Great Power. 0 to 60 in VERY FAST for a sedan. I bought this car used in 1995 when it had 40,000 miles. It now has 110,000 mile and is running well. I have had some problems with the interior but the engine is running great.
Weakness:
Expensive to fix. My 60,000 mile tuneup was 800.00 Anytime I have had to go to the dealer it has been expensive. I have had some interior things break like the glove compartment, visors and cigarette lighters. I bought mine used as they don't seem to hold their value well. If you can find a good used one jump on it. I don't personally have 50,000.00 for one of these new. At 50,00.00 it is just so so. If you can get it for below 30,000.00 it is a great deal. Similar Products Used: I always had sports cars before. I had a Nissan 300zx in 1991. This drives as well with plenty of room for the kids. |

I wanted a luxury car at a good price and got it. Car has lots of power, good looks (don't like the frontend but can live with it) and a super interior. So far 130,000 miles, I havn't had any major problems and the way it runs, don't forsee any. Get 20+ mpg.
Weakness:
Front end looks which have been corrected. That's it I would have a hard time buying a new one because Infinity doesn't hold it's value like an Acura or Lexus. If you're not afraid of the used car market a person can get a high quality car for a great price. Similar Products Used: Never had a car this nice |

Performance
Weakness:
Reliability This car (92') was great up to about 70K. It felt sportier than my current car (BMW 740), corners just as good, acceleration is slightly quicker. But so many problem to deal with when this car ages. No where close to the reliabilty of the Lexus LS400, not as good as the Benz or the BMW either. Beautiful car with the best, smoothest, quietest ride next to the LS 400. Interior is incredibly well thought out which will grow on you over the first few months. The Ultimate luxury sports sedan! Easieast overlooked feature is the rear windows roll all the way down!!! It's so well built it will make anyone feel like a better driver.
Weakness:
Loses value quicker than Acura and Lexus. Doesn't have side airbags and dual climate control. Definitely the best bang for the buck when it comes to buying your first used luxury car. You will pay an extra $3000-$6500 for the Lexus (Toyota) or Acura (Honda) just for the name. More fun and feel than the LS 400. Infinity has always focused more on sport-luxury as opposed to luxury-sport! You or your wife will blow away Firebirds and Mustang 5.0's on your Sunday morning "dork" cruise and outhandle them too without breaking a sweat. When you drive this heavy beauty you will feel like 50 when you're actually 85+ mph, so plan on spending an extra $399 to purchase a Valentine One radar detector or else you will not afford insurance within the first year of owning this ultimate sport-luxury vehicle. roomy, comfortable, luxurious inside
Weakness:
boring ride, not great cornering or acceleration We has this car on a 3 year lease. The two cars before that we leased were BMW's. After the lease on this car was over, we went back to the BMW 540i. The BMW has better handling, acceleration, and feel at high speeds. The Infinity is not a very fun car to drive. I would recommend it as a car for a family that has a good amount of money and that isn't especially interested in sportiness, but more for luxury and looks. It does look good. Great ride! Good acceleration at any speed. Fantastic seats. I love the user definable suspension!! Handles in-between a LS400 (not as soft)and a 740il (not as hard). PRICE!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Weakness:
Trunk size. Should have dual zone A/C. The sticker price for my Q45t was apx. $50,500.00 but I paid only $42,500.00. Similar Products Used: BMW 540il. Q45t isn't as fast or agile. |

Great engine power, Nice looks, classic interior, runs very smooth.
Weakness:
Parts are too expensive, every week something new seems to go wrong with it. Had it for two months and already invested $1200 in it. Now the check engine light went on.... I need to replace 2 sensors, totaling about $1500 parts and labor. If i could only go back in time, i would have walked away from the car i fell in love with instantly. Due to only having this car for 2 months, I dont feel comfortable giving or denying a recommendation. I simply wish I had not bought it. Similar Products Used: None |

It's extremely comfortable, very quiet and has a smooth ride. I like the soft speed sensitive steering wheel, for a heavy car like this, the wheel really helps while parking. The stabilizer bars are a gem.
Weakness:
Its engine. Most of the torque is at the higher end 3500-4000 RPM.I want to get the whole 270ft-lb of torque at 2000RPM. So as a whole, there is some amount of engine noise when I start from 0. I don't like noise at all. Its very disconcerting. In the same competing model group, the Merc S430/500, Lex LS400 or the BMW 540/740 peak their engine power at the 2000ish rpm. Also, the rear axle ratio number is very high. They should bring it down to 2.3/2.4 thing. Nobody wants a 3.5+ ratio , I don't know of anyone using this car for towing ....The stereo. The base is too low, unless I reduced the base to its minimum, at high volumes, the hard rock almost feels like cracking the paper cones of the speakers. I would recommend this car to anyone as its a big bang for the buck. As everyone points out, for a similar mileage / model year car from Lexus or BMW or Merc, you would sweat out at least 8K more. Weakness:
Can be expensive on repairs, but overall a very reliable car Great car. I bought used at 44,000 miles in 96'. I now have 174,000 miles. Major repairs so far have been replacing all the fuel injectors - $2,200. Rubber fuel lines around the engine leak, and needed to be replaced. Overall, the best car I have ever bought. Infinity makes great cars. Will probably look at getting an I30 next, or another used Q45. Similar Products Used: Nothing I have driven compares |
