.5 / Infinity G35
Strength:
The exterior, interior (real titanium dash, I researched it and found out), the engine 260hp, and the brakes (incredible stop, as though the car is only ten pounds). THE BACK SEATS RECLINE. For those that do not know, the lever is both on the right and the left of the center backseat fold-down :) PS. Nav system is a big plus, not to mention the fact that it pops up from the dash.
Weakness:
I believe that the only problem that this car (even though it is a very stupid one) lacks lighted buttons on the steering wheel. I am a car enthusiast. Being a BMW fan, i expect the best to even compare to the KING BMW. So far until the G35, the BMW 330i was untouchable. It had gotten 1st place in many articals and magazines. Once the G35 came though, BMW had just got its 1st major opponent. The G35's acceleration (6 sec 0-60), phenominal brakes (probably would give you a wiplash if you hammered them), a beautiful styling inside and out gave BMW a royal beating. For 35000, you can get a top of the line G35 (not to mention the throaty 260 hp is standered with every version of the G35) romps BMW. Infinity has finally got out of its pits and found a strenght, the all new G35. (BUY ONE, check it out for your self!!!!) Infiniti G35 Coupe
Strength:
It looks fantastic and handles even better. Road feel is transmitted to you in a superb manner. The seats are very good - driver seat optimized for support, and passenger seats made for comfort. The engine sound is to die for - and it is reliable (as are Infiniti's as a whole.) The warranty is first-rate, the longest in the upscale Japanese car market. The NAV system pops up from inside the dash - great touch - and has a 3-D 'Birds-eye' view as well. Other nice "little" touches like fold-down rear seats, motors to move the front seats forward to ease access, the windows roll down and up automatically a quarter-inch to ease door opening and closing, etc.,
Weakness:
The interior - particularly the easy-to-scratch 'titanium' plastic. It looks like it belongs on a 25K car, not a 35K car. Easily scratched as well - you might even want to investigate the after-market for an lay-over interior. Also, remember that this is a true sport/grand touring vehicle - the ride will be stiff - as it should be for handling purposes - and you may not enjoy bumpy roads very much. The same is true of any car with a true sports suspension. Also, because it is a high-peformance sports/GT, the mileage isn't that great either. The car looks and handles like more expensive cars. From its' Xenon headlights to the LED taillights (and everything else) it is a beauty. Excellent acceleration throughout it's power curve. A great sound from it's exhaust that turns from a burbling sound to a howl when you accelerate. The interior is the only negative - Infiniti obviously spent most of their money on the engine and drivetrain - this is a sports/GT car after all! But the overall fit and finish of the car (excluding the dash materials) is first-rate. No squeaks or rattles - the car is as solid as a tank. Overall, this is the best car I have ever had and I have driven dozens of cars over almost 30 years. If you don't mind the natural lack of space that a coupe entails, and the interior doesn't bother you A LOT, then buying this car is not just recommended, it is your duty! Strength:
Great handling on dry pavement. Powerful! Lots of compliments from people on styling. Navigation system is user friendly/awesome. Seats are very comfortable. Stops on a dime. Xenon lights are great.
Weakness:
Where's the coffee cup go? Hard to reach front seatbelts. Everybody wants to race/ brings out the worst in some drivers. I have owned my G for three weeks. I Look forward to running chores for the family. Price wasn't too bad, you are going to have to pay at least 35k Cdn for a decent car anyways, why not spend a little more. Have owned an infiniti G20 many moons ago, great service from dealers. Similar Products Used: None recently |

260 HP 3.5L ENGINE: WHAT MORE!!! 5-Speed Automatic with manual shift mode (OH YEAH!) Aero package is fitted perfectly and there is nothing else like it VALUE, VALUE, VALUE! Fit and finish is amazing VQ ENGINE IS SO AMAZING: Has won 9 consecutive awards for being the top ten engines in the world! Styling XENON's ARE SOO NICE LED Rear lights have gotten many compliments also 5-SPOKE CHROME SPORT RIMS ARE SOOO NICE I love where the seat controls are located The navigation is perfect, doesnt take away from the look of the car, and is at a birdseye view which is the only one in its class that i have seen like that..very easy to use I LIKE THE SECURITY SYSTEM TOO! hehe CAR OF THE YEAR BABY!
Weakness:
Only one gripe: I wish that the "titanuim" that INFINITI used was real aluminum, but it doesnt really detract from the car at all....what else? BOSE Stereo is not AS good as i have heard/seen but it is still much better than anything i had, had on me ES or GS. The BMW and other LEXUS' i had were Mark Levinson and Harmon Kardon. The JAG speakers/system was horrible! Another problem i have had is that the INFINITI ANALOG clock is very dim at night but i took it in and they replaced it, and it wasnt really that big of a deal since everytime i had the NAVIGATION up, it had a digital clock of its own...AMAZING CAR, EVERYONE SHOULD BE EVER SO PRIVELEGED TO OWN/DRIVE ONE!! CAR OF THE YEAR BABY! WOW! I cannot say more: this car leaves me speechless, and awed everytime i see it/drive it/show it off. I have a Silver one with full aero package/Navigation/XENON...the works! This car, out of every BMW and LEXUS i have owned is definately the best out of EVERYTHING i test drove/owned. I get the most looks when i drive this car and everytime i park it ANYWHERE, even a couple times in BEVERLY HILLS, i get looks and crowdsa around my car. And At least one person who is part of the crowd, when he learnds the price says he will get one. EVERYTHING is easy to use on this car and the looks: ABSOLUTELY GORGOUS. If i had to, i would say that this is the best day in age for cars, only because of this car. INFINITI IS ALSO A GREAT COMPANY TO DEAL WITH IN DEALERSHIPS! CAR OF THE YEAR BABY! Torque, torque, torque!
Weakness:
Bose sound system does not impress (but at least the 6-disk CD changer is in the dash!) Driver's seat bottom could be a little wider with less intrusive bolsters. A heated, telescoping steering wheel with lighted controls would make a nice option. If I have to buy rims and snow tires, it's going to be expensive due to the 235/50 17R (rear) and 225/50 17R (front) tires the car came with. Great car! Good mix of sportiness, features and room for four adults. Ride is firm without being too stiff (even on the upper midwest roads in the winter). The Laser Red color is great and gets a lot of looks and comments. Similar Products Used: Tested the Jaguar S-type, BMW 330 Coupe, Audi A4 and Lexus GS 300 before buying the G35 Coupe. |

