Looks, speed, and everything else you could want.Did i mention speed?

Weakness:

This being my favorite car , the weaknesses come down only to the cupholders.(too small for anything but 12 0z. drinks)

Overall this is a great car that does not have many weaknesses. The only problem that i have had with it so far has been that the alarm ws too sensitive and went off with a breath. Its a great car to own and should have higher ratings thaan deserved.

Out of 144 days of ownership, it has spent 67 in service. Lincoln has given me no satisifaction. The employee''s can only smile at you to console you but so much until it doesn''t mean anything any more. Problems: Rattle in dash Creak in lumbar Vibration in steering wheel Wind noise Gas mileage Transmission delay. Electrical problems: cruise control, starting, anti-teft. 10 day wheel alighnment? squeky (sp?) window creaky center console I wish I could dedicate my time to persuading all who are interested in this vehicle to NOT buy it. Had the car for $4k miles. Could not put any more on it because it was always in the shop. Came off of a two year lease with 24,000 miles. I can''t believe that this level of car can be like this. I''ve been in 8 different loaner cars, shuttled twice, and picked up by co-workers more than three times. 5-6 of the loaner cars were lincolns as well. One didn''t start on the first try more than once (brand new 02 Lincoln LS6). I s^&*t you not. The car had 175 miles on it when I got it. A couple of 01 Town car that ratled A LOT. One that shut off on me while driving. That one had 16k miles on it. First and las

Overall we have been pleased with our LS. We bought the V-6 with the sport package. We have only had it 4 months and so far we have had one problem. The steering wheel radio controls do not work properly. The seek makes the volume go up and the volume doesn''t do anything. Lincoln claims that the radio is sending the wrong signal and have ordered us a new radio. There is a service bulletin out on this according to Lincoln. I don''t know if it effects all radio types or only those with the built in cd changer.

Strength:

Handling, precison steering, braking, acceleration (all out)and wonderful front seats. Can drive for hours and get out refreshed not crippled! Remember this performance is with the optional packages.

Weakness:

Automatic transmission is a dog. Quality control is bad, but this was first year, maybe better now. Dealer is uniformly awful - no trouble found is the only sentence they know. Lincoln is on the right track, but seriously flawed in execution. Details: Trunk lid has old fashioned cheap large arms that crush luggage and take up limited space. Needs gas lifts here. Also one light in corner of trunk doesn''t help much. Lower edge of dash hits knees when exiting, curve the edges in. Arm rests need more padding. Rain sensing wipers need more work; by the time they decide its wet, you can''t see! No extra power outlet for phone, computer or anything. Ridiculously small ash tray. No storage room in cabin, unbelievably small center console. Get rid of the pull up parking brake for more room in center of car (this is supposed to make the car more Europeon!)Headlight switch turns off the fog lights when your knee hits it. Where are the tweeters for the radio? They should be in the A pillars, or doors, not down on the center hump. Electric antenna option? Radio reception is good with in glass antenna, it would be great with a real antenna. This optional Alpine audio system is good, but not goo

First thing you should know is that the LS is several different cars, not all of them up to snuff. The regular LS is soft, and doesn''t handle great, just OK. You need the sport suspension package and another stability option to see how good this car really is. It''s a shame that you have to option up to get what should be there to start, but this is a game of advertising a low price, that no one buys one at anyway! Best American sedan if you value handling and control. Equals a BMW or Jag at thousands less. Had forgotten how good rear wheel drive can be, with the last front wheelers I''ve had. Best bang for your buck, most fun I''ve had in years. A pleasure to drive. If Ford would fix the little things, this would be a huge seller for them. Bad word of mouth will ruin it. Start with making the dealers respond to customers. I bought a Lincoln and I''m treated like I have a Focus! That won''t do.

Weakness:

ENGINE NOISES LEFT AND RIGHT, TRANSMISSION IS FLAWED, TOO MANY PARTS ARE FALLING OFF, EXTREME EXTERIOR ROAD NOISE,SUSPENSION IS WORSE THAN MY BROTHERS 89 CHRYSLER, THE HEADLAMPS FOG UP AFTER EVERY CAR WASH, THE TRANSMISSION MAKES THIS STRANGE NOISE AT SPEEDS OVER 20 MILES PER HOUR. I HAVE VISITED MY DEALER OVER 25 TIMES SINCE I PURCHASED THE CAR.LINCOLN WILL NOT ASSIST ME IN MY CONCERNS FOR THIS VEHICLE. THEY CLAIM ITS JUST THE WAY THE CAR WAS BUILT AND THERE IS NOTHING THEY CAN DO TO HELP ME. I FORGOT ABOUT THE BRAKES MAKING THIS HORRIBLE GRINDING NOISE. I HAD TO EXCHANGE THEM FOR AFTERMARKET TO SOLVE THIS PROBLEM. OTHER THAN ALL THIS ISSUES IT STILL GETS YOU FROM POINT A TO POINT B. BUT I SURE WISH I WOULD HAVE BOUGHT THE BMW 330 OR LEXUS GS 430. WHEN MY LEASE IS UP YOU KNOW WHAT MY NEXT CAR WILL BE. IT WILL DEFINITELY NOT BE THIS CAR AGAIN. TOO BAD SINCE LINCOLN REALLY TRIED HARD TO BRING A TRUE AMERICAN PLAYER TO COMPETE WITH THE WORLD. IT STILL HAS A LOT OF CATCHING UP TO DO. IF THIS IS WHAT YOU GET FOR V8 VALUE CAR I WOULD RATHER SPEND THE EXTRA 8,000 FOR A GERMAN OR JAPANESE CAR THAT WILL LIVE UP TO ITS PROMISE.

