Strength:

Styling, gizmos and performance. Drives as good as it looks. Solid car. Driving around Detroit, you find out really quick if your car is solid or not.

Weakness:

Alarm system. You can break into the rear windows, open the rear doors and the alarm does not sound. Remote distance varies.

Purchased this car as a secondary car. This is my 3rd Chyrsler product. I keep hearing people cry and wine about how a hunk of junk these cars are. I bought my car used. I also got the Advantage Added Care warrenty included with the price. I've gone back to the dealer 3 times for little things, headlight that didn't work (didn't check it when I was looking over the car), keyless entry remote didn't work, dealer gave me a new one, programed it and even showed me how to do it incase I wanted to buy another remote and didn't want to pay 35.00 to program it. They also reset my auto door locks. All this without an appointment. Hats off to them for customer service. They even called a local tire place to get me a GOOD deal on a set of new tires. We love the car so far. The kids (3) do too. We don't drive the van as much as we used to now. For you people who are bit-ching about the quality of this car, if you can find anything better for the money, go buy it.

Strength:

Smooth ride and looks!! The LHS combines Power, Eligence & Style.

Weakness:

NONE!

Anyone who likes a good, trustworthy car, without paying an arm and a leg, will love this car. It is worth every penny. I have had no problems in the past with this car and I couldn't ask anymore than what the Chrysler LHS offers. I give this car a top rating, for performance, style, power, and price. Chrysler has had its share of bumps with cars in the past. But now that is all over. Introducing the Chrysler LHS, simply perfect.

300M- the 300M is more sporty, and, to me, is a little overrated. When you want the sleek look and the power without the sporty style (hogging everything)....the LHS is your car!

THERE ISN'T ENOUGH ROOM TO LIST ALL OF THEM, BUT I'LL TRY. CUSTOMER SERVICE, ATTITUDE, ATTENTION TO DETAIL, REPEATED ELECTRICAL PROBLEMS,(KEYLESS ENTRY, SEAT HEATERS,HEADLIGHT MALFUNCTION,)REPAIR TIME,ECT.

IN SEPT. 2000 MY WIFE AND I BOUGHT THIS CAR SORT OF AS A ANNIVERSY PRESENT TO EACH OTHER. IT WAS THE FIRST NEW CAR, AS IN BRAND NEW, (16 MI. ON ODOMETER) FOR EITHER OF US SINCE 1973. IN THE SIX MONTHS WE HAD THE CAR,IT WAS IN THE SHOP FOR NUMERIOUS THINGS, CHIEF AMOUNG THEM WAS FOR AN ELECTRICAL PROBLEM THAT THE DEALERSHIP COULD NOT FIND THE CAUSE OF.THAT TIME THEY KEEP IT A WEEK. I WILL ADMIT THEY TRIED A LOT THINGS,THEY CHANGED OUT THE CD CHANGER, THE RADIO, AND EVEN REPLACED THE SOFTWARE FOR THE COMPUTER BUT TO NO AVAIL. BEFORE I PICKED UP THE CAR THAT TIME, I ASKED THEM TO REPLACE THE BATTERY, BECAUSE THE INDICATOR "EYE" WASN'T GREEN LIKE IT SHOULD HAVE BEEN, WHICH THEY DID. TWO OR THREE WEEKS LATER, I TOOK THE CAR IN FOR IT'S 3000 MILE OIL CHANGE, TOLD THE SERVICE DEPT, SALES MANAGER, AND ONE OF THE SALESMEN THAT HAD HELPED SELL US THE CAR, THAT WE WERE STILL HAVING PROBLEMS WITH THE ELECTRICAL, THEY SAID THEY WOULD CALL MY WIFE ON MONDAY AND MAKE ARRANGEMENTS TO GET THE CAR BACK IN TO THE DEALERSHIP,THISWAS ON FRIDAY.THE FOLLOWING THUSRDAY, IT WAS VERY FOGGY OUT, AND MY WIFE COULD ONLY GET EITHER THE HIGH BEAMS OR THE FOG LIGHTS TO COME ON. WHEN SHE ARRIVED AT WORK SHE CALLED THE DEALERSHIP AND COMPLAINED ABOUT THE PROBLEM. THE SERVICE MANAGER TOLD HER SHE HAD A PROBLEM WITH HER HUSBAND AND NOT THE CAR, (BECAUSE I HADN'T TOLD HIM ABOUT THE PROBLEM ON THE PERVIOUS FRIDAY, HE WASN'T THERE.) THAT EVENING AFTER I HAD HEARD WHAT HAD HAPPENED, I WENT TO THE DEALERSHIP AND SPOKE WITH THE GENERAL MANAGER/OWNER, AND AS CALMLY AS POSSABLE TOLD HIM IN NO UNCERTIN TERMS, THAT I WOULD BE AT THE DEALERSHIP ON FRIDAY OR SATERDAY TO RETURN THE CAR AND THAT I EXPECTED ALL OF MY MONEY RETURNED (I ALREADY HAD THE TITLE.) ON FRIDAY HE CALLED ME AT WORK AND TOLD ME THAT HE WOULDN'T REFUND MY MONEY. ON SATERDAY WE TRADED THE CAR RIGHT ACROSS THE STREET, PURCHASING THE '98 CAD DEVILLE. WE WERE GIVEN $23,000 FOR THE LHS, PLUS WE HAD TO FINANCE ANOTHER $6,000 FOR THE CAD, MAKING IT APPOX A $14,000 LOSS FOR JUST 6 MO. OF OWNERSHIP. I WILL NEVER OWN A CHRYSLER PRODUCT AGAIN.