Dealer servicing, & Infiniti Canada customer service sub standard. Terrible experience with servicing on first visit. Car still not back to me after nearly 5 weeks. Went in for first servicing, windshield replacement & loose defrost vent. Excellent fit and finish. Nicely optioned, and very nice driving car. Noticeably cheap interior materials, and windshield(thin) easily broken/cracked. Similar Products Used: Volvo XC, Acura NSX, Ford F-150 |

Strength:
- Very healthy 280 ponies, DOHC 3.5L V6 - Sounds like a V8 engine -Awesome suspension -Smooth transmission -Excellent ride quality -Very thought of interior
Weakness:
Can't see any. Test drove the G35 Coupe this past Monday. Car is just amazing. Everything from the looks, the interior is designed very nicely with alot of neat features, ride is very comfortable and most entertaining of all is the 3.5L 24 DOHC V6. This car MOVES! If you aren't a fan of the true 6 speed manual (I am) take the auto. You can put it in sports shift mode and it acts as a manual without a clutch. The car itself is very civilized unless you punch it and it hits 3000 RPM's, then you'de better hold onto something because this bad boy will GET GOING... Similar Products Used: Lexus IS300: Power was good but not in the same league, clutch pedal too close to the brake pedal, common Lexus you guys can do better than that. |

G35 Coupe
Strength:
- Styling is new, but not tacky or too modern. I love the taillights as they are similar to the Skyline (two circles on each side) as well as the mini-headlight reverse lights! Cool! - Performance: 280 HP, RW drive, incredible suspension (multi-link), 6-speed MT, dual exhaust, cold air intake and the brakes to stop the madness - $15g cheaper than a boxter while outperforming and outstyling it - Wheels: 18" for only $500! - Breaks: Brembo 13" on the front - Cool extras abound - heated seats and mirrors, two cigarette lighter sockets in front, adjustable steering with the whole gauge cluster moving with it, very firm seats for those tight corners, usable rear seats (that fold down)
Weakness:
- The 245/45 18" make for a potentially tiring ride for long trips, though who cares, its a sports car? Find the path less straight and you will forget about the distance. - Gas Mileage - good thing there is the 6th gear! Got 24 mpg on the freeway averaging 75 MPH. Getting 20 around the city. I could ease off the gas a bit and get 1 or 2 more, but what fun is that? Nissan/Infiniti has made a significant stride with the G35 coupe. It combines performance with style and value that is second to none. The features, styling, performance and price make this car the best car on the market as an overall package. Nothing on it makes it feel like a compromise. |

/g35 sedan
Strength:
1. blast to drive- very fast (acceleration) and very smooth (be careful!! before you know it, that speedometer is reading very high!!) 2. excellent brakes- take a bit getting used to sensitivity but no sweat 3. a "real" rear seat- not joke like so many competitor cars 4. Nav system is great... and yeah, practical 5. some may differ, but I dig the exterior looks/styling 6. small matter, but trunk good size and its door opens high with very little head-bump hazard 7. audio controls on steering wheel very easy to make many radio/tape/cd choices 8. has lotsa safety features (including multiple air bags/curtains 9. so far, HVAC system very good- await winter testing
Weakness:
1. having bit of trouble getting comfortable in driver's seat (perhaps because I'm heavy with big thighs and rear!)-- includes left leg close to door controls, "dead pedal" not close enough to driver (design error)-- and maybe seat should be a little wider and "cushier" (yeh, I know it's more like sports car)-- I think I'll find my "spot" though 2. lacks coat-hanging clips on rear door upper grips-- they should give free retrofit slide-ons/over and/or hooks integral with new upper grips 3. no particularly good place for litter bag-- for now, I have it on cigarette lighter (I do not smoke)-- not too bad 4. Nav system eliminated 2 storage bins- would like small, easy-to-reach, indented uncovered tray for pen, pad, etc. so don't have to reach back into (and have to open) console in all cases 5. sweep clock is way too difficult to make out at night (although Nav clock is excellent)- sweep clock should at least be better lit-- probably needes greater length difference between hands, as well exhilarating-- so far, highly recommend-- see my "strengths" section-- it ended up coming down to g35 or acura tl-s I got Nav, xexon, lotsa wood (did not like original interior surface, which I hid with the wood-- looks very good and rich now!), sunroof, winter pkg, premium package (including reclining rear seats, homelink and other stuff) Similar Products Used: maxima |

Too soon for a comprehensive review but my intial impressions are that this is a very quick, high quality drive that feels rock solid. Looks great inside and out. Excellent value.
Weakness:
CD player (Bose system) Just got the car and love it with one painful exception - the CD player - it jammed within a week. Now I'm waitng a week or two to get a replacement and then another few weeks to get the CDs out of the old unit. Very frustrating experience. From comments by the service technician I get the feeling this problem happens somewhat frequently. This involves the Bose premium system. In fairness the dealer dealt with the problem immediately and my first impressions are otherwise very positive. Too soon to give a full review. Similar Products Used: Audi A4; BMW 323 |
