Strength:
The handling package allows this car to take curves, corner and respond better than most American sedans. The climate control and luxury features such as heated leather power seats (standard) and an instrument panel that''s a design-win by itself round out the attractiveness of this package.
Weakness:
I did not purchase this car under the illusion that it would perform like a sports car. It does not. It''s quick, not fast. It handles great but doesn''t push the envelope. I love this car. It looks great and performs well for it''s class. It accommodates family, friends or colleagues comfortably while giving the driver some latitude in acelleration and handling. A good combination of practicality and fun. Similar Products Used: BMW 328i- Nothing in a sedan class handles better, but the 300M is a hell of a lot more comfortable on a long highway trip or if your edging along in traffic. A 5-series is probably similar in comfort |

Weakness:
Road noise What a great car! Very roomy, both in the cabin and in the trunk. Great ride that can go from cruise to curve-carver in a minute. The stereo rocks and the 4 disk changer is a great idea. And, of course, it looks awesome from every angle. I''ve only had one problem and that was the leather on the steering wheel melting. My only complaints are the windows should go all the way down in the back, the mirrors are tiny and there should be more sound-deadening around the wheel wells. Similar Products Used: none. |

Refinement, style, power, comfort. A lot of car for the money.
Weakness:
Oooh, oohh, that smell... HELP!! 300M owners please respond! I just purchased a 300M over the weekend. I love the car, all except for a pungent smell that seems to be coming from the engine or exhaust (enters through the ventilation system). Everyone at the dealer says it is normal and goes away within the first week, but they couldn''t agree on the cause. We may trade it for another if it persists for another day or two. Great leather interior, Smooth engine and tranny, Auto-stick is great when needed. 330 watt infinity 4-cd changer stereo with 11 speakers is the best I've heard. Sporty looks. Great suspension. Auto-link for garage door opener. Comfort with lots of room; I'm 6'4" and have plenty of head and leg room. Memory seats, heated seats, and excellent temp control system are great. The 60/40 folding back seats are needed for skiing.
Weakness:
All you see is windshield in the front; you can't see any part of the hood. It will take time before I can judge parking. The plastic wood trim. One 2000 300M that I test drove with 40 miles on it had its rubber or vinyl trim falling off around the rear door. OUTSTANDING! I'm 40 years old and researched my new vehicle purchase for months. After test driving the Maxima, Acura 3.2TL, Volvo S80, and Mitsubishi Diamante, I would get out of them and say "Nice Ride, Great Interiors, but they aren't sporty at all (Volvo S80 2.9L is extremely underpowered). I felt like I was test driving old dude vehicles. Every time I researched these vehicles, I constantly read about comparisons to the 300M. All magazine and newspaper reviews love this car. I never considered it because of the way the front end looks (It different, so I dared to be different). Test driving this car was a pure pleasure, only the Acura had comparable power. My car has the performance handling package. I took a right hand turn going 40mph; it took it like it was on rails. The high perf Michelons on 17" crome plated rims hug the road. The engine and transmission sold me. All the other cars were as smooth as the 300M, but none had the torque that this does. This baby hauls. And the biggest selling point was when I got out of the car at a gas station, a 20 something-year-old told me how awesome the car looked. This car has the non-mopar gold package, rear spoiler, Perf Hdlg Pg, and moonroof. Similar Products Used: This car is in a class by itself. Because this car has so many standard features that you have to pay extra for in Japenese and German vehicles, It is by far the best value out there. |

Great engine sound from acceleration. Nice Audio system 4 disc in dash cd player. nice chrome wheels. in the middle back seat there is a seat belt which helps with safety. Side Airbags. Standard power and heat seats. Huge Deep Trunk. Great footspace. Nice leather, chrome. Built in computer is very handy. My parents and I have 2 300ms and we have NEVER and i mean NEVER had to take either one to the shop! OH yeah and a stylish interior!
Weakness:
Umm there really are no flaws but a navigational system w/ a dvd player would be nice in the future huh chrystler think about it. You Get your moneys worth! Similar Products Used: Mercedes CLK230- 300m has more horsepower and is a much smoother ride and has 5 seats instead of the 4 in the SLK. And think about comparing prices... 31k to 50 k you could buy a car for your kid with that money saved. |

