Strength:

It looks great, that's why I bought it in the first place. Handles fine, and I don't think it's lacking in power. I have the Mitsu V-6 engine and it's fine, not a rocketship, but OK.

Weakness:

WARPING ROTORS!! I'm at 59,000 miles and ready for SET NUMBER FOUR OF ROTORS! The dealership said "It's very common with the Sebrings" DUH, then re-call it already. You call always tell it the rotors when the car begins to PULSE to a stop, instead of stopping smoothly. And, it's cause i beat on the car....i do not! They just are junk rotors and warp constantly. Other than this, the rear defog switch went and the visor and door clips (both plastic) broke. Also, the battery went dead way too soon.
Front end is VERY low and got scraped up pretty badly early on.

I got RAPED at my dealership in GREENBROOK, NJ (die Licarrdi, die!!)and paid way too much for this car like 22,000 dollars. Mind you, this was for the LX, not the LXI and no CD or leather, or moon roof. Other than the rotor problems, I do enjoy this car. I 've taken good care of it and hope it will last a few more years. After reading the other reviews I guess I feel pretty lucky!!

Strength:

It is a beautiful car in the summer time. I just floats on air on the coast and you look good in it.

Weakness:

Ive had problems with it form the first day i bought it. I bought it to commute 200 miles a day in. Ive had it for 4 months and have put 19,500 miles on it. You wouldnt believe the problems ive had with it. The brakes sqweaked right out of the dealership. It leaks between the roof and the windows. Road noise is atroshious!! It whistels between the passenger side windows. Weather sealing shrunk. It has been in the dealership for service so many times in the last month that it is rediculous. With so many people having the same problems, i can imagine why thay dont do a recall. Im going to turn it in on the Lemon Policy.

We are leasing this car and in the end will end up paying close to $45,000 for it. For $45,000 i would have gotten a Lexus!!! I got screwed. Please look at what you are buying closely and dont impulse buy. You will suffer like i am.

Model Reviewed: Sebring Convertible JXi

Strength:

I love how its so simple and fast to drop the top. Its a beautiful car, andI love the styling. I have no problem with passing 1 or 2 cars at once. I floor it then shift it into 3rd, and it takes off. The stereo is great for stock, no problems with tape player. CD player had never skipped. I have a total love/hate relationship with my Sebring Convertible.

Weakness:

Now here is the the hate relationship side. About 2 months after I bought this car, whenever it rained, the part where the convertible top meets the window, it leaked. Sometimes severely. I brought this to the dealer 3 times and they called the "Water Doctor" to fix it. It didnt work. I brought it somewhere else, and it was finally fixed. I have had numerous problems with the car starting and stalling. It is an automatic. Sometimes it just wont start, it just keeps turning over, and I need a jump to get it going. One day, driving down the Matt Pike at about 70 mph with the AC on, It stalled. Totally dead. No power steering, brakes, anything. That was NOT fun to get that off the road, and safely. I was ok, and after about 10-15 minutes it started up again without assistance. I brought the car to another dealership to fix that problem, and it was fixed.... for about 8 months. I had had constant problems with brakes... Like, rotors and brake pads needing to be replaced in 12000 miles. And just little things always going wrong. Transmission leaks, coolant leaks, oil leaks. When I turn the volume up, it goes down, when I put it down, it goes up. It has a mind of its own. At this very moment, I hate my car. I just spent $600 for a transmission leak, and to fix the knob for the blower, and a 2 diagnostics. Lucky for me, nothing was covered under my $3000 extended warr. So, soon to be aloha to the sebringer.

I paid $20,000 for the car and an extended warr. I really love my car, it was the car that I bought by myself, got the loan by myself, and I was 5 months out of high school. I LOVE this car, and it honestly breaks my heart to have to sell it. It's more than just a car to me. It stands for a lot of things. I'm going to cry like a little biznatch when its gone. No more crusin' in style with the top down, droppin it in the middle of traffic.... *sniffle* This is not a car for young people what want to race along side of mustangs, its NOT a sports car. It is a classic car, not really tunes for a younger crowd. To all you folk who have a sebring convertible now that is just perfect, know that I am insanly jelous, but in a good way!! :)
I do want you to know that this was the first model year with the convt., so I know that there are going to be "bugs" in it. So, take in what I have said, and buy a 1998, the best model year, according to Consumer Digest.

