Strength:

Acceleration A/C Design Mileage Trunk space

Weakness:

The back speakers where pretty bad Changed them for 2 260 watts Pioneer.

This car is just the best. I dont know about previous versions of it but i do know that it has been just great. The A/C freezes me every time and its acceleration is pretty good even being an automatic. i guess this got better because they put overdrive in the gear box i guess.

Strength:

Mileage, low maintenance costs, and the room for backseat passengers. A very quiet ride for today's cars in this price class.

Weakness:

Storage capacity within the vehicle for your daily travel items. Rather limited. Glove box way too small. In towns where you need to have things out of sight, the only option is the trunk.

I think this is the best car going for the price class. It offers power, room, basic but appreciated options, and has great looks.

Strength:

decent power for a 4 cylinder with the 5 speed(at least mine has decent power) 36+ mpg, decent ride for a compact car.

Weakness:

Ive sat here for 10 minutes trying to think of anything really wrong with my car, I guess the windows getting air blow by if the door is slammed to hard

As with all neons the head gasket was replaced, and still leaked oil, then the cam position sensor was replaced, hasnt leaked a drop since. replaced the radiator after an accident. the battery. with over 105,000 miles I guess I can't complain.

Strength:

The car seems to be one of a kind. I haven't seen any other Neons where I live that are as fixed up as mine.

Weakness:

The acceleration is horrible. I have an automatic and have made some basic bolt-on performande mods and the car is still slow.

I got the car in October of 1999 when the new model just came out. I have put a very good sound system in. I have two Rockford Fostgate HX2 speaders powered by a Audiobahn 1,600 watt amp. I also replaced all the internal speakers and put a Panasonic CD deck in place of the stock one. I have done some minor performance mods like a AEM cold air intake, a custom Magnaflow cat-back exhaust, and a MPx underdrive pulley. To improve the appereance of the car I installed a sunroof, spoiler, Motegi Racing rims, dropped the car 1.5 inches with the Eibach Pro Kit, and a body kit from Andy's Auto Sport.

Strength:

It has never stalled and left me stuck somewhere.

Weakness:

Alot read above

This is the biggest piece of junk I have ever come accros. The first problem I experienced was the passenger side window leaks air badly it very loud. The next thing was the knob for the defrost/panel/floor got stuck on panel and we had no defroster all winter. Then the head gasket started leaking, we now go through 5 courts of oil a day and shouldnt even be driving the car. Then for a while whenever someone opened and shut the passenger door the dome light would stay on. And Last the back passenger stut is out and car is hitting metal on metal. In other words DO NOT BUY A NEON.

Strength:

good hwy mpg...excellent power...lots of room...huge trunk

Weakness:

sensitive computer...windows don't always seal

I got this car from my parents as a graduation present in 1997. The only problems I have had are air blowing through the window from the seal not sealing and the service engine soon light coming on from a misfired cylinder. I live in the mountains and am very impressed with the power it has and absolutely love the cruise control. I have also almost outraced a few V8's with my 4 cylinder DOHC so I was impressed.
