Strength:

Very roomy, good riding vehicle

Weakness:

front ABS sensor switches and oxygen sensor replaced @ 73000, fuel o-rings replaced 60,000 water pump and timing belt replaced @ 75,000 miles. No other problems. Currently have 76000 miles as of 3/2001

Other then the sensor switches, and the recalls this is a very good vehicle. I replaced the pump and timing belt due to a friend telling me that if it went on its own (t-belt)I would be replacing the rods too MAJOR EXPENSE. My wife is actually the driver and she takes good care of it. We have not had any problems with transmission, although same friend said if I did find it slipping to CHANGE TRANS/TORQUE CONVERTER FLUID, DRIVE 1000 MILES AND HAVE IT CHANGED AGAIN @ A TOTAL COST OF ABOUT $200.00. CHEAPER THEN REPLACING TRANSMISSION. We live in the Northeast and have taken this car to Florida twice, and will go again this summer.

its a great car for the money. it has everything you could want in a car.its a big car that drives like a sport sedan.definatly one of the best cars ive driven at a lower price than the imports in the same class.with the breaking system you can stop on a dime, who needs to pay 50 grand for this kind of car.

Strength:

THE LOOKS AND STANDARD FEATURES OF THE CAR ARE WONDERFULL. LARGE TRUNK, SPACEOUS SEATING, AND COMFORTABLE RIDE. THE ENGINE, IS POWERFULL AND VERY RESPONSIVE.

Weakness:

WHERE DO I START. HMMMM, I GUESS I'LL START AT THE BEGINNING. THE A/C HAS BEEN COMPLETELY REPLACED 4 TIMES, ONCE AT MY EXPENSE THREE TIMES DURING WARRANTY, THE TRANSMISSION HAS BEEN REPLACED THREE TIMES, ONCE AT MY EXPENSE, THE REAR WHEEL STABALIZER BROKE, AND THE WHEEL NEARLY FLEW OFF. AFTER INSPECTING THE STABALIZER BAR, IT WAS CLEAR THE IT WAS A BAD DESIGN. THE FRAME HOLING THE A-ARM BROKE, THRUSTING THE FRONT WHEEL INTO THE FRONT FENDER, MAKING IT IMPOSSIBLE TO STEER. THE PAINT HAS CHIPPED VERY EASILY, REPAIRS TO THE PAINT ARE VIRTUALLY COST PROHIBITTED. THESE ARE ONLY SOME OF THE MAJOR PROBLEMS THAT THE CAR HAS HAD SINCE MY PURCHASE. THE WORSE PART OF ALL OF THE PROBLEMS WITH THE CAR IS THAT THE DEALER, AND CHRYSLER HAVE NOT BEEN VERY HELPFULL AT ALL. IN FACT, AFTER BRINGING MY CAR IN SO MANY TIMES AND BEING UPSET AT THE TIME INVOLVED IN REPAIRING IT AND THE FACT THAT ALL THE REPAIRS WERE NOT DONE CORRECTLY, I'VE BEEN BANNED FROM THE DEALERSHIP. TWO RECALLS ON THE CAR WERE DENIED ME BECAUSE THE DEALER JUST DOESN'T LIKE ME. ONE OF THE RECALLS WAS THE FUEL RAIL, WHICH ENDED UP SPRAYING FUEL UNDER THE HOOD OF MY CAR, LUCKILY THERE WASN'T A SPARK. HMMMMMMM. I FELT LIKE IT WAS ATTEMPTED "MURDER" BY THE DEALER.

NEVER NEVER BUY ANOTHER LEMON, OH I MEAN CHRYLSER!!!!!!!
THE RESALE VALUE IS @#$%^&*.
NO ONE IN THEIR RIGHT MIND WILL BUY THIS CAR FROM ME.
I'LL JUST HAVE TO DRIVE IT TILL I JUNK IT.
I ACTUALLY THINK IF THE DEALER HAD BEEN WILLING TO WORK WITH ME ON THINGS
I WOULD BE MORE WILLING TO BUY FROM CHRYSLER AGAIN.

VALUE RATING: MINUS TEN STARS ON THIS CAR!

