmission problems. Similar Products Used: Every other good car I've ever driven. |

fun to drive, and gets 32+ mpg with the 2.0 and 5-speed.
Weakness:
not a race car, but has ample power. i bought my 1995 stratus es two years ago with 100,000 miles on it. it is a 2.0 four cylinder with a 5-speed manual transmission. now i have 132,000 miles and i have not had any major problems. only an air conditioning seal was replaced outside routine maintenance, and the cost was minimal for that. its a great car for commuting, getting me 32 mpg with about 65% highway driving. took it up north for the weekend last fall and got 38 mpg! have seen cars with these engines for sale on ebay with nearly 200,000 miles. Similar Products Used: have driven cirrus with v6, and its more powerful. however the gas mileage was significantly less. |

Maybe a nice paper weight?

To big to give a proper burial in my back yard. I am laughing at all of you that say you have a Stratus with 70,000 miles and no problems....this is what I have repaired/replaced between 70k and 100k miles: head gasket, brakes, timing chain, exhaust manifold, & tie rods. And now after 1 year and $4,500 in repairs (including a multi-layered head gasket) I have noticed that my antifreeze looks like chocolate milk again. Not to mention my odometer and tach. only work half of the time, the trunk leaks when it rains, and the body is starting to rust. Similar Products Used: Ya right! |

Good power when first bought.
Weakness:
Brakes, transmission, water pump and minor other items I had the car for 4 years, first year transmission sensor went out and I had to change brakes, second year transmission sensor went out and I had to change brakes. Third year, I had to change brakes and now head gasket is leaking as well as water pump going out. This car is a piece of trash. Now, I'm having problems with the engine missing (jerking) and I don't know what the problem is, can anyone suggest what might be the cause. One more year of payments left!!!! If it holds up. I absolutely love the car for its' design, its'ride, room inside car, autostick capability.
Weakness:
Brakes, paint bubbling as well as overall paint job on car, a/c smell I have had continual problems with my brakes. Every year I have to put brakes on my car. Now the paint on the hood is bubbling. Dealer tells me that it doesn't fall under the warranty since the paint isn't visibly peeling away. I have been lied to by the dealer when replacing control arms. Told by them that they would cover cost of parts if I paid service fee. I questioned them about their policy of returning the parts to Chrysler and getting paid for them, they told me that wasn't the case. So I asked for the parts when they replaced them. Sure enough, the service manager calls me wondering if I have the parts still. They are able to return them to Chrysler. I do battle with the dealership, I write a letter to Chrysler, and nothing. Worst part, the "rattle" noise that was there, is still there! Service manager told me it had something to do with my brakes and that they could fix that but he wasn't sure if I would have to pay for it. I told him absolutely not. If they didn't cover the cost, don't touch my car. They repaired it and the noise was gone for a couple months. Chrysler knows there is a problem with their braking system and yet does nothing to rectify it. I owned a Dodge Shadow before this car and drove it 9 years with replacing the brakes once and the clutch once, all in the 7th year of ownership. I have two years to pay on this car and will get rid of it immediately when it is paid off, if not before. It scares me with what might happen next! I am most disappointed with Chrysler and their lack of concern for customer satisfaction. Similar Products Used: Dodge Shadow...a great car. I should have never sold it... |

the whole car is a weekness. and I still have three years on this car Right after I bought the car the air conditioner compessor went on it. Then my transmision went before the end of the first year. At the same time my brakes went and now I need new brakes again. I will never buy a dodge again. It was my first and last time buying a dodge. The company should be ashamed. I called the company on the problems and they were rude. Beware never buy a status. No!!! never buy a dodge. Their JUNK!!!! |

I have had this car for 5 years, I just paid it off a few months ago. It's at 95,000 miles. I haven't had any problems other than a dead battery. |
