Everything... Im not joking it drives like a tank. Takes a sharp turn and laughs. Its so massive powerful and... just one word to describe it "AMAZING"
Weakness:
ummmmmmmmmmmmmmmm..... back seat entry. I dunt have to worry about that since im driving haha let the passengers deal with it. You guys should put the reviews into catagories because the 2002 monte carlo is inposible to compair to the old ones. Not only is it a nascar champion but its so comfortable and stylish. I got the SS and oh man. You should see the heads turn and the ladies stair. Im in the process of souping it up and hopefully adding nitro... Lets see how it races against those sissy civics. I love this car Similar Products Used: Pontiac Firebird |

Strength:
Brakes-stop on a dime with 9 cents change.Good road trip car. Comfortable and rear seats go down for space. Good mileage also. 20 in town and 32 on road.
Weakness:
Rear seat entry and egress. I''''m not your average Joe so my review won''''t be like most. I am upset because I was offered no fuel option on this car. My last vehicle ran on propane. Dealer rooked me on it also. It is a nice car though. I get a lot of comments. Torch Red color. I keep it like new. Over 20k mileage. Not much trouble with it. I keep synthetic oil in it as well. |

THE CAR HANDLES GOOD WHEN IT RUNS IT IS VERY SHARP AND HAS A GOOD SOUND SYSTEM
Weakness:
REPAIRS REPAIRS REPAIRS AND THEY GO IN THREES THE SAME THREES THE ENGINE IS VERY CRAMED AND COMPACT EVERYTHING COST AN ARM AND A LEG TO GET WORKED ON AND TAKE A LONG TIME THE PARTS ARE CHEAPER BUT ALOT OF THE LABOR MAY COST 300-400 AND I SHOP AROUND FIRST ENGINE LIGHT IS ALWAYS ON ......... I REALLY THINK YOU SHOULD GET THE LS THE ENGINE IS MUCH MORE MECHANIC FREINDLY i bought my car on Aug 31 1996 i thad 11 miles on it. At 845 miles just 1 1/2 months in to it my brake light came on and star had my car for 3 days until they finally found out that the cover over the sensor was never placed on it. then about 1 year later my engine light came on continously in the past 5 1/2 years it came on probably over 50 times. Mostly misfire codes but had MANY MAJOR PROBLEMS..... at 24,000 miles I had to replace the ALTERNATOR for the first time then the spark plug wires for the first time at 29,000 miles and at 31,000 miles the first ari pump. then at 45,000 mile I ahd to replace the TRANSMISSION ,...... and at abou 46,500 miles my ALTERNATOR WAS REPLACED FOR THE 2 TIME 47,000 MILES my AIR PUMP replaced for the 2 time 50,000 miles the SPARK PLUGS were replaced for the 2 time and numerous times the engine light came on ........ then at 67,000 miles the spark plug wires were replaced for the 3 time just 2 weeks later the AIR PUMP was replaced again and then the ALTERNATOR went at about 69,000 miles i HIGHLY RECCOMMEND THAT YOU CONSIDER ANOTHER DEALER AND ANOTHER MODEL THIS CAR COST ME OVER $3000.00 IN THE PAST 2 YEARS KEEP ALL RECIEPTS WHEN YOU GET ANYTHING REPAIRED BECAUSE I CAN TELL YOU THEY WILL HAVE SOME RECALLS AND YOU ARE ENTITLED TO YOUR MONEY BACK BECAUSE THIS CAR COST BIG BUCKS FOR LABOR THE ALTERNATOR ALONE COSTS 300-400 TO HAVE PUT IN AND MOST GARAGES WILL LAUGH BECAUSE THE 3.4 V6 ENGINE IN ONE OF THE HARDEST TO WORK ON EVERYTHING IS SO COMPACT THE SPARK PLUGS AND BACK AND UNDERNEATH THE ENGINE SO THAT COST ME OVER 100 LABOR AND EACH TIME THE WIRES ALONE COST 140 FOR THE PARTS BUT THE 3.1 V6 ENGINE WHICH IS IN THE LS ONLY COST 42 AND LIKE 20 TO REPLACE SO THE REPAIRS ARE VERY HIGH ON THIS CAR IF YOU BUY A MONTE CARLO DO YOUR SELF A BIG FAVOR AND GET THE LS TRUST ME AND AFTER PAYING 19,000 BRAND NEW I AM LUCKY IF I WILL GET 5000 BECAUSE THE CAR NOW HAS ANOTHER AIP PUMP CODE AND THEY SAY MAY COST UP TO 1000 TO FIX THE JUST PUT THE PUMP IN 1 MONTH AGO NOW THERE IS AN ELECTRICAL PROBLEM Similar Products Used: NONE |

Smooth at any speed. Lots of room. Great factory stereo system.
Weakness:
Killer blind spots and would be faster if it was a 5 speed. I bought my 1997 Monte Carlo after my 1993 Cavalier died. I knew I wanted this car before I even drove it off the lot for the test drive. It handles great for a car it''s size. Excellent acceleration and speed. And it looks great. Similar Products Used: Malibu & Grand AM. |

Nickle and dimes me to death. MANY SMALL problems listed in summary. But it still goes down the road and has never left me sitting I wish I''d have gotten one of the good ones. I''ve never had a car as bad as this one!!! Where do I begin?? A week after I bought it it blew and intake gasket....luckly under warranty. Fiore Buick SUCKS they wouldn''t take the car back only five days after purchase. Over the past two years several things have went wrong....I''ll try to make it short. Turn signal don''t work, cruise control don''t work, 3.1 liter engine has NO power, exhaust leak near motor some where (can''t find BUT CAN HERE!!!)CD player don''t work and last but not least it has a noise coming from the right front CV joint area is the loudest at about 40mph and stops when you turn right but starts again when you turn back to straight or left. If any one knows what this is please email me at Wpstranger@yahoo.com . Overall I think this car really sucks!!! 3.4L are a pain in th ass to work on, If you don''t have a freind that is a mechanic don''t get one, unless you have money to spend. I bought this car not to long ago for a good price at only having 53,000 miles! It has it all from the sporty ground effects to the leather! NO moon roof though. This car is great, I had to get a new fuel pump which cost around 300- and I will need new boots and wires soon. Similar Products Used: None |

Starts hard sometimes. NO 5-Speed! I bought this car a little more than a year ago and love it. Like another review, it is fun to blow the tricked out Civics and other rice burners off. I also outran a brand new 3.2 CL in a drag race. I love having a car that is so smooth at 100 mph...wait, I don''t drive that fast... Basically this car is almost perfect for any American driver, plus the trunk is ENORMOUS. It is awesome. The sound system is awesome for a stock system. Nelly in the CD can still turn heads from people who have done work on their rides. I wish more than anything that it had a 5-speed, it''d be so much faster. One of my best friends has a 96 Mustang GT convertible which feels like I could take if only I have a 5-speed. Back seat is a little small, but at 20 years old, I don''t need a big one. The speed, it''s turning and although stock brakes aren''t good, my friend got the brakes redone so it stops on a dime.
Weakness:
The alternator and the transmission I love my Monte Carlo. I got it 5 months ago and have driven it everyday. I havent had a problem with it except I had to replace the alternator. It rides well and has a great pick up on it. It''s fast for the size and turns well. Similar Products Used: I have only driven an ''84 RX-7, and an ''89 Lincoln Mark VII |
