Strength:
Rear Wheel Drive, awesome 5 Speed Auto Trans. Power and get. Goodies like rear seat recline, air conditioning vents, xenon headlights, dual climate control. Vehicle Control system. LCD taillights.
Weakness:
Would like fog lights in separate pod rather than integraded with headlights. Time delay on Auto headlights. Come on too quick in garage, etc. MPG could be a bit better, but think that comes with RWD. (actually can't get a good reading because of punching it so much-ha) My third Infiniti, and while I really liked them all, this one gives true excitement. The purchasing experience at an Infiniti dealer is different and actually quite enjoyable. Similar Products Used: 2000 I-30. Got to stick with G35. |

Strength:
This car has been good so far. It has some nice features like the one touch windows/sunroof, power seat adjustments, and heated seats. There is very little noise at highway speeds, and the car handles well in both the city and highway. The indash 6 cd player is a nice touch as are the steering wheel controls. The rear leg room is very nice, as are the reclining seats ( not that I ever intend on being in the back seat!)
Weakness:
The Bose stereo rattles at high volume. The subwoofer cannot handle the low bass as it was intended. The clock seems to lose time every second day, and you would think for this money, you'd get something more then a pop rod to hold up your hood. The gas mileage is worse then my Audi, which was quattro. Nissan should consider putting summer tires on the car, and offering a winter tire/rim package. The Bridgestones on the car just don't cut the mustard. This car has been good so far. It has some nice features like the one touch windows/sunroof, power seat adjustments, and heated seats. This car has plenty of get up and go, but so far I am trying to adhere to the break in period. It seems the Bose stereo could be of better quality. I previously owned a 2000 I 35. There is no comparison between the I and G. I do like the absence of locks on 3 of the 4 doors and the trunk. Similar Products Used: 1998 Honda Acoord EX-V6 2000 Infiniti I 35 2001 Audi S4 |

260 HP 6sp. engine! Recling back seats Stereo Exterior Styling
Weakness:
Car rattles a little when the stereo is cranked up. Let me begin by saying that I am car nut. I looked for months to find the best car I could get within my budget. After testing the A4, the new TSX, the 2004 Maxima, and the Mazda 6, the G35 blew them away. The A4 was too small, the TSX's styling was too conservative, the Maxima was overpriced and the Mazda 6 exterior looks ridiculous. I was able to get a 6sp. with everything except the navigation and rear spoiler for $31,400. I have been in love with the car since I drove it off the lot. The engine is powerful, the steering is reponsive, and the interior is both sporty and luxurious. The car definitely makes a statement and unlike a BMW 3 series you don't see one at every corner. The car is at home cruising on the highway or carving up a curvey country road. I would recommend the car to anybody. |

Everything.
Weakness:
City gas mileage and clock. Excellent car in all ways except one big one. City gas mileage is terrible, 13.5 mpg. I drive very easy, called Infiniti many times, took to 2 dealers (both told me others had same problem)who checked in with Infiniti for tips, and said everything was in spec. Since the price sheet says the City MPG is 19, I think they are misleading the public with such a high estimate. I have never had a car that deviates that much from the sticker. Unbelievably fast! Get the 6 speed if you really want a rush
Weakness:
Brakes get the wheels dirty. I test drove the G35 automatic at my local dealer for the first time last summer. It was already a winner versus the other manu-matics, but I like to pick my own gears. I waited…WOW. The 6 Speed Sedan drives like an S-2000 and still fits the kids. The pure power of this motor coupled directly to the drive train is downright dangerous. It has enough torque to easily start off the line in second gear and will do better than 60 MPH before you need the clutch again. I live in the land of endless freeways and when cruising well in excess of the speed limit, it is perfectly well-mannered, only faster. My G35 Sedan 6 MT package came with the sport package: 17” wheels, lower profile tires and a slightly stiffer suspension. The ride is firm, but not harsh. Control from behind the steering wheel is precise and predictable. The recent rains, in combination with Southern California drivers, have provided several opportunities to test the tires and antilock brakes on the wet pavement. I’d swear the thing is on rails. Note: Keep an eye on the rear view mirror when braking hard. These brakes will stop you before just about anything else on the road. The G35 MT I bought has the premium package and came with the reclining back seats, upgraded stereo, sunroof and a few extra toys. It is well worth the extra bucks if you can find it. I do not know how many of these my friends at Infiniti are planning to build, but, it may take a while to find the right one. The dealer was great. I made the contact through Infiniti’s Web site. You can see what each dealer has on the lot before you talk to them. They opened up the shop early for me and I drove it to work that morning. I have never bought a car in 45 minutes before. What a pleasure. At 6’3”, I am fairly tall, but the G35 has enough room to get me where I need to be and still have room for back seat passengers. If you spend a lot of time in the car, it makes a big difference not to have to duck your head under the rear view mirror to see across the intersection. The seat controls take a little getting used to, but with the memory that comes with the premium package, it’s not an issue after you get it set up. The passenger seat is quite comfortable and with its own A/C settings, your significant other can be in the desert while you are in the mountains. There are, of course a few things that I am still scratching my head about: Gas. I seem to be going through quite a bit of it: I am getting just over 20 MPG with mixed driving. The controls for the stereo and climate control take a little getting used to. After a week of playing, I have it switched to A/C ECON and forgotten about it. It does the job without being bothersome. Loading CD’s can be a project that demands more attention than it should. Try to load the stereo while you are in the driveway. The brakes will kick out enough brake dust to get the wheels dirty with one trip to work. Similar Products Used: This is a one and only under 40 Grand |

