Strength:
good sound system, great look, has good "get up and go",& drives very well,
Weakness:
dont have many weaknesses but the gas mileage could be better, and my pealing dash. My neon has been great since ive had it. Ive only had a couple problems with it but the waranty covered it. when i bought it the horn was going out and i had some problems with the battery but that was my fault for hooking to much stuff up to it. Also right above the stearing wheel on the dash is starting to peal because of it bubbling, other than that it drives great on the highway. I havent done much to my neon but get tinted windows and 17" rims. i still wanna get a body kit and some other things for it. but my neon is great and have had no bad luck with it and im sorry that so many of you have. Its a great little car and got my money's worth. |

Weakness:
Everything. Horrible shaking, high idle (my whole interior shakes while sitting at a light) sometimes stalls out for no reason. Loud road noise. My dad bought my 2000 neon for me just before my 18th Birthday. I have had the car for over two years now and would give anything to get rid of it. The car vibrates a lot and has recently been repaired for an oil leak. Just this weekend my a/c went (try living in South Florida with no a/c). I was involved in an accident last July... $6000 in damage and my insurance company fixed it. I absolutly hate this car and do not recommend it to anyone. The auto body shop people (after my accident) were stunned that my airbag didn't go off as it should have. This car is a big hole to pour money into. This car certainly does not hold up like Civic's do. Similar Products Used: 95 Honda Civic (so much better!!) |

Handling
Weakness:
Buy one and you'll find out on your own in a couple of months. Do not buy neon. These cars are small and weak and they have throw-away engines. They are not built to last, dodge must have a scam going so you have to buy a new one every year. The interior is ugly and flimsy, and the seats are uncomfortable. Plus it rattles sooooo much. Do not plan to be able to walk away from one of these after a crash, better carry your own "jaws of life" with you. The only good thing is the handling, but it has a cheap suspension. I have had much better luck with my Ford Focus because it is a well made vehicle. Similar Products Used: Ford Focus |

Weakness:
has gotten a really really bad rep. this is my second car that i have ever owned ( my previous car was a 86 toyota camry) and i love it to death. Im not sure if i love it because ive never had a brand new car or if it really is a good car. The car drives well and all the features are wonderful (6 cd changer, color dash accent, white meter colors, rims, spoiler ect) i believe that it drives very well and althought i havent driven it very long i havent had any problems. im interested in putting a turbo in the engine but dont know much about it and the prices ( speaking of which if you know anything write me at sonloco84@aol.com) The older cars (98 and older) seemed like a goof but my new car seems absolutly wonderful, i guess we will find out soon enough. All in all i believe this car is great and i suggest every one buy the sxt or rt models because they are great! Similar Products Used: none, previously owned a toyota camry |

POS! everything is wrong with my car, its going back in tomorrow for the 77th time in a 1 and 1/2 year time of owning it! what a lemon! i hate it! Thinking on buying a neon? DONT! bigest mistake you could ever make, sure the car looks cool and may seem cool for the first few months but after that its a pile of junk and a nightmare waiting to happen, i have had tons of repairs done to my 2001 dodge neon ES and ive only owned it for a little over a year bought in october 01 brand new 23 miles on it what a POS! Waterpump, leaking coolant, powerstearing pump, powerstearing rod, stering coloulm, powerstearing mechanism, very bad vibrations, rough idle below 500 rpm, sometimes dies out, dealer says its normal.. haha yeah and pigs fly right? Don't Buy dodge, squeeky breaks loud noises while driving bad suspension.. the list goes on.. very bad product, sorry i wasted my money on it. Similar Products Used: First car, deffently left a bad impression, never will i buy dodge again. Crappy products. |

Good fuel economy. If well maintained, very reliable. Never got stranded. Fun to drive.
Weakness:
D/C four cylinders always leak oil because the aluminum heads warp, engine lag when air cond. or defrost is on. Motor mount bolts used in '96 manufacture are wrong size, so they wiggle and eventually snap. I owned the Neon Highline, like all D/C four cylinders, has an aluminum head. The head warps under heat and stress, and eventually you leak oil, lots of oil. Head gasket did not/will not fix the problem. Short of replacing the head or a specially designed gasket, the problem will never go away. The four cylinder also lacks the power to sustain usage of the air conditioning. Eventually just stopped using the air for fear of pulling into traffic and getting killed because of the bog down. Only other major problem I had with the car was a front motor mount. Sucker snapped going over a speed bump. All other features of the car were fabulous, so I bought a 2003. So far no probs, will wait to see for oil leak, and they have corrected the engine lag with the air on,.... Similar Products Used: 2003 neon |

Fairly good gas milage, so far no problems. I've put over 10,000 miles on this car since September 2002. The only thing I've had to do is get an alignment because I hit a pretty huge pothole! That was covered under warrenty, thank God!
Weakness:
SO far, I can't see any weaknesses. I wish it got better gas milage, but I can't complain. I get about 320 miles to the tank. My '93 Ford Probe SE got 500 miles to the tank, that was very cool! I got this 2003 model brand new in September 2002. This car is wonderful. It's solar yellow, has a spoiler, 6 in-dash CD Changer, 16" alloy wheels with low profile tires and yellow accented front console. It's the shiznit! I want to get a turbo charger put on this bad boy, but my funds are limited. Besides, most chicks, such as myself, don't really tweak up their cars. nice looking fun to drive easy to maintain
Weakness:
brake system weak squeely brakes a/c unreliable sunroof poorly designed Had this 2 door Expresso a few years with relatively minor problems. 120k on it at the moment and the whole front brake system needed to be replaced due to uneven wear of the pads. Squeely annoying rear brakes. The sunroof has stuck a few times and the a/c has been broken for the past year. Other than that it's been reliable and fun to drive. No major engine problems, just maitenance. |

Weakness:
.... YOU HAVE TO FIX SOOO MUCH STUPID THINGS, BLOWER MOTOR, BELT TENSIONER ASEMBLY, A/C LEAKS ALL READY, TRUNK LEAKS ALL THREW OUT THE WHOLE BACK SEAT. BY THE WAY, IT GETS CRAP FUEL MILEAGE!!! MAN, I'VE ALWAYS BEEN A MOPAR GUY, BUT HONESTLY , SAVE YOUR MONEY BUY AN IMPORT. THE CAR RIDES HANDLES NICE, BUT IT HAS SO MANY QUIRKS. I'VE OWNED 5 DODGE SHADOWS 87-91, TURBO AND N/A. I WOULD TAKE ANOTHER ONE IN A HEART BEAT. THEY WERE A BETTER CAR!! |
