TIRES!!!!!!!!!!!! I have had many problems with this car. The most unforgiveable one is with the tires. I have 17" Bridgstones and they have flat spots, they ride bumpy and are unacceptable. Bridgstone has said this car is too heavy for these tires. Yet Ford will do nothing with this problem. I have stopped payment on this car and have returned the car to the dealership. The dealership doesn't want "another" Lincoln LS back. If anyone else has this problem please contact me as I am planning to take legal action, after all this is a saftey issue. Strength:
Great accelaration with the V8, and a real head turner. Interior is also pretty nice, has a good sound system and alot of optins available.
Weakness:
Too many mechnaical problems. Lincoln needs to use a few more quality parts in what could a great vechile rather than just an average vechile. Looks great and drives great when its not in the shop or will actually start. I have had a re-occuring problem with mine where when the car has been driven around and warmed up and then you park it and come back to it in say 30mins to an hour the car will not start correctly. It takes 3 long cranks everytime to get the car to turn over and the engine also omits a funny odour. The dealership though has been great not their fault and they have been very hospitable, would definetly recommend them to anyone from this area. Rides like a car twice it's price. People love it's euro look. When it's not having problems it's a fun car to own and drive
Weakness:
To many mechanical problems I'm one of the first to 70,000 miles. This car has it's bugs. To list; the windows, the rattling noise under the hood, the seat plates on the rear floor, the slow responding trans, sensitve to different gas, most recently the Air Bag light is on:(. Attractive body style, great handling, fun to drive, great stereo, comfortable ride.
Weakness:
Overpriced for quality of product. Too many failures of electrical components, valve cover gaskets leaked, no storage space, poor resale/trade-in value, trunk lid hinges intrude, squeaks and rattles are bothersome. Heard great things about this car. V8 makes for great acceleration, but bells and whistles seem to be breaking all the time. Transmission whines loudly between 40 and 50 mph. Getting competent service for it is a problem. Scary to think of keeping it beyond 50K mile warranty. Similar Products Used: Acura Legend |

Fun to drive, handles great and turns the heads of the young and old.
Weakness:
Hard to enter and exit drivers seat. Car doesn't like to start after sitting for 2 days. Poor Finish. WIND NOISE!!!! The car is very attractive to look at, however I have had problems with the car from day 1. The car should have never been delivered. Paint was spotted, windshields had scratches in it. Microphone was not installed from the factory for the VCS system in the car. A car that carries a sticker for $47,000 should not have these problems. Oh the service is not great, I have taken the car in for warranty work only to receive it back with dints, and scratches and door panels damaged. I have read tons of bad reviews about the LS....Don't you think that Lincoln would try to resolve these issues. VERY POOR FIT AND FINISH.TRANS SHIFTS POORLY.(CLUNKS) THIS IS THE WORST CAR I HAVE EVER OWNED. IT HAS BEEN AT THE DEALERSHIP FOR OVER 40 DAYS IN EIGHT MONTHS.IT HAS STEERING NOISES, VIBRATES, WATER LEAKS, USES A QUART OF OIL EVERY 600 TO 700 MILES.AC VERY NOISY ON HOT DAYS(IN DASH BLOWER ETC.)DEALER NEEDS TO STICK TO SELLING KIA THE SERVICE IS VERY POOR. Good power and dash layout good
Weakness:
Back windows want go up. The car when cold as weather under 30 degrees car will not continue to run. Problems with shifting gears also when cold. Have had car at dealership no less than 10 times and still the same problems. My advice is stay away from the 2001 LS One of the worst cars i have ever owned.
