I love my Car it is the greatest but i am a little worried by reading eveyone elses review if i need to expect any of these problems!!!

DO NOT BUY THIS CAR...HEAD GASKETS LEAKED TERRIBLY..I HAD TO KEEP A CASE OF OIL AND TRANSMISSION FLUID IN MY TRUNK. THEN ONE DAY IT JUST CAUGHT ON FIRE...If there is anyone who wants to start a class action suit let me know.

Had my car in for it,s first oil change since I bought it. The dealer informed me that my head gasket was leaking. Thanks to this forum I purchased a Chrysler warranty.Wendell Motors is going to pay for my $100 deductible. I knew there was a problem and now it will be fixed.

It seems that dodge and bad transmission run hand in hand. Engine revs high in upper gears - gets loud.

I got the car used in 99 - had it for 3 1/2 yrs now. I loved the look of the stratus - still do. Transmission had to be replace within a year. Front and rear wheel bearings went after 100K (lots of city driving), steering rack is on its way out now. I wanted to drive this car for 1-2 more years, but I''ve been forced to scrap it now - maintenance is too high.

I am a diesel mechanic by trade. This is a good reliable car. No problems I have 215K nothing but standard maintinance (brake pads, oil changes, plugs etc.)

Performance, performance, and..oh yeah..did I mention performance? Loads of fun to drive. Great appearance...best paint finish on any car I''ve ever owned. Great sound system.

Had to have front and rear rotors turned at 7,000 miles but I drive in heavy traffic every day. Road noise is pretty loud, especially with sunroof open. My biggest complaints are with the poor service from the dealership and the almost total lack of after-market products. This car is probably the best-kept secret out there which is unfortunate for those of us who want to make the best even better.

I''ve had my R/T eleven months now and love it more every day! This car aims to please and will turns heads everywhere you go. Call me kinky but I''m having a love affair with this car...it''s that awesome!

definatly the location of cup holder does interfear with gear shifting with a coffee mug. limited visibility with rear and side view mirror

Dodge quality, transmission''''s horrible, fit and finish.

I''''ve owned this car for 15 months now and I''''ve brought it to the dealer 5 times for different problems. Before I even took it off the lot, I was informed of a recall having to do with the trip computer (it wasn''''t even working then). I''''ve had the heating system''''s electrical short out. Loose parts rattling in the interior (huge pet peeve). The engine races for no reason (cold or warm starts). It''''s an automatic transmission and it shifts rough, it has lag. It''''s hard to explain. This would be a good car for someone who''''s not picky or drives alot. I drive about 22,000 miles/year so I want to be happy in the car that I''''m driving. I''''m not happy with this car. If I was already spending $24,000 for this car, I should have forked over a couple more thousand for a car that would last and make me happy. Oh well.

Roomy

Engine and most all other under-the-hood components are of such low quality and design that there should be a class action lawsuit against Chrysler. Head gaskit was replaced at 25000 miles, now is leaking again. Water pump broke, replaced it last week and now it sounds as if it is going out again(like a radiator hiss). Car leaking oil in 4 areas. Right front axile is loose and slinging grease. A/C heater blower went out(only blowing through defrost vent). Right front tie rod replaced.

***Stay away from this car and the company who has the nerve to manufacture it.
