Strength:

Super handling on dry condition. Comfortable and quiet on highway speed. High quality control in manufacturer.

Weakness:

Tread life are shortern than other brand (Bridgestone BF Goodrinch and Goodyear) Extremely pricy, somehow I believe the money I invest for is just the brandname.

There is no problem on making a sharp corner at 90km/h with brand new Honda Accord(Good car, good design). Don't try it unless u are trained to do so. Exceptional worst in Wet condition. These tires had cause me 2 rear-end accidents because of the slow response and handling. Not recommemed for any city that have snow and rain. I think the manuafactorer should focus the rubber marketing on affortable price and reasonable thread life. I have no problem on tire balancing these tire due to the high quality control from the manufacturer. For the same amount of investment, I would wisely spend it on Option A: Buy other brands and use the saving to buy my friends dinner. Option B: Buy a higher quality of tire ( Performance touring) with the other manufacturers.

Great tires for highway cruising, but not so good on curves. Very stable at high speeds, but squeal and scrub thru hard turns. They're kinda pricey for that kind of performance. My CL came with them stock. 2 of them lasted 65,000 miles, but 2 had to be replaced from pot-hole damage. I replaced them with Toyo 4s.

Well like any review for any product out there there will always be ye or nay for a product. How many people like Oprah? I like her and some people will not like her, that is what gives our planet spice and adventure. My point is no matter how much you make like something or love something there will always be somewhere that feels very much the opposite, so don't take it personally be proud of who you are and what YOU like and what makes you happy. I have a 2002 Passat and think for the money it's better than some cars that cost twice as much, this is how I feel and I love my car, and I also am really impressed with the MXV4 plus' that my car is now riding on for the second time. Winter was coming up so I put new ones on before the snow hit, I put 50000 Kilometers on them with about another 10000 before the magic line would be flush with the pavement. This past week we had snow 40cm ice slush you name it. Never got stuck, never felt unsafe, (being in a passat helps because it is a very solid car) In the summer I hit 200km an hour without a shake or worry. Quiet tire with good grip, great in the rain and deep puddles. What can I say, I love them. I would be curiuos to see the difference all snow tires would make for traction and braking, so I honestly don't know the difference this winter I"m driving down to Florida so I won't bother maybe next winter I'll buy rims and winter tires to see, and to preserve my Michelins, because I noticed when new there good in the snow but by the end of the second winter with them, their tired and would not do 3 winters with them. So I really like them ok!!! as many people do and many people don't. Hey did I ask you if you liked Oprah???.........have fun and drive safely. P.S. as far as driving habits go, if you like to drive fast in a straight line fine, but to really hug those corners like a nut you need a low profile tire and low riding car, hey I'm 33 and my "nut driving" days are over, although you can have fun in a Passat to drive sporty but 95% percent of my driving is regular driving, even driving a porche without pushing it you won't need perfomance tires anyway. Wearing winter boots in summer won't make you not slip anymore than your sneakers.......do you follow me?..............:)

I found bad review confusing: this tire is obviously good: great handling on wet and dry, safe and quite. The only issues are wear and price. I am a fast driver and they wear fast (40K miles). They are Michelin, therefore pricey.

Strength:

Good grip (dry, wet, light snow), low noise, decent treadlife. Very good tires, especially since I'm not exactly driving them like Grand Touring tires.

Weakness:

As with most Michelins, they're expensive. You can probably find similar performance for cheaper (or spend just a little more and get even better Michelins), but I can't easily compare since these are my original tires on this car.

These came stock on my Passat. I've been driving on them for 2 years and 25000 miles. They've been really good to me, but I'm now looking at something a little sportier to match my driving style, now that the tread is getting low. I'm at around 4/32" now, and while grip is still strong in the dry, I am getting a little squealing on tight corners and the wet traction is starting downhill (still good, but there's more slipping). There's also a bit of feathering, but that's chronic Passat behavior right there, not necessarily the tires. They have very good grip (for a non-performance tire) in the dry. I can typically corner in excess of advisory speeds (I can take one corner around 10mph faster than my wife's RSX, possibly due to the 500 extra pounds my car weighs). In heavy rains, I have never felt the car loose its footing (though I don't push it in the rain). I've treaded through deep puddles along the side of the road (good for cleaning the wheel wells, you know?), and it just plows right through with little wavering. In light snow, it performed decently, in my opinion: braking very much set off the ABS, but we did pretty well driving through 30 miles or so of the stuff. We don't get much snow in Austin, so that was my first time navigating a car through the stuff. We survived, and I only slid past one stop line. That may have been more my fault than the tire's In ice, I don't think any tire will do well, but I was able to make the drive to work (2.3mi) through slush and some icy patches. Braking always went around 10' past my target when above 10mph, but I survived, so it couldn't've been that bad! Overall, these are very good tires, though as for whether they're worth every penny, the jury's still out. I'd definitely buy them again, but not until I've tried some other tires (or seen lots of other reviews on Passats).

I have over 80,000 miles on my car and have the original tires. I am now looking to replace them. My mechanic is amazed at how great these tires have held up and performed. Everytime I've thought I needed to replace them, he's advised me I didn't need to until this past month. He advises me to replace with the same tire since I plan on holding onto the car for several more years.

My BMW 323ci came with these, and they are much more durable than the GY Eagles I had on my last 3-series BMW. I've got 62k on them and while that's making me a bit nervous, they still look great and perform well. I've never had a flat and never noticed any noise. Most of my miles are on the highway; I get 29 mpg. It's dry here but I can't see any cracking on the sidewalls. I want to buy another set but thinking I might be able to squeeze a few more miles out of these first.