Strength:
Awesome sleek looks inside and out. Nice amount of power from a V6. Many other cars also cannot touch the list of standard features. I fell in love with this car the first time I saw it and for 2001 the amount of changes made me feel like I was looking at two different models when I compared with a new 300M left over from the 2000 model year. The new wheel design gives a much needed “sporty touring” look to the car. The new transparent tail light lenses look amazing. The bright trim work around the side windows completely sets the car off especially on black (the color I chose). The new real wood trim with the luxury package looks very nice and the half wrap wood/leather steering wheel give you a feeling of almost handcrafted quality. The front seats were much more comfortable than the ones in a Mercedes E-class sedan and the leather has a much smoother softer look that appeals to me much more. In my opinion the seats looked cheap in the MB E-class sedans. The white-faced gauges are also a feature that is very attractive and not found in many cars. I have never received as many complements as i have within 2 months of owning this car. It seems like everyone loves it :-).
Weakness:
The speed control buttons on the steering wheel need to be lighted for night driving. You find yourself second-guessing on which button does what when setting speeds at nighttime. The rear windows should go down more than half way. The rear seats sit a little to straight up and down for my taste. The gas tank is too small (I find myself filling up at the pump every week). And gas mileage is a bit low. The standard Michelin tires leave something to be desired for handling and traction but seem to be good on wear and road noise. You may also want to get the Mopar locking gas cap as Chrysler chooses not to use locking lids for the gas filler door so your fuel tank is left open for someone to steal your fuel or contaminate it. This is my first time purchasing a car in this class and I have not looked back on my decision since. I looked at cars that have lists of features equal to the 300M but all of them cost $10,000-25,000 more and the interiors on these cars were just not that appealing. For the price range you will not find a finer car with as much standard equipment. So far the vehicle has 1,000 miles on it and had had to go back two times for warranty repairs. The first was a leaking front crankshaft seal and the second was a fitting that was loose on the transmission dripping fluid. Also if you want a CD changer, then go for the optional 11-speaker stereo. I got the standard stereo and ordered the 4 disc CD changer, but the standard CD player does not have CD changer controls and will cost you about $80 more to change to a new CD deck with changer controls. Beware if a salesman tells you that you can add a CD changer at any time. The only way it can be added to the standard deck is by a FM modulator kit, which will cause you to not be able to control the changer by steering wheel controls. If you are considering a sporty 4 door then you are making a huge mistake if you overlook the 300M. It is leaps and bounds above others in its price range and even some that are placed in higher classes. Similar Products Used: None |

300M
Strength:
To start with, this is just a very good looking car. It draws attention and looks with admiration from other motorists. The 300 legend was carried on in its 3.5L 253 horse power engine. This is a smooth yet strong engine. When you stomp on the gas, you will be pressing hard against the seat back. When you rev the engine to it power band (above 3000 rpm), this car moves with such agility that you forget it is almost a foot longer than cars like Honda Accord. The result is a lot more fun driving, and a lot more satisfaction knowing that it can out run most other production cars on the streets. Torque steering is minimum, and steering is precise and confident. You are also rewarded with the huge interior which is a trademark of LH cars. The driver's seat is more than enough to give me (6'3") plenty of leg room without even moving the chair all the way back. Even with the front chair moved all the way back, the back seats passenger still have over 39 inches of leg room. This number can only be topped by cars in a different class such as Cadillac Deville, Mercedez S class, and BMW 7 series long wheel base. 300M has a long standard equipment list. Leather seats are standard. Options are few. I ordered mine with sunroof, upgraded infinite stereo with in dash 4 disc CD player,11 speakers, which is a blast (literally), 17 inch chrome wheel, and a luxuary package which gives you much richer looking real Californian Walnut wood trim, wood/leather steering wheel and a complicated programmable EVIC (electronic vehicle information system). I bought the car in winter time. The heated seats became an instant must and my fovorite feature. Other touches such as tilt down side mirror on reverse just adds conveninence when parallel parking. Driving this car is such a pleasure. It accelates with authority, takes curves with confidence, and you look good in it.
Weakness:
From the safty point of view, it would be nice to have heated seat on/off indicator on the dash somewhere so that I don't have to take my eyes off the road and look down to check if it is on, or on high or low. The visibility from the captain seat may take you some practice to get used to. the high trunk lid, and sloping hood makes it impossible to see any corner of this car, so pulling or backing into a tight parking spot can be a challenge. But once I am used to it, it does not bother me at all. The brake feel can be better. It feels spongy when braking hard. Interior build quality is one of the best seen in domestic cars. However, when driving on rough surface or even cranking up the 340 watt stereo with strong base, the interior squeaks and rattles. That is plain annoying, and deletes the nice feeling of driving a luxuary car. If you are shopping for value, you will make a mistake not to cross shop Chrysler 300M. The long list of its standard features will shame the competitors who are charging you for leather, heated seats, etc. For the money, you will not find another car in its class that will give you more engine power, more leg room and trunk room, not mentioning the great look. Acura TL 3.2 may come close in value, but if you don't care for Acura's more conservative (generic) look, or the smaller size, or even its Japanese origin for patriotic reason, there is only one car left for you --300M. This is a great American car. I am glad I bought it. Similar Products Used: None |

