STEREO: I don't know about the '03, but I found the '04 stereo to be excellent. INFINITI SERVICE: I used to own a QX4 back in the late 90's and the service I got then is a primary reason I looked at them again. LOOKS: A really attractive car, without being overly showy. PERFORMANCE: As pleasing to drive as a BMW; even more pleasing when you consider you paid $8000 less for it.
Weakness:
RADIO RECEPTION: There is a definite trade-off with the windshield antenna. No annoying rod, but you lose AM reception under bridges and tunnels. REAR VIEW: kind of like that girl you had a crush on in high school; Average looking from the rear, but the front view is what made your heart pound. TRUNK: Very nitpicky, there is no way to close the trunk w/o touching the top of the trunk. I just don't like to get my oily fingertips on the paint after I wash and wax it, that's all. Like I said, very nitpicky. Researched everything in this price range, from Acura TL Type-S to BMW 330i, and went with G35 for the best combination of looks and price. Got Black Obsidian w/ Graphite leather interior and totally love my car. Acceleration even in auto mode is sink-you-in-your-seat fast. Features galore, as many as the E320 for $20,000 less. Wind noise is minimal, but I found it hard to concentrate on wind noise when all I could think was, "Holy-sh*t-I'm-going-fast-I-was-going-35 mph-2-seconds-ago." Infiniti G35 Sedan
Strength:
* Strong engine, especially when rpm's build to 3000 and over. * Great suspension, comfortable on the road when cruising, yet firm when pushed into the corners. * Looks * Interior space and comfort. * Bang for the buck.
Weakness:
* Gas mileage. * Brakes are too sensitive and will lead to premature brake wear. * Dash lighting fades out when sun is directly on it. * Poor design of console controls. * Average interior quality parts. * Odd tire size. Limited on replacement rubber. I'm being picky hear only because I feel Infiniti is close to having a great interior. Best in class for value. Caribbean Blue which receives great comments from others. I have owned this car for close to a year now and feel it's time for comments. Very peppy and gear shift is smooth. It has excellent pick-up speed. Car looks great.
Weakness:
Drove the G35 for 400 miles when the navigation system just broke down and did not re-engage. Very upset. Upon delivery of car, found that the rear reclining seat stuck; had to pull seat forward manually. Memory on drivers seat did not function at all. Car pulled to the right. Something rattling loose inside rear trunk hood. I'm not finding the drivers seat to be comfortable, relative to its adjustments. Trunk hood is extremely heavy to lift up. Glove compartment is very small. South Motors as a dealership, is very difficult to deal with, although salesman tried to be very accommodating. I've had the car for 2 days. Looked great. It is a 6 speed manual transmission. Was not happy with South Motors dealership, as they made me wait 3 weeks to receive the car, which was being transported from another state. Strength:
Great engine, brakes, ride, visibility, confort and uniqueness. Still in break in but car is a runner. Engine pulls stronger than most v8s I ve driven. Geat seating poition and drivers seat has enough movement to accomodate my short wife without pushing her into the air bag. Trim quality is average but i opted for the graphite interior with wood accents. Remove alot of the titanium (which makes the car too modernish) This tones down the interior and makes it more classy. The reason I chose the back with graphite interior. My wifes boss have a Mercedes E320, the G has most of the same features, size etc. G costs 18+K less and looks better to boot. Plus the engin eis more powerful.
Weakness:
Car was delivered with a deformed sunroof gasket and a torn splah guard. All being taken care of by dealer. Hard car to maintain as a do-it-yourselfer. Alot of covers and all areas not as readily accessable as my J30 Wow! This car is great. Premium package, black/graphite. Also have 1993 J30t but this car is light years ahead of the J in performance but the interior of the J still oozes quality and class more than the G. Bought this car after testing two Gs and two FXs. Wife liked FX due to style I like G because of ride, handling, performance. Since it is my car then I chose. Similar Products Used: 1993 J30t |

The car just looks *amazing!*
Weakness:
My navigation system stopped working after the 3rd week (right after I sent in the survey stating that everything was excellent). I have already taken it in twice and now they say they have to replace the entire system! To make matters worse, when I dropped my car in for service, they drove it for over 20 miles for their personal errands that they had to run during the day. I did not take it to Riverside, but to another dealership which I refuse to state. But, Infiniti Consumer Affairs will surely hear about this. The first 2 weeks were great...read below for details Similar Products Used: nissan 350z |

Strength:
Car accelerates smoothly and strongly, hangs to corners well, looks fantastic and runs very well. Plenty of back seat room. Infiniti treats you well, you get what you pay for. Great service.
Weakness:
Horrible on snow & ice. Having paint issues with not bonding to the bumpers, although the dealer has been great and Nissan is repainting. No convertable model. I have 10,000 miles on this car. Love the ride, acceleration and performance. I have the sport tuned suspension, aero package, leather and its a joy to drive. The buying experience was wonderful, service is second to none and the free hand washes are incredible. Car has been mechanically sound. Similar Products Used: Mustang, Oldsmobile Intrigue |

The clock is dim I dont get to drive it enough I wanted this car from the time i first saw it. I test drove cars for months, almost everything in its class. I decided on the G for design, ride and price. I have not been dissapointed. 11 months into it and I have not had any of the problems I have heard about. Nothing but fun. Strength:
Fun car with a lot of horsepower for the money. Great Bose Stereo system, and features for the money.
Weakness:
Two MAJOR weaknesses that only manifest themselves after the number of miles I've driven: 1. You will need to replace the brakes frequently on this car - roughly every 15,000 to 20,000 miles. Infiniti Consumer Affairs and most local dealerships are aware of the problem; and Infiniti is trying to develop a "fix it". Infiniti is not providing goodwill towards defraying the cost because it is a wear and tear item not covered by warranty. Before purchasing the car, call your local dealer to check the cost of brake replacement. In my 2001 BMW, the brakes didn't need to be replaced until 31,000 miles and, of course, it was covered under the Full Maintenance Program, so it was free. 2. The outboard bolster on the driver's side leather seat is starting to crack where the driver rubs across the seat bolster upon entry and exit. The automatic seat exit feature has been on since I bought the car, so that's not the problem. I take extremely good car of my cars, and I've never had this problem before. I don't know if the problem will become worse with age, or if this is the extent of the problem. I've owned my Infiniti G35 for 11 months and 21000 miles. I purchased the car in July 2002 with Automatic Transmission, Premium Package, Xenon Headlamps, Leather Interior, and Wood Trim. I have some good news to report and some bad news to report. See below. Similar Products Used: Owned 2001 BMW 325i 4-dr Sedan, 1998 Honda Accord 4-dr Sedan. |
