I bought this car at 102000km, (Canada) and it is now at 113000km, I have had no problems with this car, other than the brakes needing some work, but that is expected. I love almost everything about this car except, I wish it had a bigger engine, preferably a 3.1L V6. But other than that, it has always run smoothly, and it has never left me stranded. (P.S. I love the color Purple, my fave)

Not any major complaints at this point. It seems from reading some of the reviews the 96-97 Stratus is junk. I just hope they have improved! We will see. I bought the car at 26,000 miles and it now has 31,000. Runs smooth (although a little rough when in park, dealer doesn't see any errors on the computer). I have had the headlight replaced twice due to moisure inside and going back for a third time. I still love it. It is a beautiful car for the money.

I have got to say I love this car Im into car tuning but when this car was stock I smoked two vw jettas three honda civics and kept pace with a 96 chevy ss monte carlo now i have just done about everything to this car full body kit custom interior turbo nos intercooler apexi blow off valve racing exhaust port and polished engine performance chip koni adjustable shocks eibach pro kit wich lowered the car two inches big brake system 5000 watt sound system (rockford fosgate)by the way neon under body kit believe me when I say this if I pull up to a red light on any street nobody I mean nobody will stop thier car nose to nose with me that pssst from the turbo and the thunderous sound from the exhaust has brought many curious tuners to ask me what im running under my hood Oh Ialmost forgot to mention my wheels Axis Hagen 19x8 wrapped in yokohama perada spec 2 rubber

Nothing besides the fact that it is the base model stratus and i didn't have any say in the options it has ;-) LOL

I just wanted to say to all the people that hate this car they need to get a life, i am 16 years old and yes the head gasket was blown but if they would look at dodge's web site they would see that there is a recall because the head gaskets are faulty on the 2.4L engines, the car runs great!! Some people may say it is too cheap and breaks a lot, well you know what i say, dodge isn't sheap, a ford in the same price range and size won't last as long as my dodge will. people just need to look at the facts before opening thei mouth. There areproblem but they are fixed, it isn't dodge's fault it is the company that made the head gasket!

Stylish, roomy, keyless entry, remote start, great acceleration, relatively quiet.

Well, so far the only complaint from her is the cup holders, and the seats aren't the most comfortable. Other than that all is well so far, however after all the reviews I've read here, you scaring me just a little, because if we run into any of those problems I.E head gasket ETC, the car will be junk.

Well I bought this car for my wife, we happenned to see it on E-bay, and relized the seller was right down the road. Any way, we test drove it and she loved it, plus the price seemed good. She loved the car so far.

The head gasket

I have had this car since it first took its first step off the dealers lot. Its a great car. I have not had any problems other than having to replace the head gasket which warranty took care of most of the price, I only needed to pay 100. I think that all you guys with the car raggin on it, I think that you either need to get a new one to see how it really runs and make sure it gets all its recommended changes like oil change and so on. I have had the car ran it really hard since I have started driven it and it still runs great. it has all the power to SMOKE all those wimpy cars out there. I have smoked a Camero Iroc AND MY CAR IS A STALK 2.0!!!!! Its supposed to only produce 132 horses.. Maybe Like I said, you guys need to take care of the car not trash it; just cause you dont like the car doesnt mean trash it.....

I love the car and have to say that anyone who gives this car a bad review must be nuts!! I have only had the car a couple of days and i absolutly love it,no problems at all.

My husband's daughter in law gave us her '95 Stratus last August when she purchased a new vehicle. At times the car drives as tho I was pulling out of the show room floor. Many other times, however, the car develops odd problems that neither my mechanic or the dealership seems able to diagnose. The car will suddenly lose speed and power, some times for a moment, sometimes for several miles. I can usually correct the problem by pumping the peddle, but have had to shift into neutral (while driving), turn the car off, turn it back on, and shift into gear. Also, I have a door sensor that is completely insane, informing me quite often that a door is ajar. The car does so by way of dings, flashing lights, and the door locks running. I would get this fixed, but as I have already invested $1700.00 in an attempt to correct the fuel problem, I have decided to buy a Toyota. Ijust can't afford this "free" car any longer

Oxygen sensons!!!

Question: Has anyone experienced any problems with the oxygen sensors in their 2001 Stratus. I only have 16,000 miles and I have replaced 2 with in the last month. The reason I have been given is that my car must be sitting for an extended period of time. I informed the dealership that my car is used every signal day that it isn't at their dealership. Does anyone have any thoughts?

I car sum up my car with two words Hot garbage. The car looks nice but thats about it. Im trying to figure out how dodge can get away with selling this piece of junk. Please somebody tell me why at 9,700 mile my brakes went out, horn/cigarette lighter doesnt work, headlights are as dim as a 10watt lightbulb, steering makes horrible knocking sound, steering is bad, ect, ect, ect. Never again. Ever. I dont look forward to what I am in store for with this piece of crap.
