Strength:

The price is good. A all-season tire which can do a high speed driving and it still can make the drive have confidence to turn many high speed turn.

Weakness:

The life of the tire is short and please don't use it to drift. After use it to drift about three times in the parking log, it lost its reliablility.
Will out of control sometime which the road is wet. Some of my friend cash car in low speed because the tires cannot catche the wet floor

It is a good tires. Especial for normal drive, the price is cheap and it can give the driver some confidence. But it is no good to drive fast. It is a little dangerous in rain.

Strength:

Wet weather performance (cornering, braking, acceleration) is great; dry performance is very good. No tire noise.

Weakness:

Not surprisingly, the wear could be better. Unless you need it, get a lower speed rating

I purchased and used these strictly as a summer tire (nothing beats a winter tire for winter), and I've only gotten two seasons out of them - maybe 40,000km of use. There is very little tread left, so there is no way I am going to get 3 seasons out of them. That makes it an expensive tire (approx. CDN$120/tire, I believe).

However, I was always pleased and impressed and left grinning by their performance, particularly in the wet.

If you can afford to get new tires more often than may be necessary with another brand, then I would definitely recommend these.

As much as I love them, I'll probably be trying out Michelin Pilots next - just for something different.

Strength:

Launchability, Durability, quality, Affordability, Wet traction, Dry traction, sleeper looks....

Weakness:

NoNe, unless you are too cheap to buy tires that perform.

Nice tires, dont have that much looks but they grip. My modified gsr launches easily at 3,000 rpm. Most tires have trouble with that. They grip great in corners and they dont squeal like a pig. I have bought a second set now.

Model Reviewed: 90 Accord EX

Strength:

Value - generally above average qualities for a good price; shines up nicely

Weakness:

Only above average qualities - not as sporty as advertised

Avid H4 - Replaced the MXV4s on my Accord and immediately noted the differences. Ride, noise, and dry traction seemed good but a small tick behind the far more expensive Michs. Wet traction was significantly poorer and snow traction was only average. What really disappointed was the very obvious reduction in steering response. The car was squirmy lacking the quickness of the much stiffer sidewalls of the Michs. If you are looking for a sporty feel, shop around. Don't believe me? My wife even noticed all of the above, too. Incredible.

Model Reviewed: 1996 Dodge Neon Sedan

Strength:

These tires are very quiet. They grip really well on dry pavement and puddles. They even look good.

Weakness:

The cornering isn't perfect. This is the only area they really lack in, but they are still pretty good. I can sense a little roll in very tight turns.

I bought these to replace some worn out Kumho 732 touring tires, and was very impressed. I wanted a performance AA tire that cornered well and was sticky. These H4s are sticky enough for my driving (occasional gunning and some cornering). The same day I got them, I took a 220 mi trip and they were awesome on the highway. I also got to drive though some rain, and they were great there-- kept a good grip on the road. These tires are also MUCH quieter, which is important in my noisy Neon. They changed the character of the car considerably.

Strength:

Predictable grip, price.

Weakness:

Extreme sidewall flex, slow responsiveness.

Very dissapointing tire. The grip isn't bad for a touring tire, but the incredible sidewall flex has caused me to replace these tires after only 1000 miles. The back end of the car seems to wander and skate, while the front does not respond at first to turn in, then snaps to attention unpredictably. My car is set up correctly, although it is a little aggressive, I use it for occasional AX and time trials, but mostly on the street.
I had 205-60-15s mounted on 6" wide rims, maybe that contributed to the flimsy feeling, but Yokohama recommends 6" to 7.5" wide rims.
I will not buy these again.
These tires may work just fine on a tame production street car, but they are not a high performance touring tire in my opinion.
Want to buy a set cheap?