Strength:

The style, space, and luxury of the LHS is great. It is definitely a comfort car, ideal for traveling. We like the steel reinforced doors as we have small children and consider the car to be one of the safest we have had. Mileage indicator very nice to have.

Weakness:

The constant problems, one after another. The evaporator coil has been replaced 4 times (HAC), transmission is slow to engage when car has been sitting for a while, replaced sway bar links twice, and just had ball joints replaced. The list is endless...

LHS 1994. We paid $27,000 for it. We would not recommend this car unless it has been greatly improved in mechandics. It doesn't sound like there is a LHS offered in 2000, they have switched to the 300M. Hmmm, wonder why? Definitely do not buy a used one that has not had the things fixed that I have mentioned. If we didn't have so many problems with the car we would have recommended it hands down.

Strength:

Still Going really well. After rough Oklahoma Summer and Winters. Big, alot of trunk space, power and a good sound system. I like it better then almost any Cadillac.

Weakness:

Headlight aiming is not always set perfect. 1 major problem due to timing belt sliding taking out the cooling system total repair $800. A/C motor burned out and radio antenna came loose. Besides that no problems

Extremely good car. Has almost 70,000 miles with just those couple problems. Need to improve headlight aiming though. I really like it I would buy another one. and all of you complaining its probably your fault for hotrodding it cause it is extremely easy to do so. and the motors in the a/c are from running it on 60 with the fan on high. but as i saud u would buy another one when this 1 dies which i doubt it will

Strength:

comfort; handling on open road; spaciousness; sound system;

Weakness:

mechanical problems unending. transmission, water pumps (twice); timing belt (twice); brakes (3 times); air conditioning; inaccurate information reading on message center; ignition jams frequently; front wheel bearing went- rusted so badly to axle that axle & SBS had to be replaced as well. Cost over $1,000 and broke wheel puller.

Believing that a Chrysler was special, and having to pay out thousands of dollars because of this vehicle, has throughly disillusioned me. The dealers solution........sell it, and buy a car I can afford to maintain. Now I just need to find someone who doesn't know the track record of an LHS.

Strength:

Good styling, great handling, roomy and comfortable

Weakness:

road noise

It's a shame that such a nice car gets such poor ratings however if you look the majority of complaints come from those who own the 94 & 95 models. I also owned a 94 and it had a lot of maintenance problems also. However every time we got it fixed we fell in love with it again. It handles extremely well for such a large car. It looks great and it rides good. The power is good although some reviewers have said that it should have more. In short it fits the need for myself and my wife very well. We liked the 94 in spite of the mechanical problems so much that we opted for a low mileage 97 about 2 yrs ago. We have had no problems with it. Also it should be noted that the 94 & 95 were flagged by Motor Trend as high maintenance vehicles that should be avoided. I am glad they got the problems taken care of. This is a very nice car that is more on the line of a European luxury sedan rather than your typical American luxury car.

This car has style and comfort it is so fun to drive. When i got it, it only had 60k and now it has 95k. It is a luxury car with some power. I can truly only think of 2 weaknesses, I truly love my car!

Weakness:

I think there is only 2 thing that i don't like about my car that would be the headlights and in my trunk under the spare tire it leaks a little water. I truly think this car is a great deal I love it.

This car is great and to all those people that say they are lemons and bad cars I got a question for all of you Do you really know how to treat a car?

Strength:

It's an attractive car. Big and roomy. Lots of space in the trunk.

Weakness:

In one word, "reliability". It has left me on the roadside eleven times now. Thank God for AAA.
I'm on my third water pump now and second timing belts.
The A/C has been replaced completely 3 times now and its broken again.
Computer,Steering rack, most of the front end components have all had to be replaced.

Instead of calling it LHS they should have called it a POS.
This car has only 78,000 miles on it and its been in the shop more than I care to remember.
The water pump failed on the highway at 65 mph spilling antifreeze all over the windshield and then the engine died. We almost got killed. This happened, not once, but twice. I'm now on my third water pump.
The A/C has failed every summer. When I take it back to the dealer they replace the compressor, condense and evaporator. The last time they picked up the bill. But its broken again.
This was my first experience with Chryser and I can assure you it will be my last.
Maybe Daimler-Benz will put this company out of it miseryand shoot it.
