Don''t really know of any strengths except you are strongly STUCK with the Cirrus cause they won''t take it back.

Lights, dim and don''t light up road right; transmission; air conditioner; leaking gas tanks.....and the dealer says "You are filling the tank too full!!!!", even though stopped fueling after automatic gas cutoff clicked at the pump.

Wanted to have a safe,relaible car for my wife after he having a Hyundai,which we traded in for a New 1999 Chrysler Cirrus....BIG MISTAKE! Though its a good looking car, would not recommend it to my worst enemy. At 5000 miles, loud road noises began, at 12000 miles the air conditioner compressor goes Bad, at about 13K the gas tank starts pouring gas out from underneath,after warranty repair gas starts leaking again. Today at 14322 miles the transmission won''t shift and the Lemon is on the way to the "Five Star Dealer" who can''t effect a decent repair correctly or replace all the parts that they took off to start repairs. What a piece of CRAP!

20,000 Miles. only problems so far was the brake pads and that wasn''t really Chrysler''s fault, as I had the pads changed by a place.

Not much get-up-and-go to the engine. Blindspot when backing up on an incline.

Overall a quality car. Have had very few problems with this car. Brakes lasted until 68,000 around the same time we replaced the tires. We currently have 97,000 miles on it. The emissions leak detection pump just quit and repair cost is a bit over $200.00. Conduct oil change every 3,000.

Brake fires. yeh that''s right fire. In the rear drums and total destruction of the pads and bad sensors. Keep your warrenty paperwork and keep your AAA membership up.

If you purchase this car from a dealer as a "program car" as I did you dhould be fine. In addition, really look at the purchase of extended warrenty. there were things that would go wrong that baffled me. Like the gas gage sensor...It''s absolute worst thing is the brakes. If it wasn''t for warrenty, I''d be a wreck!

Not well built!!!!

Its a good looking car, but Chrysler should be embarrased to put this car on the market. The car sucks. When I first bought the car everything was fine, I even drove it across the country from San Diego to Louisville, KY and had no problems. A few months later the problems started to happen. The doors stick and squeak. The trim around the windows is coming off. The brakes heat up way to fast which ruins the rotors which need to be replaced. The shocks are almost shot. The rear brake line broke and leaked all of the brake fluid out. This is the car that I transport my son in luckily I noticed the brake leak before anything could have happened. The list of problems just keep going. I am going to get rid of this and purchase an Accord. I will never buy another Chrysler again. Car manufacturers need to stop cutting corner s and start putting out some quality products. Espeacially these American made vehicles. They suck!! I was going to buy a GMC Sierra 4X4 but now that I have read some reviews the truck is more of a liability than something you can enjoy!! Now I am looking at the Tundra now instead. Japanese made vehicles have most of the high ratings in most classes of vehicles. Whats going on here America??

Smooth riding, nice features for price ie. keyless entry, power seats, car alarm. Alot of room inside for size of car.

Poor headroom, no armrest for LX models (but has keyless entry....why not spend 60 bucks more and stick an armrest in?) Spring shutting trunk can be pretty dangerous if u don''t open it all the way.

My 96 Chrysler Cirrus LX with 20000 miles on it is my first car and I like it alot. It runs very well and has a nice big interior which can fit alot of people. The seats are overall comfortable except for the fact that in the front seat there is NO CENTER ARMREST! I''m sorry but why not have one? you never know how much you use one till ya don''t have it! It''s a great looking car, however, and does have the ability to accelerate very quickly. Oh yeah...the L fell off so now i have a Chryser!

Do not buy this car..unless you want to look at it through the windows of the repair shop! I had the car less than 1 week when the problems started! You name it- brakes, A/C, seatbelt, squeaky doors....they have now replaced the evaparator in my A/C system 2 times with less than 11,000 miles! The first time was less that 50! This car is a lemon. DO NOT buy it unless you have a lot of time and money to spend!
