Strength:
Great looking car, very roomy, great interior, low maintence and it's a Chevrolet
Weakness:
Door mounted front seat belts, squeaky dics brakes-had done twice, needs shoulder strap of some sort in the middle of the rear seat. Great Engine and has allot of get up and go. This car runs great and looks very sleek. Haven't had allot of problems with this car. Euro Sport is one of the Best Models made by Chevrolet. Similar Products Used: It's better than a ford |

Chevrolet Lumina 3.1 Sudan
Strength:
I like the room the Lumina offers and it's power 3.1 V6 141hp the cars hauls ass. All though the dash reads 80 it feel like i was going a 110 on the highway.
Weakness:
I wish I had a Z34 but oh well, kind of a gas eater I use plus, trasnmission kinda act up when first cranked up if you put the car in D4 nothing happens D3 nothing happens L2 that's when it finally in gear then I have to put it in D4. Accellaration kinda sucks. I was doing a 0-60 run on a straight away road and every time I get a 10.5 on a 0-60 run. Well the engine need a little work done on it and the car seems a little heavy. The only thing cost me the money is a damn fuel pump. The place where I bought my car charged me over $250 for parts and labor just to get the fuel pump replaced. I like this car it's roomy good power a little flaw on the trans but no but deal. But the bottom line this is car to get you around places. Similar Products Used: 1991 Geo Storm 5spd. A lot lighter than the Lumina very light. quicker accel. and cost less. |

The power of the engin was good at first but now has a great loss of power. the car looks good for a four door.
Weakness:
Problemes seem to appear every weekend.Passenger window stoped working.rear brakes compleatly suck, so dose the e-brake. tranfer case seames to lock up when slowing to a stop light. The car was well worth it if you don't mind geting your hands dirty. chainging the spark pluges is a compleat day job. I tried to adjust the e-brake but couldn't. the brakes will not lock up if all your force is applied, but the car dose not have ABS, also esseive pedle. the interour desine compleatly suckes but the car seames to be a good car. Chev. Lumina
Strength:
Solid, strong reliable car. Great car for highway trips. Had my share of accidents and it held up quite well. No major problems.
Weakness:
Brakes are horrible. Replaced the pads two times. Only has 33,000 miles on it. Seats had pads replaced under warranty, for those of you that have a complaint about the seats. I paid $17,000 for the car brand new. I would recommend it to anyone who wants a car with plenty of power and room. With an excellent safety rating. Lumina Euro 3.1
Strength:
Head-Rest hitting acceleration after a few simple modifications (EZ flow catalytic, 2 1/2" strait pipe - no muffler, stage II module/computer, performance intake, high perfomance struts & racing calipers and disks)= 0 to 60 in less than 7 sec, much less with octane boosters (use only when racing). I regularily walk on stock 5.0 Mustangs (which is sad considering that's SUPPOSED to be a 'sports car') at the speedway with my modified 3.1L. I've had my speedometer burried somewhere around 145-150mph top-speed, not sure cuz the numbers only read to 120 before the needle wraps around. Not bad for this very heavy sedan. Roomy and comfortable interior. Not bad to look at. Well designed, VERY reliable engine (if you keep up on regular maintenamce this car should last 250,000 mi EASYILY, I know many owners of 90-94 Euro's who's did)Mine is at 145,000mi and still looks moderatly new, no rust-and for this car driving Wisconsin's rock-salted winter roads for the past 10 years without being stored in a garage, that's an accomplishment. Front-wheel drive performs adequately in the snow depending on tires.
Weakness:
Brakes: Factory Disk Brakes are JUNK. This is the Luminas biggest downfall. Without proper care and maintenance, your lumina's all wheel disk brakes WILL go to hell and cost you over $1000 to fix (unless you do it your self, then it's $500) around the 70,000 - 100,000mi mark. I ripped mine out then week I purchased it and replaced them with all vented rotors and racing calipers. Before that stopping was a on again - off again kinda thing. With all-wheel disk brakes...USE your Emergency brake EVERY time you park to keep the back calipers set correctly (unless you replace them like me) I've Had Fords, Dodge, Honda, Buick, and even a mint '83 Cadilac, but with this performance and reliability (along with my '96 Impalla SS), I'm sold on Chevy Power forever. Strength:
The value, good gas milage for a v6, and the layout of the dash make all things easy to access
Weakness:
engine under powered for the size and weight of the car. Transmission has a known service bulletin and chevy makes no effort to help out owners of the vehicle. Great car except for the engine/transmission replacement at 110k miles. very solid frame easy to work on. I think chevy should have done something about the 3100 series engine. the cold start piston slap is a real problem. i have had no other problems with the car, but i guess the 2 main problems are the ones that had, so................... Lumina Euro 4 door
Strength:
LOVED the engine. Plenty of room for family. Nice and direct steering
Weakness:
Rear brakes locked on (emergency brake locked - fixed with some RP7) Arrived in Canada for 12 month stay from Australia with absolutely NO idea of US/Canadian local car product, but with only 2 days to get a car. Eventually settled on the Lumina Euro 4 door. May have been just luck, but this car was brilliant!!! In the 12 months we travelled 32,000 kms with pretty much just regular servicing. The engine was a dream both on the flat and climbing through the Rockies. I love the way it fired at the first turn of the key EVERY TIME, even when it had been buried in snow for days. Good fuel efficiency. Great in snow and on ice. Similar Products Used: For what its worth, similar in size to Australia Mitsubishi Magna. |

Strength:
smooth ride, accelerates (even up hills)
Weakness:
brakes (as everyone else has mentioned), driver seat is uncomfortable on long trips, occasionally makes noises that cause me to be concerned, too long and low in the front I like it pretty well - haven't had it for long, but I've managed to put 15000 miles on it without any problems. I was in a hurry to get a car, so I could have ended up with a lot worse. I kind of like the way it looks, though no one else seems to Similar Products Used: the only thing I've driven enough for a comparison is my 93 Ford Escort - they're not really in the same class, so they have different strengths and weaknesses |

Strength:
1993 Z34. The car has a lot of pick up and accelerates well. The power windows and locks are good. The car is roomy for those 6'0 feet and above. This model also has steering wheel tilt.
Weakness:
Repairs are extremely costly for this car. Additionally make sure you get your timing belt changed prior to 120,000 miles. I wouldn't suggest this car as someone's first car. The main reasons are how complex the design is under the hood. The newbie would have a hard time replacing little things such as lights. Similar Products Used: None |