I had an '89 Dodge Dynasty for my first car. I had the usual problems with a car that had 120,000 miles on it. Brakes, transmission leaks. Nothing overly major. My second car, the almighty sebring made the dynasty look like a Jag.

I bought this car 5 yrs old with 60k miles

I guess this car was not for me- I only had it for 2 and a half months before totaling it in an accident. Going about 35 mph, I t-boned someone going through an intersection. I was not wearing my seatbelt but luckily the airbags saved me from going right through the windshield. I walked away from the accident with one small burn on my arm-that's it.

During the 2 months that I had it, I didn't have any mechanical problems with it. I'm 18 and this was my second car so I don't really have anything to compare it to, but I loved it. It drove really smooth, had good acceleration, and a pretty good factory sound system. It was 2 tone- black on top and grey on the bottom. With the 16" factory rims and mirror tint, everywhere I went people stopped to check the car out. Everyone always commented on how beautiful the car is.

I guess I got lucky because everyone else gives this car bad reviews- maybe I just didn't have it long enough for it to break down. I only had one major problem- sometimes while driving, the car would get stuck in 2nd gear and would not shift up, so while moving, I had to shift into neutral to reset the computer. This always fixed it though.

After reading about these cars, I won't buy another one, unless it was brand new. I'm looking at either a used lexus sc, acura cl, infiniti j30, or mazda millenia

Model Reviewed: Sebring LXI

Strength:

The car is roomy and I love the comfortable seats.

Weakness:

My engine and anti-lock brake lights appear on and off all the time. I had it checked out and they said it's the wiring. I have three small cracks in my dash that are results of hitting bumps. The car sounds like it's falling apart on a bumpy road. My drivers seat needed new leather after one year, even though I cleaned and lotioned it regularly. I just hit 20K and I think that I shouldn't encounter these problems so soon.

Despite it's list of problems, I think it's an overall good car to own. I would recomend it to others.

Strength:

This is my sister's car. She has no computer so I'm starting a thread for her.

Weakness:

Windshield moves ALOT when you hit a bump. My sister has gone through dealership run around. Mechanics say off the record that they expect the windshield to crack or support pillars to break and windshield collapse. A/C VERY underpowered.

A very overpriced, under-powered, under-engineered car.

Strength:

The car has a very classy look. Sporty, yet elegant. I love the sound system...very nice for factory installed. Nice large trunk, and the 17 inch low profile tires gives the car a rugged look.

Weakness:

Very weak engine...cheap leather, everything rattles, cheap brakes...cheap rims (i have 4 bent rims and have no idea how i got them...)molding breaks easy....bad turning radius....

i paid 22k for my sebring...i thought i was getting a deal....22 with tax title and out the door....but now I know i got screwed. I would recomend it....for someone who wants an ok car for decent price, but if you want an exeptional car...the only think i recomend is german, italian, or japanese....

Strength:

Wow! Alter reading the other reviews, I must be driving a BMW in disguise! My Siebring has been a terrific car. I have 60,000+ on it with absolutly no problems. I have subs in the trunk, Not a single rattle, even at high volume. The car responds well, is incredibly confortable and has every luxury gadget you can put on a car. I love it! One major point: I am a fanatic when it comes to routine servicing (oil, brakes, tire rotation, etc.).

Weakness:

The criticism re: marginal power is valid. If you want to blast around, this is not your car. But since I almost lost my license driving my lasst "sports car", I think it's a blessing.

I thnk it's an Ok value. Very Pretty & gets LOTS of attention eevery day I drive it. I plan to buy another Siebring when this one is finished (Which I plan to be a couple of hundred thousand miles).

well i dont know if i would call this a sports car. i didnt really like it too much. i like to drive cars to thier limit and this car wasnt exciting when it comes to performance, its all cosmetics when you get into the guts of the car, its not really all that greeat. i drove it to atlantic city and back, the ride is comfortable like i said its a nice car to drive on sunny days with the top down.

Strength:

Overall a nice looking, effiecent sporty car. Acceleration is pretty good, but not worthy of sports car status. Fuel economy is not bad at all, and even with a convertable top it has plenty of trunk space.

Weakness:

The styling turns bland fast, both inside and out. Controls have a stale feel to them, and wind noise it a bit much.

10k about three years ago, high miles but not high maintenance. Shines up nice, and sounds good even after 120k miles.

Still better than it's predasessor the LeBaron, but not any faster.
