Strength:

Waaaayy better grip than Dunlop tires.

Weakness:

I can't get them to slide in the water.

I paid $78 a tire at Discount Tire. Wrapped them around a set of Enkie RSE 16's. The Honda DX hatch has had stock, Dunlop, Michelin, and Nitto. The Nitto's were by far the best lateral G producing tire for "street" use. Of course, like any tire, immediately after a rain the roads are fresh grease pits. So trying to make them grip then is a chore. But during a good rain hydroplaining is all but eliminated. Puddles I noticed produce no pull in either direction (unless approached with only one side of the car). Access ramps that I used to turn at 60 with some push, now are tackled in the 85-90 range with no sliding. They are excellent tires. Tire pressure is a delicate matter for this set of rubber. After warm up is when you should check tire pressure, approx 50 miles (according to Nitto). I have had no blow outs, no uneven tire wear, no strange noises, no complaints.

Strength:

Tread design, performance for price. Availability of obscure sizes

Weakness:

Not a true performance tire in any sense.

I've used two sets of these tires on two different cars. One set was 202/50/15 while the other was 205/40/16. The tire has an above average tread waer rating for a v-rated tire. They aren't bad for an all year M+S tire. I did use the 205/40/16's in 16x7.5 rims for an entire season of autocrossing. The tires did well in the sense that they did not chunk.....however they wore excessively down the cord as should be expected under those conditions. As for unpredictability.....they are very sensative to air pressure. I had mine when I lived in Upstate NY through the winters and they were fine in the snow. A descent all around tire for the money

Strength:

The performance for the $$ is impressive.
With siping they perform adequately in winter conditions.

Weakness:

They do not perform as well on dry pavement as the Pirelli P7. More tire squeal and the occasional slide (especially if there is any sand or gravel in the road).

For the $69 each I paid these are excellent tires. Especially since with the siping I didn't have to buy a set of winter tires too. If your looking for a lower profile tire for use in all weather conditions and decent performance on dry pavement these are a good tire.

Strength:

they look nice

Weakness:

everything else, the performance was horrible in wet or dry, squealing around every corner, soft side wall and hard contact patch make for an awful performance tire

i would definitly stay away from this tire. i have heard other people say the nitto 505's are good, but as for this bottom of the line nitto tire, it is junk, and i would never buy them for my car. buyer beware, unless u are using them for show tires, they are not worth even 50 bucks a tire

Strength:

THE PRICE WAS GOOD($69)AND THE TREAD DESIGN WAS APPEALING. I HAD A SET OF BFG EURO T/A'S ON PRIMAX 417'S(15X7'S)AND THOSE TIRES SUCKED COMPARED TO THE NT450'S,BUT THEN AGAIN THAT'S NOT SAYING MUCH.I THINK THAT THE DRY WEATHER TRACTION IS GOOD AS WELL AS CORNERING.

Weakness:

DON'T DRIVE ON THEM WHEN IT IS RAINING AND FOR GOD'S SAKE DEFINITELY DO NOT DRIVE IN THE SNOW!!!!!!!

I PAID $69 A TIRE WHICH IS A GOOD PRICE IF YOU ARE ON A BUDGET.I WOULD RECOMMEND THESE TIRES ONLY IF YOU CAN'T AFFORD A BETTER TIRE AT THE TIME OF PURCHASE.

BFG EURO T/A IS WHAT I HAD BEFORE AND THOSE TIRES WERE FOR LOWRIDING(BEFORE I SAW THE LIGHT IN THE IMPORT RACE SCENE)AND THEY SUCKED WHEN I TRIED THEM AT THE DRAGSTRIP.I ALSO ALMOST HAD AN ACCIDENT TRYING TO TAKE A SHARP TURN,BUT THAT COULD HAVE BEEN DUE TO THE SPEED THAT I WAS GOING.I DO THINK THAT 450 IS A BETTER TIRE WHEN COMPARED TO A EURO T/A.

Strength:

affordable
better grip than stock
insurance came in handy

Weakness:

apparently not built too well
horrible in bad weather

I ordered a set of 205/50/16 NT-450s with my 16" Enkei TBS-11s from for around $1300 including shipping and insurance from Discount Tire early last summer. Of course they are $300 cheaper a month later. Anyway: A friend of mine ordered a similar set-up with RS-Es for his Civic the same week(I drive a '93 Saturn SL2).
Between the two of us, we have had like four blowouts since June. One of them was doing 25 mph down a residential street when all of a sudden we saw shredded pieces of Nitto scattered behind us. Unbelievable.
I don't think either of us have gone a day with correct tire pressure since then, as the tires that don't blow just deflate.
As far as Discount goes, I don't know if they sold us blems, or what, but they were great about sending us all of those free replacement tires that came with the insurance we purchased.
Regarding their performance, it wasn't tremendously thrilling, but it was a lot obetter than stock, especially for my friend with the dx hatchback that came with 13" wheels.
As far as inclement weather goes, forget about it. The first sign of water had me sliding all over the road. They really handled like garbage, and that was with traction control on.
Like I said, we could have just gotten defective tires, but I will not buy another set to find out, if you catch my drift. Maybe we were expecting too much, or maybe we were just ignorant to the disadvantages of these specialized aftermarket brands, but my friend and I were certainly disapointed.

Strength:

Good grip in the dry during the last half of the tread life. Good grip in the wet during the first half of the tread life. Good looking tread design.

Weakness:

Purchased these tires expecting a tire that would stick like glue ... wrong. These tires seemed to take a long time to bed in, about 20k miles. Up until that 20k mark, these tires would squeal around just about every corner taken at moderate to high speeds. Needless to say, I was disappointed with that aspect of the tire. The wet grip afforded by these tires was pretty good for the first 20k, but after that they became very unstable in the wet. However, after the 20k mark the dry grip was fairly impressive. The main problem with the dry grip was unpredictability - you never knew what was happening down at the contact patch. One second you're flying around a corner with no squealing, the next you're trying to keep your car out of the weeds. Forget about snow traction. I was spinning in 1" of snow in these. Also, after about the 30k mark these tires became VERY loud - I mean obnoxious. I've had tires become louder as they approach the wear bars, but these are king when it comes to that.

Paid $300 for a set of four via mail order. Not at all what I expected - a high performance all season tire that is at all times unpredictable, often noisy and squealing, and mostly bad in inclement weather. That said, if you're going for just "the look" and don't care about any of the aformentioned, they are cheap.

Strength:

Price, Most Sticky for the $$

Weakness:

None so Far...

I had originally found them in a Tire Rack ad for $89 and called my local Discount Tire and asked if they price matched...for certificates, nipples and balancing, they installed them for $92 a piece!! I guess that beats what I would have had to pay Tire Rack for the tires + S/H and then have someone else mount them...The Nitto's look great and stick well for the price. It's only rained twice here, so for the rain I did get to play in, they didn't slip when I tried to make 'em...I don't think you can find a better tire for the price...

I will be rid of them soon.

Weakness:

I have almost wrecked my car more than once in the rain with these tires. The cornering ability is disapointing. They will not stop spining and grip on a track. The tread wear actually pulls with any dips in the road. I have to get a new set of tires due to the fact that these did not last at all. I will never buy Nitto again nor will I sell them.

I Autocross and Drag race. This is the last pair of Nittos I will ever use. I also sell performance parts and Nittos will no longer be offered in tire packages.
