Strength:

looks, cargo, when back bench and or bucket seats are out. Quiet when on highway, smooth ride

Weakness:

tranny, tranny, tranny i had a v8 82olds with over 200k km never replaced tranny. Lack of cargo area when all seats are in. Starter(on 3rd) Paint To easy to break into almost stolen once by jamming something under p/side door handle didn''t see til i waxed it. Brakes

i bought this van brand new after quite an interesting sales negotiation. I thought this van might be a lemon when i had such a bad start. I can honestly say that i have enjoyed it since i got it. That is not to say i haven''t had my share of troubles. First of all the oil pump went after about 2 months (under warranty) After about 8 months and a terrible vibration i was told the front brakes and rotors were shot, since then i have learned that this van does go through a lot of brakes. One of the liftgate pistons broke and went through the inside roof as the gate came down and almost hit my wife. Broke again after 2 more years(both times chrysler paid) On my 3rd tranny (i''ve paid for one 2200) Have dark blue paint which is peeling off engine hood and roof. Back liftgate is rusting(norm). Overall i am happy with the van. It has never let me down in ride or amount of cargo i can put in it. Just wish they could find a better tranny for it. One that could last more than70000 km.

Strength:

Beautiful car, handles well, great sound system, responsive engine, lots of luxury items.

Weakness:

Poor cupholder location, poor location of heater/ac controls. Mechanical/design issues as indicated in review.

This vehicle proves that sometimes beauty is only skin deep. Like a BIC lighter, it''s good for awhile, but it''s designed to be thrown away long before its looks are gone. When the A/C compressor failed (after only 3 seasons) it locked up hard. I was out in the middle of nowhere and discovered that the A/C belt also drove the alternator, so I couldn''t just cut the belt and drive back to civilization. Don''t drive this car out into the boonies or you may suffer like I did on that occasion. When they assembled the car they ran the power steering hose too close to the power steering belt. The belt rubbed the hose for a year or so and then wore a hole through it. Poor power steering performance because of a slipping belt resulted from that. The dealer refused to warantee the item. The car had approx. 40,000 miles by then. After about 4 years the car developed an annoying habit of just not starting. It would crank but not start. Then suddenly, with no evident reason, it would start just fine. It had a penchant for choosing the worst possible times to behave this way. I took it to the dealer, who kept it for 1 1/2 weeks and never could get it to fail, so they couldn''t fix the problem. I had to pay them $150 in "diagnostic charges" for this, and of course the car was no better when I got it. I was not happy. The car continued to do this until I traded it. One time it took 2 days before it decided it wanted to start again. For the first several years I wondered why the designers put the heater/ac controls at the very bottom of the panel and then didn''t provide any lighting for them. Eventually I discovered that there was evidently a loose wire down there that caused the panel not to light up unless you gave it a pretty good whack with the palm of your hand. The left front brake caliper mount wasn''t quite wide enough to accomodate the caliper I guess. That brake caliper ate up pads like candy, going through them about once every 25K miles. In 114k miles I never had to replace the rear pads although I replaced the fronts 4 times. There were other issues. These probably annoyed more than any others. Thanks for the opportunity to vent and share these experiences. I''d recommend looking elsewhere if you want a long term car, but it''s great if you don''t mind trading after a couple of years.

It is a nice looking car

Weakness:

brakes,transmission,paint

I am extremely disappointed in chrysler and its products. Since I have bought this car I have had nothing but trouble. The ABS light stays on. I have taken it in to the Chrysler shop and they put it on their computers and have no idea what is wrong with it. I am driving down the road and the light goes off. Thank god I didn''t have my son in the car who is 5, for when I went to apply the brakes there weren''t any. I have also had to put in 2 transmissions since purchasing the car. One at 50,000 miles and the other at 93,000 miles and under 3 years. I have had my fair share of vehichles and not one of them went through transmissions like this. I think that it is utterly rediculous for chrysler to know that this is going on and for them not to stand by their products. I know that I will no longer own a Chrysler nor will anyone else in my family after all they have seen me go through with this car. The paint on my car is also peeling off and has been since 97. So I guess the tranny is only good for about 45,000 miles and the paint only good for about 2 years. I sincerely hope that anyone thinking about buying a Chrysler has alot of money for repairs.

Strength:

Good handling, nice design, good mileage, fairly comfortable on long trips nice features.

Weakness:

Mechanical - all other cars from Chrysler have gone over 90,000 without any major problems except the one I needed to last. Oil light came on several months ago dealer said no problem was ok. Today I went to dealer and they replaced sending unit - said it was leaking, then they came back and said no that was not the problem it was the oil pump - so need to have that replaced also but none in stock Also found that all the belts were bad etc - bill $1795 dollars I can ill afford. Now I feel I will need to trade because of engine life.

Thought it would be a good car -Very disappointed in Chrysler - they let me down. My last five cars have been Chrysler/Plymouth/Dodge products. I am at retirement age and bought this one to last me thru my final years. Guess not!! Just set back at least 4 years. Starting at about 40,000 miles have had problems -

whole car is a weakness. I can''t even rate this heap.

Nothing but problems with this car. A/C froze up, transmission went out, had the car to the dealer 12 times to have a stalling problem fixed. They tried to fix everything but the stalling. What a joke. The car still stalls when A/C is running. Hunk of junk. I will never buy another Chyrsler as long as I live.

Weakness:

Everything about the car!!

Seems like a general consensus that this car SUCKS!! It took me 1 1/2 years for Chrysler to replace the radio because I could only get two stations. I have had it to the dealer for transmission and oil leaks 23 times. This car only has 47,500 miles on it. And every time the dealership gets my car, they have it for a week. It took a week to replace the oil pump that exploded 40 miles from my home last week. They refused to tow the car to their dealership, even though I just picked the car up from them two weeks ago for a value cover gasket leak and 4 transmission leaks. Had to spend $120 for towing which they will not reimburse. Tried to use the lemon law to get the car replaced with no luck. We are selling it this week to some unlucky person and we are buying a Chevy Venture minivan. Thank God for Chevy!! (We have had five with no problems) Good luck to all of the poor souls who have this car - I hope you get rid of it soon!!!

As usual for a Chrysler the styling is great. Good value for money also.

Weakness:

Breaks are a bit squeaky when wet.

Great looking car. Nice and roomy with good acceleration. Only ever owned one Japanese car and it was really bad for Oil leaks and general reliability. If you service a car regularly you should get good performane out of it (my prev car a Sundance was a great car). The Colt I owned was bad from day one.

Strength:

Big car ride, smooth zesty engine, lots of room.

Weakness:

Cup holders in a poor spot.

I took almost every small car for a test drive before buying my Cirrus. For the same $$ as the compettion or less I think this car is great. I''m an auto mechanic by trade and I''m very picky when it comes to buying a car. we bought this car for my wife to be the principal driver of, but I like it so much I drive it the most. The fuel mileage could be alittle better but I also have a lead foot.(29-35MPG)(can.) The only thing after 23,000 km is the brakes are noisy for the first application when cold.
