Strength:
Good traction, reasonably good in light snow/ice, trouble free, car goes where we point it, feels very stable (partly result of having a pretty good tire)
Weakness:
A little rougher ride than I expected from reading the review in Consumer Reports. Won't wear real well, but then I didn't expect it to. We have put over 15,000 miles on them and they still look very good. I think I paid about $115 per tire, plus shipping, mounting and balancing. I've found it to be a good tire and would probably get it again. I do recommend it. Similar Products Used: Feels about like the Dunlop premium tires we had before; I expected it to be similar in control but smoother riding. |

Strength:
They are very quiet
Weakness:
When accelerating from a standstill, they squeal too much. Also, on turns they tend to give away and lose traction. I read mixed reviews on this tire, but since my toyos were worn out, i needed to get some quick tires. However, i picked the wrong ones. These tires are definitely not made to go on to anything quick. These should stick on slow cars. The incident that sent me over to pretty much hate these tires is that an old lady merged into traffic ignoring the signal(i had green) and i braked. Even though it was the lady's fault, i had about 45-50 feet to stop from 45mph and the tires didnt even feel like they were gripping the pavement. The lady and i collided at an angle(i managed to steer somewhat). These tires do not provide the driver with a feeling of the road. Similar Products Used: Toyo A05 |

Strength:
Very quiet. They actual increased mpg from 27 to about 30.
Weakness:
Tread life sucks. Approaching 32k miles and probably only about 4-5k left. Nice tires but very expensive. Friend of mine worked at NTB, got the tires for a good price. The sales people hype this tire up for obvious reasons. Cost for my car is about $105. They arent worth that much. I would recommend these tires but do your homework. Most tire companies will match prices. Get them to compete with wholesale companies like Costco, Sam's, Bj's etc. Similar Products Used: Dunlop(forgot the model name) However, much cheaper with same qualities just a tad bit louder. |

Strength:
Quiet, smooth ride
Weakness:
high high high price This tire came with the new Accord. It does everything just okay. If you driving at speed limit and slow down when turn, you probably won't notice anything. But at the cost of $100+/tire for 195-65-15, it is very stupid to pay for this tire. $70 per tire is more like it. Michelin probably sells it to Honda at very cheap price and expects to make money back when we go to the store to replace it. Similar Products Used: Dunlop SP Sport 5000 - As quiet, cheaper, much much better traction. |

Strength:
Great traction, smooth, comfortable ride. Didn't get a chance to drive them in the rain, so I can't comment on their wet traction capabilities.
Weakness:
Too pricy, THE NOISEST TIRES I'VE EVER OWNED (except for studded snow tires on a Jeep Wagoneer!) I bought two of these tires with some apprehension because of numerous reviews I read complaining of the excessive noise these tires generate, but due to my loyalty to Michelin, I took a gamble. Well, I should have listened to others. The noise was immediately noticable the moment I left the store. EVERY pavement imperfection, EVERY expansion joint, EVERY surface type: RUBBER ECHO CHAMBERS! Sometimes they whine, sometimes they howl, and they just NEVER, EVER shut up until the car is parked! How would you rate two new front tires on a well-insulated, well-made car that are so loud that you can hear them over the AC with the blower set to 4 and the radio cranked up? Ten days of this, and I couldn't take any more. Today I downgraded to Energy MXV3-A's, got a $34 credit, and finally got a quiet car back! Trust me: unless you are deaf in one ear and can't hear out of the other, steer clear of these megaphones. SUMMARY: 1 star for great traction, 1 star for that smooth Michelin ride, -1 star for price, -2 stars for NOISE (a rating any higher than this and I'd lose my self-respect). Similar Products Used: Compared to lots of other Michelin's throughout the years on various cars, these were by far the worst. |
