Silver is very sharp for this car, very smooth and comfortable ride. Back seat is very spacious,great for kid!

the only weakness is the headlight covers are dirty on inside.

We bought our 97 Avenger a couple months ago and we knew we had to put front half shafts on right away,but since it has been a fabulous car! It is very roomy, and really looks great! We love this car,and the 2.0 is quick--just get on it!!

head light covers discoloring check engine light come on too much,which can get expensive but doesn't effect the ride of the vechicle.

I love the car, it looks great always well kept. I had my car for 6 yrs with alot of miles on it(160k). I lot of people can't believe it that old or the miles. just a few problems mostly check engine light.

We have only had the car for a little over a week and the day we got it we only drove a block away and the check engine light came on. Then we took it to firestone it went away. And a few days later it came back on again. They said they couldn't find any problems with it. Overall it is a pretty good car. The body is nice and it has tons of backseat and trunk room. Very nice car, except when stopped it shakes. Haven't had any problems other than that yet. It isn't as fast or quick as you'd expect it to be. But that can be and hopefully will be changed.

My 'venge is a sweet ride, but the reliability sucks. In the six months that i've had it, everything has gone. Transmission, radiator leaks, electrical system (over and over again), just to name the big ticket problems, and now my steering is grinding. On the other hand, I love the fact that it's a real head turner, and it's so uncommon here that people are always asking what it is. The perfomance is great with the v6, especially in the first 2 gears. If you want one, GET ONE ... but with less than 120 000 kilometers, if you dont want a money pit. and yeah, thats $7000 canadian. PS where do you find decent perfomance parts for the V6?

Looks good 5 speed model allows you to feel the tourque of the 2.0l. Good stock sounds system good price for those who cant afford an eclipse. Handles very well good gas mileage 4cyl. Good exceleration stock suspension is good. Roomy back seat

Electric system! Before you get one get it checked. The 2.0l motor should be stronger the car is heavy and you can feel it. Weak 3rd gear, sometimes you have to force the shifter in reverse frount head lights get foggy and cloudy looking

Dodge Avenger 97 with power options, 4cyl and Black. Overall good car but the electrical system should have been made better. My horn doesnt work, and my back up lights dont work . My cigarette lighter doesnt work either it keeps poping fuses. I would have gotten the V6 but its only an auto and the trannys on them always have problems. Also check the 2.0l head for leaks they are prone for leaky head gaskets even though I havent experienced it yet. I have owned many cars mainly imports and wanted to give a domestic a try, I miss my Honda and will go back!!! I would recomend it to others but get the electric checked and check the 4cyl 2.0 for head leaks. Aftermarket stuff is available for this car if you search www.asog.net is a great site for enthusists also some stuff for it is compatable with the eclipse and talon 4cyl.

steering wheel does not go very high. dodge just put parts in that would on last til warranty went out.

it was a horrible first ride. when i got it the breaks and rotors were shot. i took it to mechanic and he said their was 3000 dollars worth of work that needed to be on it. that is how much i spent on the car. the person we bought it from is an old single lady so she treated it good.

I love my car!! I've always loved the Avengers. The body shape is awsome. I was a little worried at first about getting a two door car, but the inside of the car is huge. My back seat has more room than some four door cars. It's a fun car to drive, it handles great!!

Got this car when i turned 16, I've only had it for three months but I love it. Looks great, fast, corners great, pretty good gas mileage too. The brakes are a lil touchy at first, but drive it and you'll get the hang of it. Chicks love it, all my friends wanna have a turn to drive it. Two words "cool car".

I bought the Avenger for my first car. The audio was f****d, i had to re-do everything, the last owner tried to rip everything out when it was getting repoed. I put a 400 watt MTX amp in it, and 2 Jensen 10s. Im not sure if its fast, i cant drive it for another month. Im putting exhaust on it, and a cold air intake like next week. My friends say its slow, even slower than a 97 neon... It pisses me off, i wish i knew more about it. Its only the 2.0 5 speed, but i like it. And the bling blingin 16" chrome rims the last owner put on it.

I have had my avenger for less than a week. i love it already. although it is hard to find performance parts. The ones that i have found are a little on the expensive. it handles better than my 1995 eclipse did. it does need a rear spoiler.