NICE CAR, UNFORTUNATELY THE 2000 MODEL LS DOES NOT PERFORM TO MY EXPECTATIONS OF WHAT A WORLD CLASS LUXURY CAR SHOULD BE. THE 2000 MODEL IS PLAGUED WITH WAY TO MANY PROBLEMS, THAT THE DEALER SIMPLY CANNOT FIX. THIS IS UNFORTUNATE SINCE I HAVE LOST ALL FAITH IN THIS VEHICLE. I WAS TOLD THE 2001 AND BEYOND WILL NOT HAVE THAT MANY BUGS.

Model Reviewed: ls super sport limited

Strength:

beautiful styling, classic american V8 rumble, classy interior, only 200 were produced, its not an import so you feel good about helping your countries economy while still having a car made to run with the imports

Weakness:

bad gas mileage (who really cares though), slight rattle at idle from the cat backs, absolutely no modifications available due to limited production

The LS i purchased recently is by far one of the most beautiful cars i have ever seen, and everyday i drive it i find something new that i love about it. The limited production of the series (only 200 produced for the model year) makes it collectible, while the thick back ground effects makes it the most aggresive american sedan on the road. If you are interested in purchasing an LS, make the extra commitment of time and money, and find yourself a super sport.

First of all, I love the looks of this car. That's what makes it so disapointing that I have had problems. Tha latest is a loud drone at highway sppeds. I took it back to the dealer, but they told me it was tire pressure, but it still drones louder than ever. The car gets terrible gas mileage, only 20mpg on pure highway driving (it's a V6 too). I have also had problems with noises (popping and buzzing) coming from the rear speakers which the dealer can't seem to be able to fix. I just drove a friends Acura 3.2TL and it beats my Lincoln hands down.

Strength:

Handling, power with the V-8, brakes which don't fade, comfort and luxury, beautiful and efficient interior and seats.

Weakness:

Uses a little fuel, I get 22 mpg average with mixed driving. Could be better. Maybe I expect too much.

Best car I ever owned. Great power, smooth shifts with SST, great on the freeway, even greater on the twisties. Drove from Wndsor to Sea-Ranch with my wife who gets car sick. Up,down, and around for about 35 miles. The car stays so flat she never even burped. This baby can move, corner, and keep it's occupants comfortable. The seats are wonderful, the sound system excellent, the climate control perfect, and the payments are low.
Truly American Luxury.

Always had company cars, liked free Mercury Sables, but they don't compare.
Drove my brothers Corvette, insurance was high, the Lincoln handles better. My older brother has always driven BMW.s, harsh, rattleing, and expensive to maintain. Usually he takes his wives Jeep Cherokee to work. It usually runs.

Strength:

One of the best looking cars on the road, It is fun to drive and comes
with a high level of refinement. The Engine/Suspension/Steering feel great.
I have the manual transmission and enjoy it more than any other I've owned.
I find the car very comfortable, The seat will adjust to almost any postion
and, At 6'2 I am able to avoid back ache or leg strain, Unlike my 2000 Maxima I traded in on the Lincoln.

Weakness:

Have some concerns about quality and long term durability of some of the parts. The center consul is very cheap, and a body panel on the rear passenger side makes bad sounds when I put any pressure on it. Doesn't quite line up like it should. I trust Lincoln products but wonder what will need replaced in the first 5 years.
Road noise comes in through the manual gear shift, quite loud but overall the car is quiet. Occasional wierd grinding noise also. Not too concerned.

I have studied the message boards on Edmunds and others for 18 months,
and the response to this car is almost entirely positive. Biggest gripe
is lack of Manual V8 and minimal interior storage. The list of compliments
go on for pages.

2000 Maxima. Great car, but lacked aesthetics and great driving feel. I
had the manual, but it became an exercise very quickly. I enjoy the Lincolns Manual transmission much more. Won't denigrate the Maxima, but
the Lincoln has better looks and driving characteristics and I am much happier. Tried the Audi A4, Prefered the Passat. tried a Jaguar, Fell asleep during the test drive. Missed the point behind the huge price on the 3 series, econobox.