G-35 Sports Sedan
Strength:
Style, power, comfort, speed, stereo! Beats all others in its class for the money. The San Diego Dealership is a class act - (Discover Infinity) the experience was far from the usual.
Weakness:
Excessive Brake dust and problem with getting the gas cap off, it's a bit tricky. What a car! Infinity has definetly gotten it together with this one. Unbelievable power and passing or uphill acceleration is no problem with this beauty. The Bose system is sound perfect. An awesome ride - that only gets more appreciated with each drive. interior material quality a bit low for the class Great car for $35k. It has every option except for nav. system. I own a 2000 328i Sport/Premium pkg. and considered a new 330i. The g35 doesn't match the BMW in refinement, but makes up for it in performance. This is the only Infiniti product I have ever considered buying and am pleased with the purchase. I HATE THE INFINITI ANALOG CLOCK!!!! Tires very poor on snowy or slick roads; Location of temperature/climate control buttons; Location of the drivers seat buttons; Vehicle Dynamic Assist, does more harm than good, I take it off in bad conditions. If you like power, looks and a low price, this is your car. It seems that everywhere I go I have someone ask me about my G35, mine is Silver w/charcoal interior, very sharp!! The torque of the engine is amazing, though at higher speeds, 50mph and over, it doesn't have that additional push that one might hope for, but from a stand still, watch out. The jury is still out on the handling, in dry weather its unreal, but in the rain and especially when there's snow it seems very hard to get traction. In fact, I'm looking to get better tires on the rear wheels for the rest of winter. But, for the price, just over 30k, how can you beat it. Similar Products Used: Nissan Altima; Acura Integra |

Poor build quality and dealer service: A clunking sound behind the rear seats was traced to improperly installed body braces. According to the service tech. the braces should have been spot-welded at the factory. The service tech. told me he fixed the problem by peening (hitting) the braces with a hammer! Something in the driver's door has now come loose and the window clunks. I have taken the car twice to the local dealer to have it fixed. The local dealer, Niello, does not appear to be interested in fixing this problem. See Review Summary for comments on dealer service. This is my first Japanese car. Nice car. Good value for the price. However, if the price was $2,000 to $4,000 more I would have bought a 325i BMW instead. My wife has a 2002 325i, entry level except for premium package and xenons, and it is a better car. The build quality of the BMW is better than Infiniti's. My impression is that the build quality of Infiniti is on a par with VW. After all, the G35 is just a rebadged Nissan. Nissan/Infiniti have to have their dealers realize that customer service is of the highest priority. I have had poor service from Niello Infiniti in Concord, CA. Their service manager actually complained to me that they had spent too much time on my car to correct a design or manufacturing flaw. Similar Products Used: 2002 BMW 325i Several Audis Several VWs |
