Strength:

Looks nice, average mileage.

Weakness:

Brakes are worthless, replaced 2x in 35K miles. Handles very poorly. Wind noise is awful, car sounds like its falling apart when hitting bumps or potholes. Not interested in owning another.

Will be getting rid of this car very soon.

Similar Products Used:

Monte Carlo, was junk to begin with, got about 5K good miles out of it. Dodge Dynasty, good car up to 165K then problems begin to surface.

Strength:

great handling, infinity stereo, acceleration was decent, nice look with low-profile tires, got a great deal on it.

Weakness:

brakes- mine died at 20 K miles. little things kept it in the shop. the dealerships had horrible customer relations. the wheel bearings were worn out after 23 K miles, and it made the car vibrate badly on the freeway.
some things seemed cheaply made on the interior.

it was in the shop all the time. especially for the brakes, and wheel bearings.
overall, i would say i enjoyed driving the car, but i would never get another, maybe not even another chrysler product (even with my employee discount).
hopefully the newer models have been improved in the braking area, but from what i have read, they haven't.
also, the turning radius was terrible, in my new olds alero, i can turn around in a street without doing a "Y" turn, but with the sebring, that wasn't possible.

Strength:

Very beutiful car. With great room and a lot of storage. Drop top

Weakness:

The brakes have already started to squik on me.

I think this car is not for teens although i do love mine. I am very picky about it. I hate going over potholes because it does not handle well and when you are driving in the wind it is awful. But put all of that aside i love my car

Strength:

got one my third year of college back in '95 when no one had one -- or had even seen one. looks very cool. decent stereo for factory install. above-average in snow. surprisingly large rear seat. lots of room in trunk. despite its looks, hard to get a speeding ticket (see below)

Weakness:

definitely not an enthusiast's car -- my girlfriend could out-race me in her jetta. another one in her altima. brakes suck. new rotors every 10k miles (?). very low wind noise, until you hit even the smallest bump when the car sounds like it's going to fall apart. suspension a little soft. turning radius too wide.

few problems to report, other than warped brake rotors, before i hit 80k miles. now it has close to 100k, and i've spent far more on the engine alone than i would've on a down payment for a audi tt.
in other words, great for the first four years, but beyond that....
perfect chick car (great looks; lousy performance), or a great car if you want something fairly dependable for the kid going off to college AND do not want to worry about the speed potential of a 'stang or an eclipse.

Nice style very balsy engine for $$$. Roof super easy to operate.

Weakness:

American Car... 'nuff said.

I rented one (Siebring JXI, Convertible) from Alamo for a weekend in FLA, pleasant surprise. Was really fun to drive. Surprisingly fast... rolls very comfortably >100.

Strength:

The styling is beautiful. The convertible top works flawlessly and is easy to put up and down with the push of a button. It also comes with a standard glass window. My Sebring has a CD player with Infinity speakers. This stereo is absolutely awsome for being straight from the factory!

Weakness:

Although the styling leads a person to believe the Sebring is a sports car, its performance is far from that. The automatic transmission is extremely choppy, the power of the V6 2.5 liter engine is less than impressive, and the handling is like that of a "boat" instead of a performance car.

If you are looking solely for a convertible, the Sebring is a great choice. If you are looking for a sports car that has the added feature of being a convertible, stay away from the Sebring. You will not be happy.

Strength:

Nice options set for the price - CD, power everything, 3 programmable infrared transmitter, autodimming rearview mirror. V6 isn't great, but has some punch when passing. Gets decent mileage (except when AC is on). Hopefully I'll get a decent trade in amount for it in a couple years.

Weakness:

in-dash CD player gets very dirty and tends to skip a lot even with brand new disks. if you can get a separate changer, do it. Tire rims *very* poorly made (may be fixed in later models) and tend to get bent very easily in pothole-laden Chicago (4 flats related to this in the past few years).

Good car for the $$.

Strength:

Styling- fully loaded- Sunroof, leather, cruise, power everything, good rearseat-trunk access, comfortable seating (armrest), great stereo, quiet, low profile = smooth ride. In general sassy interior design makes the car look much more expensive than it really is. Exterior design very sporty, sleek and flashy. I have factory option chrome rims- SUCH a difference from the standard alloys. Dent resistant doors...kinda has that rubbermaid trash can thing going on- when pressured the door panels yeild and then return back into place. Awesome and fun for just crusin' around.

Weakness:

Unfortunately, there are several problems: turning radius is horrible-get ready for 9-point turns, constant complaints that the back seats are too small, not enough headroom and uncomfortable. Getting in and out of the car is combersome- super heavy doors. Acceleration could be better-although this car is classified as a "sports car" I doubt you will be winning any races in the Sebring. Recall on the door panel moldings came way too late- since the car sits so low, and the doors are excessively heavy they often scrape the curb, literally pulling the molding from the car door. This is entirely due to poor design. Low profile tires are VERY expensive $225 ea. Lazy transmission. Resale value dramatically plumets on the LXi...I hear the convertibles due much better. The Chrysler dealerships I have visited are often rude and or disorganized, specifically the Van Nuys, CA Chrysler/Dodge was a particularly horrible experience. Although the mechanics were cool- the management was scary. Where does Chrysler train these managers?

Super fun and flashy. Mechanical problems and recall headaches an unfortunate inevitablity. Dealers are awful, from the buying experience all the way to service dept, etc. If you get an extended warranty- get an independent provider- you don't want to be stuck having to go to Chrysler. After a year or two you get over it and are tired of all the extras in maintanence. Expect to want to get rid of this car after a few years. Its really fun and flashy at first, but after a while you'll probably agree that this isn't a keeper.

Toyota Solara: Better rep than Chrysler, probably a better car and definately more dependable; better resale. Honda Accord (Two Door) dito to Toyota.

Strength:

Great looks & great fuel economy (30+ mpg on highway and 22+ intown)
Top works so easily and the windows automatically lower. Lots of leg room in the front and rear with no bulge in the passenger's floor. Great sound system and radio. Extremely large trunk for a convertible. Pulls my small utility trailer without complaint. Only problem to date (18 months of ownership) has been an electric mirror that stopped working. Dealer fixed in 5 minutes at NO COST !!

Weakness:

ABS brakes seem weak on dry pavement but work fine on ice and snow.

A great car for us. Not too fast or too troublesome. Hope the troublesome brakes everyone complains about are related to "sportscar driver syndrome" and their need for speed. This is not a sportscar and should not be driven as one!! Both my wife and myself enjoy the car greatly and would definately buy another.

Its a convertible

Weakness:

Everything, I dont know where to start, this is the worst car ever. The ride feels like a wooden carriage from Oregan Trail. The wheels are also known to fall off, huge safety hazard. The front grill cracked at 20000 miles and the hubcaps are worthless.

Do yourself a favor and don't buy this car. You might as well take 17000 dollars put it in a paper sack and set it on fire!
