Weakness:
What's not to like? I have the I30 2000 luxury;list $30,700 -paid $29,000.If you ask, they will sell you the car for 4.5% above invoice. You will not be able to find a similar equiped car for the money. All possible options are included and the only two options left off of the "base" car are heated seats and traction control(which I added for $600). Similar Products Used: 1995 maxima |

I30 Limited Edition
Strength:
smooth, fast, efficient v-6 engine, Bose stereo, finish, interior space, cargo space, looks, comfort
Weakness:
none. I purchased the I30 Limited Edition for under $27,000. And it has everything except traction control and heated seats. I also have the two-tone black/titanium with a spoiler. I test drove the Lexus and was not impressed, the dealer wanted to offer the '97 Es300 for the same price! I also test drove Acura tl and immediately felt small inside. The salesman also came along and would not leave us alone; all he kept bragging about was the GPS system that I don't even want. At the infiniti dealer, the salesman let me and my wife take our time. At the moment of the first acceleration we knew we wanted to buy it. Similar Products Used: Lexus Es300, Acura TL, 2000 Maxima |

Strength:
Best quality is engine performance. Just love the power. Also killer sound system and very quiet ride.
Weakness:
None I didn't want to give up the performance of my 5-spd SE-R, but had to. Glad I found the I30. The engine performs like excellent, and I don't feel as though I'm missing anything now. Added to that more room, leather makes it a great car. Similar Products Used: Nissan Sentra SE-R. I used to love the performance of my 5-spd. Bigger and better car. |

I30
Strength:
Good look, plenty of power, good fuel mileage, quiet ride.
Weakness:
"Stiff" interior design with somewhat unexpected control placements that take some getting used to - especially in the dark. The biggest weakness for me is the front wheel drive. It is a well built car and it delivers reliable commute in nice environment with plenty of highway on-ramp merging power. I get to drive various cars when my car is in service and I30 is one of the nicer vehicles I was given to drive for 4 days but, in my opinion, it doesn't compete well with European makes. Strength:
Fun to drive, Infiniti Service, Total Ownership Experiance, Excellent value for money
Weakness:
Quite Like Maxima Me and my wife had narrowed down our choice to ES 300 and I30 based on features/specs. Our visit to Lexus dealership turned a difficult decision into a piece of cake. Lexus sales people were arrogant and rude. The attitude was "the car sells and you are just any other customer". On the other hand Infiniti dealership was very friendly. I told Infiniti sales person that I would be buying the car in next 12 months, but this did not disinterest him. During one of the service last year, the back lights had got damaged. I had failed to notice this when I picked up the car. On my next visit, I simply told the service rep to take care of my car since they had damaged the light last time. He apologized for that, and I was surprised to see later that they replaced the whole unit and did not charge me for service that time. I don't know of any other manufacturer who would do that. Strength:
Beautiful Car, Engine is one of the top 10 in the world, more standard options than competitors, rated # 1 in reliability, best warranty, and did I say it's a beutiful car.
Weakness:
Have not found any yet. I am very pleased with this car. It has more options than any of the other cars shown above. It's a fun car to drive and handles well. It is by far the roomiest of the cars listed above. While it has a few more horsepower than the Acura, the Acura is actualy a little faster. Strength:
V6 Engine, Gorgeous Look, Sporty Suspension, Bose Audio!, and Infiniti warranty + service.
Weakness:
Similar to Maxima GLE/SE, Back seat is not WIDE enough for 3, and poor trade-in value compare to same priced Audi, BMW, or Lexus. I purchased this 1998Infiniti I30t ( IT'S I30T!!!)in Sept. 1997. I fall in love with it when I first saw it. It has the look of Infiniti Q45 and a soul of 2 door coupe(if u tired the manul stick) I enjoy listening to the Bose Audio system. I love the automatic temperature control and heated front seats. When I purchased this I30t, I had no option left for me to choose!(besides dealer options.) This is a great vehicle and recommended for everyone ! I believe the 2000 I30 is even better. Similar Products Used: 1991 Nissan Stanza, 1993Geo Prizm, and 1994Opel Astra(used to live in Taiwan) |

I30t
Strength:
Good looks (from the front), stately design (interior and exterior), bundle of features
Weakness:
Quite noisy, vibrates at idle (not smooth like ANY other car), a lot of noises, local dealership service is HORRIBLE! Had a lot more problems with this car than many others...was unlucky to receive the "bad egg" for what would otherwise be a great ownership experience. Thinking of getting rid of the car if I have a GOOD chance! Worries me more than it pleases me, especially because of horrible dealer! Similar Products Used: Acura 3.2 TL, Mitsubishi Diamante. Loved the Diamante, and love my current TL more than the I30 (TL has more power, more comfortable seats, much better looks) |

Strength:
Traded in a 2000 Maxima for the 2001 Infiniti, It is visually more appealing. Good interior room, actually more than a 94 Q45.
Weakness:
Very noisy, a lot of wind and road/tire noise. A car to be included in the semi-luxury class should not be this loud. This is a mee too, entry in the market by Infiniti which was taken out of the oven half baked. Does not compare in handling/ride to my older J-30. It is though roomy inside and has nice ergonomics. Sound system is fine, the sub-woofer is the weak link though as the lows are not tight enough. Similar Products Used: Toyota Camry, Nissan Maxima, Volvo S70 and S80, Infinit J-30 |