Many options for the price, however the R&D did not go into the electrical system.
Weakness:
Electrical system has given me many problems. I must have a lemon, although Chrysler says they can't find the problem so there must not be a problem. So here is the story, it all start with the AC blowing air on high even though it was on low, next came the windows, all four quick working, Chrysler says "oh we can't find any problem except for a blown fuse". Next the blinkers failed then the lights started flashing on and off both exterior and interior. Once again after the third dealership, "we can't find anything, except this blown fuse". So I say why are all the fuses blowing. Chrysler "You never know sometimes they just do that". So right now the car is parked waiting for my lease to end, next month, and I bought a Toyota 4runner and I LOVE IT!!!!! You might ask why didn't I trade it in...the Toyota Dealership didn't want it, they told me to keep it, and they didn't even know about the problems it has. Roomy, look, strong, nice fluff leather seats. I love the heated seats in the winter!! This card rides and handles nice. You will love it!! total comfort..Full size spare a plus(but you're going to need it!!) I'm still getting compliments!!! Car holds up nicely, some cars you can tell the difference after a year but my car rides better then some of these new cars. Started everytime in the cold(a plus if you live in Chicago like myself)!! Fast and pick-ups speed nice. Also brakes good and very responsive. Auto-stick is good but you want be using it because you will be to much in a comfort zone!! Nice speakers!
Weakness:
The 17" chrome wheels look good but the tires is a joke! I couldn't ever get out of the garage with them tires!!! It's embarassing when a used car can drive threw the snow and your late model car is stuck!! These tires suck big time!!!! Full size spare is great becase you will be using it. I had a flat once and I disected the tire, trust me, these tires are made of rubber s**t. Traction control will come on alot if you like a quick take off which can be annoying at times, especially in the rain, but it does help on ice. Even though the tires suck I still will buy this car again and again and again. The car feels good and secure. I actually feel comfort while driving...People wonder why I pay $11 a day to park downtown Chicago when I can use public transportation to get to work, but hey, they just don't understand. I feel like I'm in a recliner when I'm driving, that's no joke!!! I test drove my friends 300M and that was the end of story. My advice to you, this is a good car but if you don't wanna spend the money then don't test drive it because once you do, it's all over. Similar Products Used: I don't know, I just know this car rides nice!! I had a Chrysler Sebring before the trade-in and the ride and comfort is far superior. |

Acceleration, the hidden power in autostick when you pop it into first at 25mph(40kmh). Great fun in the snow, have had NO problems in 1ft of snow. 17" wheels hold the road like glue at +200km/h(120mph)
Weakness:
Front wheel drive, front overhang(too big for driveway), small gas tank, rear doors locks don't go automatically I would recommend it to all. I have two sons who greatly enjoy driving it too. It doesn't show it's true value, which is good when taken downtown! Again, there is hidden power in the autostick, I recommend taking advantage of it. My tires have had no problems, not even showing wear after 6 months of autobahn like driving, gunning it at stoplights and hard corners. Congrats Chrysler! Similar Products Used: Bang for the buck! Faster than 528i, E320, A6! All it needs is RWD and it could take a chunk of the euro sports sedan market! |
