big trunk, strong v6 with 200 hp. can really get up an go. smooth ride. good value for the money.
Weakness:
very bad blind spots. had backing up. and changing lanes on highway. may have problems in near future with windows. no problems yet but after reading alot of the peoples reviews iam getting alittle nervous on what may happen to me. so far i have no problems with the car. i enjoy how it rides. (very smooth) i see when you go to put drivers window up it does have a tendency to make a small noise when it hits the rubber part. i find driving the car is alittle hard to get use to because of the high back window it is very hard to see out backing up and while driving the car has tramendous blind spots on all area of the car. other than that i find the car very impressive for the money. the trunk space is awesome you can camp out inside comfortabley if you had too because seats fold down. as far as looks go i rate it a 10. it has a monster look an is very unique stlye. Dodge Intrepid
Strength:
lots of interior room
Weakness:
overall quality is poor I owned this car for four years and had 70,000 miles when I sold it. My experience with it was poor. The first thing I noticed was the front end alignment was off - the car driftd to the left. After four attempts, the dealer could not correct the problem. There were also many rattles. The stereo speakers buzzed at any hint of low notes. The paint chipped very easily - the hood was slowly turning from red to gray as the e-coat became more and more visible. The rotors warped at 10,000 miles. The A/C stopped working at 55,000 miles (condensor). The windshield had distortions in it that warped the view at the bottom. The resale value was ridiculous. Similar Products Used: I bought an Infiniti G35 for $30K (about the same price as a loaded Intrepid). No copmarison, the G beats the Dodge in every respect, hands down. |

Strength:
Love the look and lots of room (especially the trunk).
Weakness:
Sensor failure, door lock failur, power window failure. The first 2 1/2 years with this car were great. Then the problems began. I've had to replace sensors, the door locks jammed/grinded and needed to be replaced. The latest problem is the driver power window which came of the track and has to be replaced. I'll never purchase a Dodge again. I'm going to stick w/ Honda from now on. |

Looks, comfort and room inside the car and the trunk.
Weakness:
Door locks, brakes, fan motor Blah! I loved the car when I first bought it. I bought it used but thank goodness it had a warranty! a week after I bought it I had to bring it back to get the rotors and brakes changed. 3 months later the fan belts snapped. One month after that the auto door locks started grinding and needed to replace 3 of the motors. 6 months after that the door locks started grinding again!! I had to get 2 of them replaced this time. about 3 months ago I had to fix the cooling system and then I had to replace transmission!! Now the brakes need to be done again! I love the way this car looks and the room inside is great but my goodness it isn't worth the trouble! |

Everything about it. The whole car! This is the worst car ever. Out of the four sensors, I have already replaced 3 of them. All of my power windows have problems, they grind when trying to raise or lower, if they do that much. The two front windows won't even roll up if you roll them down, the rear driver side window won't even roll down. The transmission is acting up. I would not recommend a Dodge Intrepid to anyone! This is truly the worst car ever. |

everything else this car is the worse ever. i am 21 yrs old and dont have money to put into a car every 10 seconds. one week after i had this car the brakes went and had to have them done over meaning the rotors and the brakes. it has been one month since this was done and now when i start my car up after it having been sitting for a couple of hours it makes a loud screeeeeeeching noise. i also hear a loud fan noise while i am parked or at a light. when i go to pull off from a red light it takes forever and a day for my car to pick up. what the hell were these people thinking making these cars. i regret buying this car and it sucks for them because i wanted my next car to be a dodge durango noooooooooootttttttttttt!!!!!!! |

Weakness:
Radio (not loud enough) windows (regulators/motors) door handles under the hood problems I have had this car since February of 2003 and it is only August. I have taken this car to CarMax 6 times. The problems that I am having are: replaced window regulator (2 times), loud noises in the engine, cam shaft positioner, lights dim for no reason, door handles get stuck and seatbolt was changed due to a recall. This is the crapiest car in history. Please if you know anyone who is getting a Intrepid, only purchase a 2003. The other models are terrible. When you take the other models to get fixed they act as if you did something wrong or you don't know what you are talking about. They also cover up what they did in order to make you think nothing was wrong in the first place. Don't buy a Intrepid unless it is 2003 and don't buy from CarMax becuase they will do nothing but piss you off. They don't inspect their cars like they say they do. |