Strength:

We love the styling and ride of this car, and it is very roomy. It is a shame they do not spend as much time on quality control and reliability as they do design, chrysler would make a great product.

Weakness:

It is a piece of JUNK. This car has had one thing after another go wrong with it.

This car has had cronic transmission problems. Its been worked on three times, the third time the dealership rebuilt it. It has had many other problems here is a short list: Water pump, fuel line leak, lower control arm problems, ABS problems,Traction control problems,The whole air conditioning system needed replaced,Rear window switch is bad,Fresh air intake door motor burned up and needed replaced and now it has been in the shop for over a week and they cannot find the problem. The car will downshift into low on its own often at highway speeds and sometime the gauges will not come on, when this happens the car will not shift gears. They replaced a part they thought was the problem but it was not it. This cost me $550.00 now they decided to contact Chrysler and think it is something to do with the ABS system. To do this it is another $450.00 we have contacted everyone we could possibly talk to at Chrysler and they will do nothing. The car is UNSAFE AND A BIG LEMON.

Strength:

Great looks, excellent power, good economy for power, very luxurious, good brakes, and good ride. With the premium wheels, it is a real head turner.

Weakness:

Can't think of any.

This is a great car. It has super styling, much better than any US makers. It offers a tremendous amount of features for a fairly reasonable price. I can't understand why Chrysler has'nt sold more of them. I never see them advertised.

Strength:

Appearance, handling, power, comfort - particularly the roominess. It is a great car to drive long distances on the Interstate as well as around town, when it isn't in the shop for repairs.

Weakness:

I have 60,000 miles on the car and have treated it well, but it's been plagued with expensive maintenance requirements that are caused by poor design and manufacturing. I've put in $2,500 in repairs in the last 25,000 miles - water pump, air conditioner, etc. It is a classic lemon, just like Chrysler has been producing for 35 years.

High maintenance requirements and low tradein value offset its good handling and attractive styling.

Similar Products Used:

I have had four previous Chrylers (I never learn!) They've all been good looking cars that handled well, but were high maintenance dogs. My next car will not be a Chrysler.

Looks, leg room, luxury, and power

Weakness:

Transmission replaced 3 THREE times in less then 40000 miles. Dealerships are all independant so you can't take it to any other repair center to get quality warranty work. Chrysler customer service wont help and will not say why. Repairs take weeks at a time. ABS/Traction control module went out at 60k. Front suspension started sqeeking at 40k but mechanics dont hear it untill after the warranty expired. They wanted $1800 to fix it even though it was originally identified well within the warranty. Chrysler is again no help. STAY AWAY FROM CHRYSLER|DODGE!!!!!!!!!!! Their 5 stars means NOTHING. That is not an earned rating at all. The dealerships do not have to maintain any sort of quality control to maintain thier 5 star rating.

Don't touch Chrysler or Dodge products at all. Engineering looks good on the surface but is all rotten underneath. Their are more dissattisfied people then there are happy ones. The dealerships are individually run and do not have to answer to Chrysler or Dodge corp. HQ. Bad mix all around

Strength:

In it's universe this car has power to spare and offers a luxurious ride. The ergonomics make it an excellent long distance car. The interior is very quiet even at high speeds. The braking system is state of the art and earns your confidence.

Weakness:

There are no weaknesses in this car when compared to other cars in it's class.

I would strongly recommend this automobile for those looking for 1. space 2. comfort/luxury 3. power 4. unique body styling. Chrysler has packed in a generous amount of all four attributes. However, if power is your thing and price flexible you can buy a more powerful touring sedan. Last but not least, the car has that "head turning" look once reserved for those foreign jobs.

Similar Products Used:

Sport/Family Sedans: 300m has more power and a bit more aggressive styling but also a higher ticket price. Ford Taurus is in a lower class in all categories. Nissan Maxima fun car but not nearly as spacious and refined. Lexus GS300 very nice car but again not as spacious and refined.

Strength:

Ride is great. Sounds system and digitals are nice. Car is very comfortable on long trips. Good range of vision - sides and back.

Weakness:

Where do I start? Mechanically, this car has been a nightmare. Items replaced:
torque converter on transmission
then the transmission itself
ball joints
tie rod ends
strut arms
front end agains sounds like it needs major work
the condensor and the compressor for the A/C unit
car currently needs its third evaporator for A/C unit at about $850 a pop
water pump
power steering pump
digital temperature control panel
ignition wiring harness
paint has chipped easily
was leaking fuel - fuel rails and fuel rings had to be replaced
fuel injectors replaced
crankshaft sensor
wheel bearings

Dealing with Chrysler and the Chrysler dealer.

I will never buy another Chrysler product. Chrysler would not admit this car was a disaster. They should issue a recall for these evaporator systems that keep breaking. But since that is not safety related, owners will just have to suffer.

The value of this car went into the waste can once the litany of flaws became apparent. Am currently looking to get rid of it, just hate for anyone else to be saddled with such a lemon. The car is virtually worthless and has been for the last couple of years.

I have been stranded at night with this car more than once. If you are looking for reliability, stay away from Chrysler. Its back to the reliability of Honda for me. Too bad this system will not let you give negative ratings; I would give this car and Chrysler a negative 10!
