Strength:
Personally the only strengths that it has are the stupid people out there who still spend money on Chrysler prodects. I WILL NEVER BUY ANOTHER CHRYSLER PROCDUCT!!
Weakness:
Everything I bought the car in October of ''99'' and the sticker price was only $13,999.00. After taxes, the extended Warranty and other minor stuff, I paid $17,777.00. To make a short story, the dealer told me that I was practically raping them of the car with it being so cheap and with me thinking that I was lucky to be getting a fully loaded car with power everything and leather seats for the price that I had paid for it I thought I had it made. But then after purchasing it I realized why it was so cheap because the car had so many probloms with it then I went to have the breaks done on it and they told me that my ball joints were bad and within a week of taking my car in I got a notice from Chrysler saying that I needed to get my car in to have the ball joints replaced because of the recall on them. I just dished out a little over four hundred dollars for everything else and because I have a wife and kid to take care of and bills by the time I got around to taking the car in The damn thing caught on fire, we contacted chrysler and they had a specialist come out and llok at it and we were contacted by letter two weeks later stating that it wasen''t the manufactures fault and that Chrysler was not going to absorb any of the costs so my wife contacted the attorney general and wrote chrysler back threatening a lawsuit. I hope that anyone out there is as pissed as I am about chrysler products will take advantage of this statement and use it in court if necessary. Strength:
The look. Low profile tires.
Weakness:
(1) Had radio replaced 4 times. (2) Tires are ridculously expensive no matter what brand. (3) Top wears real quick. (4) Head gasket replaced a number of times. (5) Brakes suck like no other. (6) when I woudl turn corners, something in the steering woudl make a horrible noise. when looked at, nothing wrong. (7) Customer Service POOR. Overall, it is an ok car. I bought it used in 1998, with 17,000 miles on it. There was one owner before me, and she worked for Chrysler and it was her "summer" car. I j ust got rid of it, and am very glad that I did. It was starting to do have the typical Chrysler product problems that a lot of people seem to have. So, I figured, it was time to dispose of. Unfortunately, I still had money left on it, and had to dispose of in the proper manner by selling rather than torching it. When I sold it, it only acquired 44,447 miles on it. Strength:
It''s really a nice looking car
Weakness:
See the above. Fell in love with the commercial..it really is a good looking car. Went to the dealership and got the top of the line and every option, really should have been more frugal looking back, the lease payment is $426/mo. Now with a baby, need a 4 door car, can''t get a break on the lease if I go with the Jeep. Besides the personal inconvenience of the 2 doors, I wanted to get rid of the car even before the baby though. THE BRAKES!!!! UNBELIEVABLE. I have spent at least $1100. in two years. What''s the deal?? Also the horn stops working every now and again, which is sooo dangerous. When I first got the car, it was in the shop, under warranty thank god, for transmission leaks and bad fuses and connections. Lately now sometimes,i put the key in and it takes awhile to get the key to turn. The gas gauge is broken and I''ve run out of gas twice !!! Lastly, there is always a leak in driver window when it rains, and the convertible top is constantly being serviced to close better so it doesn''t RATTLE all the time .. Similar Products Used: None |

GOOD PICK UP.
Weakness:
BREAKS ARE CONSTANTLY SQUEKING. THERE IS A WHISTLING NOISE ON THE PASSENGER SIDE WINDOW. TRANSMISSION WENT UP SUDDENLY NEEDS TO BE REBUILD. I'VE ONLY HAD THE CAR FOR THREE MONTHS. MECHANICS SAY THAT A PART FAILED WHICH IS NORMAL FOR CHRYSLER. NOT GOOD ON GAS. LOW FRONT CAN OFTEN BE SCRATCHED.VERY DISSATISFIED. I WILL NEVER BUY A CHRYSLER AGAIN. NEVER. NOW EVERYONE IS TELLING ME HOW BAD CHRYSLERS ARE AND THAT THE TRANMISSIONS ALWAYS HAVE PROBLEMS. CAR LOOKS NICE. HAD A NICE SOUND SYSTEM. SPORTY BUT ROOMY. ALSO LOVED THE TWO TONED COLOR Similar Products Used: TOYOTA CAMRY-THE CHRYSLER ISN'T EVEN IN THE SAME LEAGUE AS THIS CAR AND I HAD A LATER MODEL CAMRY. Looks Nice
Weakness:
The Chrysler Corporation 1998 Chyrsler Sebring LXI coupe. This car is the biggest piece of junk. Since my wife got the car new, she has had nothing but problems. The passenger side door panel fell off about 3 or 4 times. The turn signals were replaced, the distributer cap was replaced, the computer was reprogrammed, the ball joints were recalled, the door seals leak, the clear coat is chipping, the rims were corroding and replaced and are now corroding again and last but not least the brakes were replaced and rouders turned at 30,000 miles and then had to be turned again at 33000. This car has been in the shop for a month and a half of the past two months. The next issue is the service department of every dealership. Their five star dealerships must be out of a possible 100 stars. We have contacted the Chyrsler Corp and they basicly told us that they could care less. We will never buy another Sebring much less another chrysler. |

Sebring JXI Convertable
Strength:
A nice low-cost (comparable) convertable, very attractive, good seating room and trunkspace. Very smooth riding and easy to drive. Although it's not a "fast" or "powerful" sports car, the 6-cyl gives it plenty of power for highway driving.
Weakness:
Visibility is a little poor with the top up and the cabin noise is a touch high - but that's what I'd expect with a convertable. There is a little break squeal from time to time until the car warms up, but that goes away fast. I've always wanted a convertable - so I'm still a kid at heart, sue me! Being a pretty big guy, most every convertable (with the notable exception of a Lebaron convertable) is simply too small for me, either with the seats not being quite wide enough to be comfortable or with the leg room cramping me up. The Sebring, however, is a solid feeling convertable that is comfortable for me to drive. Although I've not had the car very long, I am greatly enjoying it. Even though it's not exactly a new model, the car gets looks on the road. Similar Products Used: Lebaron Convertable: I like the Sebring better, though it doesn't have quite the room the Lebaron does - and the Lebaron's are older. Mustang Convertable: The Mustang has a performance edge, o'course - but the Sebring is MUCH more comfortable, gives a better ride and has a better look (IMHO). |

Strength:
Rag top,looks great driver,good mpg,great price(none of your business),
Weakness:
I wouild like to try the 2001 with the 200 hp engine but not for the extra money. I'll probably find one in a few years like i did this one and jump on it. We rented a Sebring Convertible in CA last year and loved it. We've been looking and found this '96, and bought it from a retired army veteran this week. We had our Grand Prix loaded for a trip to Jacksonville, bought this car , put our stuff in the Sebring, and headed 400 miles south@ 24 mph and 80 mph. We are now ready to leave Jax and head to a 4th party 350 mis, north. We left the car parked for 48 hours on clean concrete and it eas bone-dry. Absolutely no leaks. Engine temp is great. The 168 HP v-6 has adequate acceleration and we are very happy despite some of the reviews I have read.No brake problems; I think they have just been replaced. The car has very cold A/C, and it has been well-tested in Jax. Similar Products Used: Not as fast as my '71 GTO convertible, but styling is comparable for the period. I doubt the Sebring will ever hit the 135-140 mph mark of the old goat but it is quite sufficient. It rides much better than my old CJ Jeeps, and I have a new 4X4 Chevy truck for off-road. |
