Strength:

-4 cylinder: Good on gas and you only have to change 4 spark plugs instead of 6, 8, or 10. -Concealment: For such a compact car, it's got a lotta secrets under the hood..... -Top speed: 4-speed automatic, tops out at 155? Come on, now!!!! -Sporty yet classy look: No decals or fancy paint jobs and/or lights, spoilers needed. This car is great without em!

Weakness:

-Weight problem: This car is pretty heavy! -Not so sturdy body: If you like to enjoy a car ride, them some problems may occur en route to destination, most of the body is fiberglass and plastic (G.I. Joe car!) -Take offs a b*tch!!: Slow take off, but toppin out is a trip!!!

I am a proud ass owner of a 95 Dodge/Mistubishi Avenger. I gotta say, that around my city..there are lots of "goings on" with cars, and the Avenger can perform with the best of them. For such a heavy car and being only 4 cylinder automatic, this car is absolutely #$%^&^ great!! It's like a beautiful woman: Fast, great to look at, fun as hell to ride but really expensive to keep-up. The Avenger has the best of both worlds: Strong American intuition and muscle with Far Eastern Japanese technology and innovations. If you want a sports car that is as sporty looking as a Ferrari but not as tacky-looking as a wanna-be Yoshi racer, hey a basic Avenger sans Spoiler and you have speed and class!!!!!!! Peace & One Luv, ~ptc

Strength:

Handles well, comfortable ride, fast, looks sharp!

Weakness:

Brakes, doesn't make turns very well, and repairs are prices because parts are hard to come by.

I love my avenger. It to saved my life. I was reended by a semi on the interstate last june, and because the trunk are so large it crumbled that abd saved me. My car was totaled but I loved it so much that I bought it back for a 100.00 and had it fixed. The first year that I had it I had tons of problems with it. But the only major problem I'm having with it know is my brakes. I have raced a lot of guys who thought there cars were better than mine, but I soon proved them way wrong. I've won a lot of races. Anyway its a great car I wouldn't trade it for the world!!

Strength:

great body style that I think really decieves some when they know how old it is. It is wonderful on gas.

Weakness:

poor visibility and headlights needs more power for the weight but what can I expect with a 4 cylinder..

My daughter had purchased this car at a local dealer here used. She had numerous problems with the motor so later my dad took it over & it was under warranty but he paid the differnce for another motor to be put in. I loved the look so when he decided to sell it I bought it. I must say I haven't had any major problems in the 3 years I have owned it. I have a flipflip color that is really pretty & keeps people guessing what color it is. The color still looks shiny and glossy more so than newer cars I have seen. I do wish it had a larger motor though since it is a heavier built car.

Strength:

Safety features. Especially the steel reinforced doors. Totalled in 2001. $11k paid by insurance on current value.

Weakness:

Turns like a Mack truck.

This car saved my life. I was t-boned by a 1980 Ford 250 4x4 work truck while making a left hand turn. The steel reinforced door allowed me to walk away from what was deemed a would-be fatal accident. It took the fire department 40 minutes to get me out of the carnage. Unfortunately, my beloved Fat-Bottom-Girl was DOA. I had her from 13 miles on the odometer. I never had ANY problems with her and got an astounding 32 mph (highway). She always turned heads and had more power than a lot of the dinky "sports cars" on the road today. If you have an Avenger, keep it! That amazing car saved my life!

Strength:

A great car for picking up the ladies, they love this car. Huge back seat and trunk. Alot of power when it gets into 3rd gear.

Weakness:

You need a football field to pull off a U-Turn in this thing. Alot of road noise. Not all that great on gas milage, I would say 12 - 15 L / 100 Km.

Its been a great car, I bought it Spring 2002 and of course bought the ES with the V6, automatic, Leather, the whole nine yards. Havent had any problems until lately. Lower control arms (factory recall), front wheel bearings and now the exhaust. Went through tires in 6 months, and being 17" they arent cheap

Strength:

- unique styling - spacious 2 door - knock out paint job - excellent stock sound system - good gas mileage

Weakness:

- low end torque weak, power in the midrange 3000rpm + - large turning radius - sun visors almost useless for side window protection - not the smoothest V6/automatic I've driven

Bought used. My 1998 Avenger was 2 years old with 14,000 miles on it. I was looking for a sporty used car when I found this Paprika gem. My main reason for purchasing the car was its unique styling and relative scarcity on the road. When you can't afford the fancy toys it is nice to get something special for low dollars. Having a family makes it tough to go for a two door coupe but this car is more like a 2+2 with a cavernaous backseat. The backseats also fold down for additonal access to the trunk. The trunk is also far lorger than anything you will find on a sporty car - mustang, camero, etc. The standard 6-speaker AM/FM/Cassette/CD sound system is excellent. In 3 years I have reached 100,000 miles with no major problems. Following the maintenance schedule and zMax twice a year keeps my Avenger running like the day I bought it. My main gripe with a car this sporty is that the V6 and auto tranny are not the smoothest when hard acceleration is needed. I find myself shifting it manually thru the gears, especially for downshifting to help braking and RPM control. Drivetrain does not kick in until 3000RPM or better. After that it is free revving to the redline with good pulling power. I average 28 miles per gallon which is about 350 miles on a tank full of regular gas.

It looks good when i drive it,it drives good , it came with all the toys , i've put over 30,000miles on it in a year and haven't had a problem yet

Weakness:

it starts off kind of slow even though i have a v6, i've had trouble with speed sensor, and maintenance is kind of expensive.

I love my car i wouldn't trade it unless i had too ,it's very sporty and sexy, you can't lose with this car especially when the car is black w/black tinted windows.

Strength:

I love taking corners in this car..it helps to have wider tires to. Tons of room in the back and trunk. I like the way it looks on the outside. And i like how u don't see alot of them like civics, i wanted something that no one really had, to be different. It doesn't have much of a problem racing most sticks and all autos off the line. Sounds great with an intake and exhaust!

Weakness:

The engine needs more power to compete with lighter cars. Needs some sort of lighting on the doors to see where the door knob is. My hood shakes at high speeds on one side. And the darn driver seat isn't center with the steering wheel!!!

I've had my Avenger for almost four years now and I still love it!! It looks great, (white)pw everything..2.0) is a blast to drive and it has the room of a sedan, which is unheard of in a "sports car". It looks great with 17 inch rims and cleans up really great! I've heard some bad things, like electrical and tranny problems, but i've only had the engine light come on twice because of cracked plugs. I bought the thing with 37k and i'm just about to pass 125k with the org. clutch..no prblems with it at all! Still runs like a champ!
